I know that sometimes old houses need to come down but it still breaks my heart to see the beautiful old buildings replaced by the cookie cutter houses of today.
That's good to see two companies work together. I try to do that with lawn care as well, cooperate and not compete, but that's easier said than done in my field lol
good relationship with your competition - so to speak - it's good that you can cooperate and help each other when needed. Need more of that in this world
Nice job! I watched a guy doing a local demo of a local two-story house that had been abandoned. I knew it was going to be interesting when I first watched him mangled and crush one of those old Western Flyer tricycles sitting on the back porch. It was in perfect condition…until he got to it. He tore away the outside wall (rather than pushing it inward), which revealed that the back bedroom was a play room, loaded with toys. The operator had a blast attacking and smashing up everything, even a large doll house sitting on a table in the corner of the room. There was a huge inflatable globe hanging from the ceiling and after getting knocked down and rolling around during the demolition, eventually got smashed by the excavator tread. This guy spared nothing! I suspect Matt would’ve enjoyed doing this demo!!! 😂 😂 😂
I didn't realize I was watching an Indiana crew until you said Tell City. My kitchen table is Tell City. Love watching good work. A Hoosier watching from Texas.
Great demolition job!!! I thought that orange painted excavator was a Hitachi. I did not expect it to be a Kobelco, once painted Sunbelt Rentals green, then painted orange! Very cool.
You remind me of my dear late father and his competitors/friends. In our small MN town there were 5 truckers that did farm to market trucking in grain and animals. While they were competitors and they all competed for a finite amount of work, they could always be counted on to support one another when there was a need; something I see missing today. I salute your ethic toward other honorable competitors as I do the men like my dad who never lost a wink of sleep over ill-will in his small town. Folks could learn from you guys.
👍 I would imagine a friendly competition is better than an adversary competition. Could also be helpful on not just a safety issue but a partnering on a job that may show up that's bigger than both of you. Really nice demo, thanks for the vid.
Good video again when you was coming off the trailer when I seen the tires I know exactly what you were doing with them my dad worked in construction before he was tearing houses down to that’s been a long time ago that’s back in the 80s The Mack sounded good you know i like the Mack truck good job running the excavator you are pretty good on that thing brother be safe I like the super stick again good job my friend
😁🤗thanks for sharing your day and helping on big jobs 🤗😁 🤔long reach maybe a rv Bluetooth backup camera on a tripod too see your bucket with the house next door 👍
Great video! It’s always a tough job when you have something so close. Competition is great for business, one hand helps the other. Thanks for sharing. Kevin
?? DP with all dust & the age of the home did you worry about asbestos in the dust what about using water hoses to hold the dust down? Cool video thank u for sharing with us on the utubes!!
That was precision in motion. Made it look easy, and didn't take very long to turn a home into a pile of rubble. That super stick always looks bulky and awkward to me, but you sure make it look easy. Well done DP.
That looks like fun I remember as 10-12 years old watching house get tore down & the chimney fell within 15 feet where we had been setting & my aunt hollered for us to get back as she seen it start falling & the bricks came close to her lawn chair a very close call !
Nice job, it is interesting to see that most American houses are completely built in Wood, in fact quite easy to demolish, for us in France it is rather rare, the houses are all or almost all built in Stones, Cinder blocks, Concrete or Bricks, only the frame is made of wood with tiles on it, no sheets except in the mountains, interesting.
You build with the material you have. Different parts of the USA have different home styles. Many older homes are built with brick and block walls. Southwestern USA there are a lot of older Adobe homes.
Only three minutes into it and I got to say..... that old Mack climbing the hill sure sounds nice. Reminds me of when I used to drive truck. Now I have to go watch the rest of the video. Later boys......
Hello D.P.; Just had a thought, some time ago you hosted a competition of operators involving that box you have hanging on your shop wall. You know the one with all the colorful objects in it. What would make this competition special is the use of the "super-stick". It would be good to watch. Another great video. Keep them coming. Stay Safe
We work with competition all the time as well here its good business for the exact things you said. You run into a jam your there to help one another out and its saved me a few times. Not sure what your opinion is on these but maybe tell him to look into the AMI Graptor bucket. I do not have experience using this one, but it looks like a very nice thumb/bucket to use.
He definitely needs a 👍 to clean up this mess.I’ve been meaning to ask how you come by the super stick and now you said it’s 1/2 his. Suggestion: when working this close to another house you should (probably did) video the other house in case a argument comes up. Stay safe
Nice job with the super-stick, however i did notice a little squirrelyness in the side to side movement, but makes up for this with the extra reach. Reminds me of the extend-a-hoe backhoes I have operated in the past. Love those dirt equipment machines, but i guess I'll just stick with the cranes I've ran for the past 26 years. You're an awesome operator my friend. Keep up the awesome work friend..
I gotta say, you guys sound careful and competent going down your checklist. That level of professionalism deserves commendation, and you even joked while making sure that it was the *right house.* You're definitely not gonna show up on *r/IdiotsInCars* or on the nightly news ripping down the wrong home.
I think Cap’n borrowed that tire for his Whoppa Choppa! Mikey... here in the Ozarks we don’t have to tear them down. If they aren’t taken out by a tornado we just put a Free Lumber sign on them. They’ll be down by Monday!!! Nice job putting her down without damaging the house next door.... and bonus. The kids learned more that day than they would from a whole week of virtual school!
I know that sometimes old houses need to come down but it still breaks my heart to see the beautiful old buildings replaced by the cookie cutter houses of today.
Didn't know I'd love watching a house demo but I did.👍
Awesome
Thanks for shortening up the beginning and getting straight to the point...
Life is so much better when your competitors will work with you rather than against you.
Yup I agree
Absolutely! I work with a couple of midwives in my area. It helps a great deal!
The little part on the end is the best. Helping one another out while competing. That is what being a good person is all about.
Lol thanks and I agree
This is what you call good business. You compete but yet you have each other's back in the time of needed help
Thanks
HOLY CRAP!!! That Mack sounds good.
Thanks joe
Workin together is always better than competing, nice job for the superstick!!!
I Agree
I think it's great that you and Matt are friends. God bless
Good friends are hard to come by these days , and you my friend are a good friend. God bless you and your family
That's good to see two companies work together. I try to do that with lawn care as well, cooperate and not compete, but that's easier said than done in my field lol
Yup i agree
Love demolition time!! Nothing like a neighbor's house 5 feet away!
So true looks like your clean up project is going well
It's only competition if they are out to beat you. When you have a mutual respect, it's called cooperation. Co-op
It's always a good thing when companies can come to gather and work on a task together. Our government needs to take notes from you two.
Oh snap! I love the backup excavator method, can you come down and back me up on a demo? However, a piece of vinyl siding did hit the other house...
Would love to if we can work it out
good relationship with your competition - so to speak - it's good that you can cooperate and help each other when needed. Need more of that in this world
I love the sound of your truck and really enjoy watching you tear down old houses
Thanks appreciate that
Love it when teamwork gets things done. Have a blessed and safe weekend.
Thanks
I need to call you guys in on my oldest daughters bedroom. This is quite effective 🤣🤣🤣
And hoping she in not in it when they start knocking on the window. 😏😏😏😜😜
@@RKHarm24 knowing her like I do, she'll think it's a ride at six flags 🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Another perfect's video ! and an intelligent agreement with the competitor, that's rare, Mr perfect is really perfect! 😉😁
Thanks
Alright, way to double team that job. I liked hearing about the gentle competition & joint cooperation between Matt & you.
Thank you sir.
Thanks buddy

Lol me to 😜
Great to have a friend you can work with, this will make your life so much better.
