I thought you were gonna taxi up to within 5 feet of that gate and do a super short take off over the top. Haha

I burned up the motor on mine when it did an endo while taxiing. I bought a new motor from Arrows, and since their prices are pretty good I also bought a couple 50A Husky ESC's and a Husky motor. Because the new ESC uses 4mm plugs instead of the 3.5's the Bigfoot uses I had my first adventure in soldering. I'd wanted to put the bigger Husky motor into it but the motor mounts are different, and the Husky mounts are on back order.
With the new motor installed and using the 50A ESC I am running 4S 2200 and it flies REALLY good. Unlimited vertical, and the extra weight lets it push through the air better. There isnt a huge speed increase but now it feels powerful, where any breeze had a huge effect before.

Ya the 4S 2200 really wakes this plane up. I felt it was a little anemic on a 3S, but it flies like a new plane on the 4S.

@@TakeItRC I ran about 6 packs through this today, and couldnt be happier. Its so much more stable now and I really have everything dialed in mechanically and the CG is perfect with the battery all the way forward.
This is a great trainer now, and by the time my new Timber ships I expect to be a much better pilot. I also have a Husky I've refused to fly until I improve.

If they would offer a more advanced version of this plane , slightly bigger and more powerful, it be be a great seller as I don't want to mess with changing out the ESC ....but can you tell me how difficult it was to access the ESC and the steps needed to perform ...thanks

@@garyvale8347 Its very easy to do. Just remove the prop, remove the cowling, and you can see the ESC and how it is installed. You just unplug it and install the new bigger one the same way. The two problems I had were the banana plugs on the Bigfoot motor were 3.5mm and the plugs on the larger ESC were 4.0mm but you can order adapters on amazon if you dont want to solder. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001C34TC4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The other problem is getting the battery plug of the ESC back inside, and that just took a little wood carving with ax xacto knfe to enlarge it. No big deal.
I bought the Arrow Husky's 50A ESC because its pretty cheap, but you could even put a Spektrum SMART ESC in.
Its really a simple upgrade that makes the plane twice as good and lots of fun to fly. Its a shame they dont offer this as part of the Vector upgrade like they did on the Husky premium. The upgraded Husky has all sorts of upgrades, bigger motor, bigger ESC, Vector, etc for only about $50 extra.

Hi there, can you please advise as to what camera you have mounted on the plane? Thank you

This video is from a while ago, but I believe I was using the RunCam 4K. However, I believe the RunCam 5 is much better as it has stabilization, and can be stabilized even more with Gyro flow.

I have the Bigfoot and it was my 2nd plane , after learning to fly on an old school nitro and using a simulator ......it was my first assembling of a PNP kit and now after building planes from a few different manufacturers, have found the Arrows company to make pretty good quality kits and priced nicely .... ..I do agree that it's a great flyer and after becoming a more experienced pilot , I wish it had a little more more power.....If they would offer a more advanced version of this plane , slightly bigger and more powerful, it be be a great seller ...thanks

It is a little bit underpowered. Do what I did. Drop the propeller size by one inch and throw in a beefier esc. Now I'm able to run it on 4S and it really wakes the plane up!

You will have to carefully remove the wood plank inside where the battery mounts. The ESC is under there. Attach the three motor wires to the new ESC, definitely want to make sure your prop is removed to avoid cutting your digits lol. If the motor is running in reverse simply swap any two motor wires.
