I love you people who have a problem and come prepared with everything but the kitchen sink!
We have owned a couple 58 trucks in the past. The 283 4 bbl is a fun engine and very easy to tune and keep in tune. I adaped a Larger AFB carter 625 CFM to the stock intake on the 283 in our 55 chevy wagon. the stock 4GC had 480 cfm. a bigger carb and hedders really wakes a 283 up.
This truck was part of the David Spiess estate in Ohio. It was his dream to restore it and other trucks that were in his barn. It never happened. So glad you posted this.
We also purchased Davids 56 Chevy 3100 big block video is coming out Monday
Really clean classic and engine sounds nice👍!
Very nice truck Pete
Great video 😊thanks for sharing 👍
By the color blue it is, that engine looks like a Chevy Targetmaster 350 factory replacement engine. I had a 75 Chevelle
that had one in it. Nice truck. Regards from Ody Slim
Beautiful, a very clean and unmolested truck that you guys gave a much needed freshen up! She looks absolutely beautiful with the white walls! I am excited to see how the cream/beige one will turn out.
We agree!
Had that exact 1/2 ton '58 Apache truck years ago in the 90s, a Black one, I paid $500. for it. One thing made it a lot nicer to drive - took out the 4 speed/Granny low trans and floor shift, found and put the street gear 3-speed trans with original column shift back in...much nicer to drive on the road and the column shift is OEM original on that truck. The correct size Whitewalls and stock wheels look great...real tired of seeing nice original Trucks like this slammed and Modern LS/BS converted...can't beat that Original Apache Style
Nice truck. I would go with the chrome grill or paint it white. I have a 58 short bed stepside with the orginal inline 6 with a few mods. Love these old trucks, looking forward to part 2
Good choice!
Good.job. cool truck 😄👍👍👏👏
My old 56 GMC we called the big back window the opera window!
Rattle can magic, spray paint lug nuts, grease caps, rear axil hubs black, touch up bumpers, rust spots in the cab floor, you can get a free color chart at any paint store, match the lite blue from wall-mart and paint the bed floor next get under and paint all rust flat black then pressure wash engine bay and paint valve covers, air cleaner, battery tray, tire wet hoses and tires then go around check the tail gate chains, some one spent a lot of money on restoration and left out in the weather, talk to some restoration experts to get an idea of the value, you may want to go the extra mile on the undercarriage. can't wait for part 2.
Hello they are tough, same year I was born. We break down once in a while, still working in the woods lol
Nice.truck
Beautiful truck. BBW short fleet, damn nice
The blue grill looks good like it is. Your right, stock is better.
I believe that that is a factory color. My dad was a new Chevy salesman and I’m sure I’ve seen them new in that color.
I have the same truck, red with six ,I’m betting that truck came with six, not a v8 emblem. Short bed fleetside r hard to find at reasonable price😊😊
Keep the Small Block, Sick of seeing all these LS Swaps, they don't impress me. Dog Dish Hubcaps would make the look perfect.
Yes Forget that LS Nonsense Keep it with the 283 fix it up some more
I would chrome the grill
Beautiful truck
LOVE OLD CHEVYS
Let's see that 57 you brought with it. Looks like it had a big block in it.
Soon soon It’s next up to edit maybe next week. 1 more video before it unless we head out west next week might get pushed back one more
Sweet.
I have a 5 speed 6 cylinder mustang want to sell it cuz the anti-lock got to it
What year is the 2nd truck that you picked up along with the 1958 fleetside.

Beautiful truck is it going in your personal collection or can it be purchased

I'd keep it original. And why don't you have a lift? Those guys deserve one!
We’ve got a couple lifts. The 4 post just gets in the way. 2 post lift coming soon to this building.
I would just get it mechanically reliable and enjoy it as is.
