In this age where we’re exposed to what everyone around us is up to through social media, we often find us comparing ourselves with others, and in turn feel a sense of lack for what we don’t have. Instead, stay away from social media, and be grateful everyday for what you already have 😊

That’s so true, I have been thinking that what if there are no social media, how my life would have been going especially about people’s mindset. As u said people find them comparing themselves with others. Those thoughts would have a influence on something if it is good or not.
I like the ideas that we should appreciate what we already have, rather than seeking what u missing

I wanna share my little story. There was a period in my life where I was lost, I finished school, could not get a job, got a heartbreak, and basically I was spending my days numb in bed, not doing anything, not wanting to eat or to you know, even take showers. But I decided to change it, I read about happiness steps, I bought sudoku, and I was doing it also I was making myself tea, and it was super hard to enjoy it at the begining, but every day it was getting better and better, I was doing more steps, I started to pay more attention to things around me and not inside me, and somehow I got out. Now since that time I enjoy every little thing, I find happiness easily.

I always find your content to be truthful, enlightening and helpful. I don't really remember much from childhood but as I started unfolding it, I rediscovered myself and things that I used to like/love but totally forgot about them !
I personally don't enjoy sports, but I love bicycling and roller skating.
I don't enjoy hard-thinking activities, but I love reading and journaling.
I don't like relaxing and yet taking bath and lighting a candle helps !
It may seem like nothing but those things improved my life a lot and astonishingly they were the kind of things I used to do as kid. Sometimes it's not something new that our soul craves, but past familiar stuff
I sincerely hope that all of you will find something that you like !!

A life without a vision feels meaningless and boring. We all need a goal and vision to look forward to, and while you’re at it, try to make the journey to your goal fun 🙌🏼😇

    • @ShenShen88
      @ShenShen88 Год назад +29

I 100% agree. But for some people, it can be a real struggle to find a vision and a goal. I remember hearing about a 5 years plans when I was in university .... and honest.... I had no ideas what I wanted out of life. Where I wanted to go. What I wanted to do. Took me years on the work market with many trials and errors to finally figure it out. Having a goal definitely helps. I strongly believe today that there's more happiness coming from focussing on the journey itself, to live in the moment, to be grateful for what you have. No matter where life takes you. Because finding your goal (goals) and vision, is just not something that naturally comes to everyone. Life gots to be fun and enjoyable even when you live in uncertainty and you're not sure where all of this leads to. My opinion, of course.

5:00 I would say more important factors for your hobby that would stimulate you in a healthy way would be:
    1. the hobby needs to be social, practice it with other people so you can all share the time together, have fun, laugh, experience and enjoy life
    2. the hobby needs to have some sort of progression built into it, whenever you progress your brain will give you a reward for improving and accomplishing a goal
    3. combining the previous two you get another reward - whenever you get better and get a new skill in your hobby you could impress the other people in your social group or the people with whom you are practicing the hobby - this means you get another reward from your brain - you get to feel good because you receive social approval and admiration

Bruh that's kind of a stupid ideology to be honest, money is a essential resource. It's ok if you don't priorize it as if it was world's top importance, but the value of money shouldn't be subjugated at all. If anything, money should matter more than your family, as it's your money that will save you from specific situations. You'll still rely on the sustenance of certain familial positions in certain cases because they're your support, your financial conditions will be a element throughout the process to serve as your foundation. Not saying you should treat your family like they're worthless, they still have value and are of utility, but money is irrevogably a item of major relevance in your life, as long as you're alive.

The human brain does not thrive on 100% peace, nor on 100% chaos. It thrives where we are in the middle, with chaos and peace pulling and pushing in opposite directions. I used to believe that a "simpler life was best." And it was, for a while. Then the boredom came and my mind was drawn to the chaos for growth, resilience, mindfulness, self-esteem, and purpose. Now I let my mind go where it pleases. There's no more fight. If I feel resentful it's great. When I feel loving it seems to become even greater.

Things starts to get boring when it stops being meaningful.
We need a direction, something to work for, both for ourselves and for something else that goes way beyond our humble person. Could be others, could be an ideal. No matter who you are, you craft your own life by knowing who you are, and what, deep in your heart, you want to bring to your world. As a person, you shine, even if you dont realize that. If you feel bad, you shine black, if you feel fulfilled and strong, you bring your light to the others.
So if you start to get bored in life, i'd suggest to connect with yourself.

If you approach life as if that time is just written off as automatic sleep, and the rest of the day is your only time to work with, you may be more likely to engage in habits which limit your quality of rest. But, if you treat the time you are resting as a crucial component to your fulfilment you will weigh your decisions accordingly.

Life boring or not is more like perception formed by outer exposure to other`s life and by others by other`s life. If you try to rethink everything in your life without comparing, everything is not so bad. But if you feel your life is boring but without outer comparison, then you need to move and quickly. I would like to put a thought I read earlier today
    It goes like
    You’re not lazy
It’s just that ur mind desires a thousand things all at once..making u paralyse nd eventually we end up doing nothing at all
Also, there is nothing called a perfect path…everything requires same amount of sacrifice and effort to succeed init.
This thought is actually making sense even practically..I’ve decided now to complete one goal at a time now and keeping others aside..
Better one by one than nothing at all :)

I agree that chemical balance is important, especially regulating the circuits of dopamine in the brain and body. I love that she touched on the scrolling on social media. I’ve been seeing guilty and disgusted with myself after using Social media. I withdrew from most social media apps but I still feel bad even if I watch tv. Playing games anymore doesn’t make me happy and neither does watching a movie or reading or eating. Journaling doesn’t even help me anymore. I’ve drained all of my entertainment/dopamine solutions out. I really like going outdoors as it’s the only thing that makes me happy but I’d have to go outside every single day which isn’t a isssue but I don’t have a car to drive anywhere. Sitting in the porch doesn’t do much anymore, it gets boring and reparative. I used to go for a run during tu summer but now that it’s winter I can’t. I hate staying in

I achieved great results from yoga and meditation. Loved the results but the routine got boring and I quit.
In my life I found my happiness often comes from others. No I am not dependent, but I like being around people. If I start a routine or something with someone I will often never quit because I don't feel alone. I can just never find anyone and I am often always alone. Ironically I have lots of friends, but they don't particularly want to do the same things with me. The costly and adventurous things I mean.
My life partner wants to do everything with me which is perfect, but we have been in an extreme ldr for many many years and still working on trying to close the distance.

Get into a ton of film genres, watch a lot of shows, get heavily into music, play video games, go hiking, work out, go biking, swimming, just do something. I work from home, and many people ask me why I don't go crazy when I'm at home. It's because I have so damn many interests. Always something new to do, learn or whatever.

Me in my past, at the height of my 15 years in 2020, I was unhappy. I was doing nothing all day, just watching useless things and barely taking a shower. He slept during the day and woke up at night to do nothing.
Until one day I fell in love. It was the best thing that happened to me. And I felt myself changing so drastically, all to be better for that person. I started doing what I liked most, listening to music, singing... and it was so natural. I already had plans to change my situation before this, but I feel like I wouldn't make much progress, I don't know, maybe yes too. Love saves.
1 year later I found out it was all an illusion. Life was hard on me at that time. It's like it was all a mistake.
But everything passes. I'm not saying I'm better now than when I was in love, but I sure am fine. I feel like I'm on the right track. I hope to fall in love again.

One is i don't have any hobby to make my life fulfilling, and i find it very difficult to build a hobby or to find something i truely like. The second is i have very little friend which mean i lack of connection with the world, i find meaningless for doing anything supposed to be interesting just because i don't have anyone to share with. I was in the position of hoping I don't wake up in the morning for literally years. I did keep waking up, and I kept wishing I hadn't. I had a couple of nasty accidents which wrecked my foot, physiotherapists told me something was preventing it from regaining proper movement, but the Doctors told me they couldn't find a problem. Following an operation where my foot was reconstructed, it would seize up after a walk of about a mile, and that was it for anything from 10 days to a week, so one walk a week was very ambitious. In fact my main form of excercise became my weekly food shopping, other than that I was stuck at work on a forklift or in front of the TV. Amputation would have allowed me a better quality of life for that period. It took 7 years for me to twist that ankle, and whatever was causing the problem was fixed as simply as that. The twist was a repurcussion of me actively trying to damage it. I literally wanted to force an operation or amputation. Now I'm still taking it slowly, but that is because I want to build strenth and endurance and ensure that I never end up like that again.
The point is that things don't just happen, you are responsible for creating that change you're waiting for.

If you’re looking for a reason to go outside i recommend geocaching, munzee and pokemon go! Short explanation: in geocaching you find caches (different size containers) in real life. Some are hard to find and some are easy, sometimes you need to solve puzzles in order to find them. Munzee is similar but instead of caches you find QR code stickers. In pokemon go you go around catching pokemon and battling in gyms.
I find all of these super entertaining and sometimes puzzling. It also gives me a reason to go outside for a couple hours

I would cautiously say that I have this time behind me because I found a hobby that I enjoy and has helped me much, but I don't think I'm completely out of the woods yet and sometimes I fall behind a bit, because my hobby is is something manual that takes a lot of time and that you can't do it always but that's okay rather on other things.
