Major fail in a multi-million dollar house

  • What a HOT call this was, both in terms of the actual heat and the pressure to not cause any more damage on this monster of an expensive house. This little gated city/community known as Hidden Hills is home to lots of celebrities like Kanye/ Kim Kardashian and Drake. The streets were small to navigate and full of expensive cars and low hanging trees, so I had to carefully maneuver Hulk until I got to this lot.
    First step was to assess the situation and get my game plan going. Due to the tight space and slope, getting in front of it or off the side was not possible. After removing a bin in my way, I backed up Hulk as far as I could and started the slow rigging process of setting up my lines.
    My primary goal was to upright the reach truck WITHOUT causing any more damage to the house or the roof. I did this by having one primary lift and catch line, plus an additional winch line straight to the boom to make sure it comes up without scraping or dragging the roof. It was a tiring and slow process but safety is always first and the plan was executed to perfection.
    Once upright, I used my underlift to perform a recovery rear tow, while still having one winch line on the axle with a missing tire for support and safety and towed it out of the property lot and into the street. From here, I backed it onto a Landoll and used my boom lines to straighten it out to the customer's satisfaction. Not the heaviest job or most difficult job I've done, but definitely a ton of pressure from the contractors watching my every move to make sure no further damage was done.
    All footage was shot with my GoPro Hero 7 Black using a chest mount and edited in Adobe Premiere.
    If you liked the video, subscribe to see more in the future and follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see our daily recoveries and more pictures of The Hulk and our giant 75ton rotator, Big Flipper, where I post content regularly.

    I’m a commercial tire tech service truck driver, I like to think I have good instincts when it comes to judgement calls, tactics, and overall awareness. This guy needs all of the above considering I operate out of a dually with a tiny boom etc and he works out of a rig way way way bigger than anything I’ve seen in action. I’d love to apprentice under this guy for sure! If you are going to learn something as intense as this it’s best to learn from a pro

    When you needed to shift the load to the drivers side, you could have turned Hulk’s wheels to the left which would have pivoted the underlift in the direction it needed to go. The distance from Hulk’s steer tires to the back of the underlift is long enough that 1-2 inches at the steers would have been more than enough shift. Rigging for a second lift worked but if for some reason you still needed the boom lines attached, this would have gotten you what you needed. Good job on the recovery.

    • @PepesTowingService
      @PepesTowingService  3 года назад +1

      Yes and no. I didn't have much room to back up onto the Landoll because the outriggers. In this case it was much easier to use my boom line to swing it over since it was already attached and I had full 100% control down to the inch of where I could put it. Going forward or backing up again could take multiple attempts and could throw off the front.
