The other day, Alpha received an email from a viewer questioning whether he's boring or not. He reads the email. In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro talks about being too nice and being boring.
Girls don't think you're 'too nice'. She just wasn't attracted to you. Alpha adds that being boring is an epidemic of massive proportion. We are replacing experiences and learning with technology time sucks, killing time, and entertainment.
Steps to Be Less Boring
1. Boring is a state of mind - people aren't boring. We feel boring. Proclaim instead that we are awesome, amazing, and interesting.
2. Be well rounded as an individual - don't just focus on one or two specific things. You need to seek out inspiration and education from the world around you. Don't isolate yourself. Learn about the world around you. Seek knowledge.
3. Try something new every single day - routine and interesting's kryptonite. Try new food, take a different route to work, listen to something else in the car... break the ruts!
4. Seek and engage someone new in a conversation every day - don't stay in a social bubble, interacting with the same people. Learn from new people to enhance your life experiences and interpersonal relationships.
5. Constantly seek self improvement - experiences create life! Try new things!

That can swing both ways. If it's something that other people don't find interesting, they may find you boring if your passion is the only thing you can have a good conversation around.

If you ask someone "What do you do for fun?" and they passionately say something odd like "Beekeeping!" I guarantee that would be a conversation starter, and you'd find that person much more interesting than someone who answers "you know..the usual, hanging out with friends, watching movies and stuff"

For your passion to be a good topic of conversation, it must be interesting in some way, so that people are compelled to ask you more about it. Find friends that can hang with you in the silence. Or a friend who can bring the interest out of you because you possess it. What are your interests? It's not that your boring, your friend didnt have anything interesting to suggest. Sounds like they're "boring" too. Most ppl who say what your friend said aren't interesting which is why they wish for interesting ppl to show up. If your interested in stuff that you enjoy someone will appreciate it.

In a way yeah, but it also gives you knowledge and, like this video said, that's part of being interesting. The knowledge could be given in a more interesting way though.

I think also, even if you have the knowledge, if you don't know how to talk and share that in an interesting way, people may never know that you have any knowledge that may interest them! Communication is the key...you have to figure out how to relate to people in an engaging way that allows you an inroad to sharing your knowledge and experiences.

I can have initial conversation with people quite easily, but my insecurity of being perceived as a boring person starts to take over me, to the point that I stop making efforts and they become uninterested in me.

I like deep topics, but I can not directly jump into topics like creation of universe. I can take any conversation to new lengths but how to break out of cycle of small talks?

That person you say 'wassup' or 'how are you' say that then talk about whatever it was that got you two together aka find common stuf, e.g old school mates, gym, blah blah and then like just move on and start talking about other stuff while having that conversation. Don't talk about universe stuff or deep conversation stuff at that point cuz then it'll make you seem weird , you have to keep it light and cool at first. Keep having conversations like this and what you'll notice is you won't be the one making up topics to talk about, the other guy/girl will start to want to talk to you( if the light and cool conversations you did before were any good) and he she'll bring up topics like idk football, TV shows and the like but then once you can easily have a conversation with that other person about literally anything (you or the other person usually literally thinks to themselves or says it out loud 'I can really talk to you about anything') then you can have deep convos with...

Doing something new everyday seems like a tall order. I hear that one a lot. maybe once a week? and good call on the morning talk shows.
People find me boring because I either don't talk much or I talk about something others are not interested in hearing about. I have more fun being daydreaming. I'm quiet and don't have much to say because I find others boring. Once I get to know someone, I get bored quickly and I lose interest in the person and then I end up having nothing to say to the person. I find a lot of people annoying or boring especially if they have a lot of knowledge and talk about something I have no interest in and I hate to be bothered. I am friendly but I guess I don't like people. Its very unusual and rare for me to like people but when I do, it takes something special to get me to like someone. Do I have issues?
You are not the only one who feels this way. Trust me, we're all different. Just because you feel this way doesn't mean there's something wrong with you. I relate very much to everything you just said, so if there's something wrong with you then rest assured there's something wrong with me as well. Being selective with people ain't nothing bad. In fact is highly recommended. Quality over quantity any day.

No. This was my mentality when I was 19 lol. After experience after experience then I realise not all people are boring. Some will tell you a path. Some will tell you something new. Some will be nice or bad to you etc etc.
People are boring cuz you are boring. You have no power to make other people un-boring. Other people may not be unboring, but for you they are boring.
However you can improve by learning something new and ideas and show it to someone else or try to convince that these thing is fun.

Being a boring person sucks because nobody would like to be with your company. You can probably be, just a shy person and often get a notion of being too boring but I think being too shy can be reversible, all you have to do is challenge yourself to be a confident person, show your playful side and everything else will follow.

I am 16 years old. I moved school and my class is only cool kids, I am not awkward, I am actualy kinda cool and I know that but for some reason Im struggling to talk with some people in my class and making new friends (but i have already made some friends from that class).The problem is that I am not that interesting and I dont know what to do.....i just dont understand the ''try something new everiday'' when everyday i go to school. If you're still in school then just hang out with or hang around popular people. It worked for me. There was this guy who would be talking with every single girl he sees, I became good friends with him and soon I was shaking hands with all the girls and guys as soon as I entered the class. After that you can just be on your own. You just have to get exposure. And from my experience, kids in school want to be friends with the friends of their friends, they like finding and making connections in a sorta strategic way, subconsiously. If your like the random guy or the loner who sits in a corner chances are no one will aproach you

I totally agree! To many people are stuck in the auto correct world. Engaging with others through conversation helps you become a better communicator and learning more about yourself. It’s fun to do and by stepping out of your comfort zone broadens your ability to grow!

I think there exists a dichotomy or dilemma of social behavior or social expectancy here. "just be yourself" vs. "get out of your comfort zone and be different". Im sure both of these so called advises have been given to people by you and everyone one else in the business. how can i practice being myself while the opposite? and vice-versa. the best i could come up with was to imagine a virtual chart, a table if you will with two columns. one that reads be yourself and one that reads step out of your comfort zone and be different and bug fix yourself. right? with me so far? ok good so grab stuff and throw them under the right column. to be nice and gentleman like certainly belongs to be yourself column. This means if you are a nice guy, dont change that trend, you are an asshole, usually maybe and just maybe a bad boy (not all bad boy image is ass hole, i would say badboy is malicious but not evil, badboy image is conny, scammy, fake, out-to-get-you image, its false advertisement for the lack of a better explanatory word, than genuinely badboy, which if you are genuinely a badboy, you have bigger issues than to worry about the columns) then try to be a gentleman. chances are you have built that confidence, you know youre ways with ladies, youve seen it all and you are proactively responsive to anything spontaneously thrown at you so try to be nice now and leave a good positive word out there for us less experienced nice people.
shyness, that certainly belongs to second column. if you are shy, please DONT entertain the idea of "just be yourself". you definitely wanna change that. ill give you my personal experience. ive seen a guy at a party, trying to get girls. trying to flirt and hit on them and it was apparent to anyone who cared to observe. spoiler alert, no one but me did because i was studying the interactions for my own knowledge. I figured, no one gave a shit. us shy people never think "omg wtf am i gonna do if she says yes" lol we only worry about negatives and bad outcomes. so far it makes sense, i didnt break any new grounds with that piece. but wait here is the deal. no one gave a shit even if he got rejected or made fun of because no one was surveying his behavior. people at the party are not there to watch you play theater. people in that party are there to do their own thing. no one even knows what youre doing, let alone successfully or unsuccessfully. This is something i need to work on myself. im gonna think of this obstacle as a countdown timer. say 100 rejections to success. I would anticipate 100 rejections before i see success. not only this helps me get to that success, but also motivates me to fight through the rejections having the "eyes on the prize" mentality. you go to school and fight through 4 years of absolute misery and you come out with higher education degree in mathematics. it certainly cant be harder than that. just need to get through the difficult parts. btw once you get over it, youre in the clear. you grow so insensitive towards rejection. (at least thats what im hoping). for all my video game lovers, nerds, geeks, mom basement people, all i need to say is GG, Get Good, Souls games. you die to the boss in so many different ways that you will lose the first time fear and impression, and you learn what works and what doesnt. We know how to master these fights, so lets decide as a new year resolution or whatever to get it done. the sooner you start the sooner you will graduate.

why dont you try to convert it on real life? i mean like, I like to play Skyrim, etc etc etc, ooh i played it alot, and i love bow and archery on every RPG games, then something popped in my mind "why the heck not joining Real life archery club?", i know it might sound ridiculous about how will that affect you but having another activity which is productive will increase your attractiveness, if you think theres a hardcore gamer who got attractive girls, well... you don't know him well perhaps. moreover , dude if you life on more civilized and open minded country youll find a tons of good activities to look on, not like on my country.

When it comes to texting its a little different. NEVER start with hey or wyd unless you already have a topic you are going to talk about. Even if you do have a topic you don't have to say hey, it will actually make you look more fun if you jump right into conversation. Use emojis but not too much and use them at the right times. (😂😭💀- are pretty much the most common to use and go with a lot of things. The Golden Tip - if you want to keep the conversation going, THEN DON'T CLOSE IT. it's so simple don't reply with a small sentence. Speak your mind out, give your honest opinion, etc.
