  • Sorry for the lack of videos! Its been a rough winter/spring at home this year, but am going to finally be getting back into it. Here is a quick mash up of some shots to get a basic Idea of the car. After having to build the transmission myself, the car is finally sorted, and has been down the track! Car runs 14.70s at 94mph with no weight reduction! And gets somewhere around 15 mpgs still even with 3.55 gears. Will be trying to get more footage as things progress. For now, I’ll be posting short clips here and there!

I just love the classic 🇺🇸 boxy sedans of the 70s and 80s, this one is very nice, and it goes ! Quite the sleeper indeed, also they are comfy, reliable and plenty powerful and fast.

My Grandma had a 1987 Gran Fury with the vinyl top and the 318. Nice car.

Thank you! I love these things. Great comfy cruisers that can be fun with a few tweaks.

I rented a whole bunch of these on business trips. They were what the Volare/Aspen should've been to start with.

The standard police cruiser back in the day if anyone remembers. Dodge Diplomat was the name it went under.

RCMP also used the Gran Fury under the name Plymouth Caravelle

@@JordosGarage Yes. A disappointing stretch for law enforcement equipment.

@@benhogan4739 as much as I love the 318, I have to agree. Chrysler dominated the cop car market from the 60s to the early 80s but these cars were the ones that led to the downfall of their cop car monopoly. At least they made a good comeback with the Charger

Think you could fit a 413 Max wedge or 454 into a 98 Dodge Stratus?

Hi Ryan! I have the same car as you (I have an '86 Gran Fury) and I'm considering getting the same ehxuast as well as the same gears. Did you do the work yourself? I am having trouble finding universal ehxuast parts that'll fit my car.

Hello! Definitely a good move and will help improve overall performance with these things. I did end up doing the work myself. Ive heard of guys getting a custom DIY kit thats universal, and then cutting/welding to fit. Or, Ive also heard A-Body (duster, dart, valiant) kits can be made to fit as well. Hopefully this helps!

Yes that can work , I did that when I had my Dip many moons ago . Just have to move the tank to the rt one rib and use marine fuel hose to extend filler neck . Nice ride posted there.

It has A-body headers, 2.5 inch custom system with x pipe and magnaflow style 14 inch oval case mufflers.
