@@moresomoze i still love them! I am hangin with my C5 still, but it’s a lot cheaper to get the same performance (or close to) by just upgrading it instead of getting a whole new one
I have to say I have used your videos in great detail and fashioned my vert the same in many ways.. If you ever get down to Dallas Texas let men take you to dinner! Thanks so much!
Thanks for the video, Finally got mine yesterday after 3 months waiting. The bolts in the center are the worst! Love your videos keep them coming. This video and the side skirt one are the reasons I ended up buy them. C7 Carbon should give ya some bling brother!
Nice job on the video. My front splitter arrives Monday from C7, won't be installing it until next spring after it is painted to match. Your video will make the job a snap! Thanks.
That looks fantastic Chris. Nice job on the installation! I am curious to see if you are going to see a rise in engine coolant temperature under the same conditions as before. I would really love to have one of these splitters but I'm afraid it would get broken off in the first couple weeks.
Hey Chris great video! Did you have to re install the factory air dam skirts after the install? The front splitter looks like the air is routed to the radiator and you wouldn’t need it? Thanks for your time
Thanks for this vid Chris i was just looking at this spliter 2 days ago definitely getting now looks awesome side note what do you think about installing push start button looking to do it soon
Nice! Too bad i cant add that to my ride. Are you going to be using wheel adapters instead of spacers?? Only thing i hate about adapters is they're not study for the flex when it comes to swinging the car or canyon carving long term.
Thanks for all your content Chris. I just ordered the same sides and front for my black c5. One question what are the little wheels under your front end called ?
Looks badass! You didn't use any double sided tape, alcohol prep pads or adhesion promoter? I'm about to do this to my C6 and I'm getting told to use those surface prepping products I just mentioned.
@@mycorvettelife yeah so is the lip I'm gonna put on, it's fastened with bolts, nuts, and washers but some people suggest using double sided tape with adhesion promoter in addition to the bolts and nuts. I think that's a bit overkill, thanks for the reply.
Great vid! Might have to pick up one of these for my '97. I'll probably opt for the carbon one though. The gloss black might get lost in the fact that my Vette is black. What was the price difference?
At the lowest point of this particular splitter, about how many inches does it hang lower past the bottom edge of the front bumper? I like the gloss black finish against your white C5, good choice.
is that splitter channeling its own air into the radiator it certainly looks like it.I have seen where people put on these splitters and have cooling issues. This is the first one I have seen that looks like it will not restrict airflow.I have my car lowered on the factory bolts what do you think about that with the splitter any problems you think.
Added downforce. Just like with any added aero, you will have more drag, thus resulting in a lower top end. But since I will never go 190+mph, even on a race track, I don’t care. I don’t measure mpg in this car. It’s highly modified and not my daily driver.
Whats up, Chris? I was just reading on a forum that installing a front splitter on a C5 can and or, may cause over heating issues. And i was just wondering if you have experienced this with yours. Reply whenever you're available, man. Happy motoring.
Chris was was going to order this same splitter. Would you recommend still getting the front rollers that protect the underneath? Do they assist in keeping the splitter intact?
Hi...Did you have any problems with overheating ??? So much people get problem with that ..and this splitter c7 fiberglass or carbon ? It's doesn't look like carbon ..
Mines dropped 2 inches and I had same one. Even cut out and “screened” the under area still no go. Maybe my intercooler crowds everything but splitter deflected to much air for mine. EVEN with air damns
Been contemplating this one for a while now and have been warned off because of cooling issues. Is the car cooling okay so far? I imagine Arizona heat would be a good test. I also heard as long as you keep the air dam installed it should be okay. Thanks for the video. I think it looks great.
I’m aware. And it’s not the getting hot air part out that’s the issue, it’s the getting air in. That’s why I went with a vented front splitter. C7 Carbon is the only one who makes a proper vented front splitter for C5.
@@mycorvettelife Easy way is to follow outside temperature display. Rising too much, the hot air stays in (vortex). That was the problem here in one Vette. Engine was too hot and outside temperature display was showing big numbers.
@@mycorvettelife that's what I was hoping to hear but when you put the mid section of the front airdam back on it looked like it was mounted on the bottom of the splitter with no opening above it - which would make it completely useless as it's job is to push air up into the radiator? Have you seen your engine temps rising when going for a spirited drive since installing the splitter?
I was following you for some time now, yesterday i bought my first ever vette, after owning 5 mustangs i must say i like it so far
Welcome to the dark side! Congrats!
Welcome!
Idk if you’re like me, but once I drove my first Vette, no other sports car quite cuts it for me.
I would not call it “the dark side” it’s a genuine GM part with a GM number. Actually it could be considered an upgrade.
@@moresomoze i still love them! I am hangin with my C5 still, but it’s a lot cheaper to get the same performance (or close to) by just upgrading it instead of getting a whole new one

Congrats!

I like the "landing gear" that you added to protect the lower radiator support.
Ha, I like that terminology. Thanks.

Love the look! The splitter just moved up my list of mods. Thanks for the video Chris👍
Good Job Chris, one of your better Video’s, keep it up......
Thanks Cris doing mine this morning

NICE VIDEO. THE NEW FRONT SPLITTER LOOKS AWESOME ON YOUR VETTE. IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Chris,your car is looking awesome! I can't wait till it's 100%
Nice job on the video.
That splitter looks awesome.
Well done.
As always , Thumbs UP, Thank you Chris for sharing : ) Best regards Ole Jensen from NORWAY
Wow, that looks awesome Chris, never saw much carbon splitter stuff on C5s, cool, thanks Chris
It looks really good, Chris!
Mine is currently getting shipped can’t wait
Looks pretty easy to do and looks awesome. Good job!
Looks great Chris!
Looks sweet. Thanks for the install info.

Nice job. Are the drilled holes visible at all if the lip is off or are they all hidden under car?
Not visible.
Hey Chris great video! Did you have to re install the factory air dam skirts after the install? The front splitter looks like the air is routed to the radiator and you wouldn’t need it? Thanks for your time
Yes I did reinstall the air dam. Is it necessary....probably not.

Temporarily until I get the proper wheels.
@@mycorvettelife got it. Be safe with those adapters!

Skid plate wheels
Chris how about do one on how to install the zo6 screens on the front bumper.
Looks badass! You didn't use any double sided tape, alcohol prep pads or adhesion promoter? I'm about to do this to my C6 and I'm getting told to use those surface prepping products I just mentioned.
No, it’s mechanically fastened, not stuck on.

Link is in the video description.
At the lowest point of this particular splitter, about how many inches does it hang lower past the bottom edge of the front bumper? I like the gloss black finish against your white C5, good choice.
1.5” lower than the nose of the bumper.
Looks great. Quick question. Did you put your order in for the 2020 Vette?
Not yet. It’s a 5 year plan for me.
Looks good.

Yes it does. And yes, it will scrap and does when lowered.
@@mycorvettelife thanks for the reply.I really appreciate it
Looks awesome Chris! Are you planning on doing the side skirts as well? Rear wing?
Side skirts, I have a SLP rear spoiler I’m going to install when I get the new rear quarters painted.
One more question, if you please. Do you get any cooling and/or aerodynamics function out of this ? Measurable mpg diff? top end speed?
Added downforce. Just like with any added aero, you will have more drag, thus resulting in a lower top end. But since I will never go 190+mph, even on a race track, I don’t care. I don’t measure mpg in this car. It’s highly modified and not my daily driver.
Did you notice any decrease in mpg after installing the splitter?
and has it helped with front end bite going into corners?
I don’t drive the car for MPG, nor do I pay attention to it. Yes, it creates downforce.
Very nice.
Whats up, Chris? I was just reading on a forum that installing a front splitter on a C5 can and or, may cause over heating issues. And i was just wondering if you have experienced this with yours. Reply whenever you're available, man. Happy motoring.
Definitely increased coolant temp. I’ve since upgraded my radiator to Dewitts and have no issue.
Chris was was going to order this same splitter. Would you recommend still getting the front rollers that protect the underneath? Do they assist in keeping the splitter intact?
I would. They have worked out great for me.
FnA! Another fantastic video!
Thanks
Hi...Did you have any problems with overheating ??? So much people get problem with that ..and this splitter c7 fiberglass or carbon ? It's doesn't look like carbon ..
It is fiberglass. I do run a little warmer, but not above the normal range.
@@mycorvettelife thanks
have you had any over hearing issues?
Not since installed the DeWitts radiator.
You should install a set of splash guards
Just installed one of these on my '02 and temperature climbed quite a bit (Phoenix as well). I will be removing I guess. Expensive mistake.
Hey Chris i watched the vid a 2nd time because I can kinda see an Easter Egg in the thumbnail picture is there a side skirt vid coming
👍
you think i can do this with my c6
Sure
Coooool;)
Lookd good but I am afraid of this mod. I know I would hit something and tear it up. I hope you have good luck and avoid road junk!
Ohhhh you gonna overheat bad in Arizona with that particular one. Cuts off under venting

My Corvette Life no over heating issues?
Did you know, installing splitter will cause problems with engine temperature (getting too hot) because hot air wont come out easily.
I’m aware. And it’s not the getting hot air part out that’s the issue, it’s the getting air in. That’s why I went with a vented front splitter. C7 Carbon is the only one who makes a proper vented front splitter for C5.
@@mycorvettelife I hope it works.

Because you are supposed to.
