- Countryballs - History of North America
North America is a new world, a newly discovered territory. At first glance, it may seem that the history of such a young continent is rather boring and monotonous, but it is not so!
The American continent was first inhabited by Native Americans - they came here several million years ago from Asia by crossing the Bering Strait. The Vikings were the first Europeans to discover America. During the 1st century, they were able to establish a small colony on the territory of modern Canada, but a century later they had to abandon it, as local peoples attacked the colony. After that, everyone forgot about America until the navigator Christopher Columbus landed on the territory of modern Cuba, thereby discovering a new world! After the discovery of America, the Spaniards began their expansion into North America, their example was also taken by the French, British, Dutch who began to establish colonies. Spain colonized all of Central America, Mexico and Cuba. France is the southern territories of Canada and the New France region. England began to colonize the northern part of Canada, and Holland founded a colony - New Amsterdam, which later became captured by the British and renamed New York. The three powers could not calmly divide the land, so the war between France and Great Britain soon began. As a result of the war, France gave Quebec and the Great Lakes to Great Britain, and gave Louisiana to the Spanish Empire, thereby losing all the colonies. There was a shortage of goods in the colonies of Great Britain, and the new king imposed additional taxes on 13 colonies. Discontent arose in them, so they declared independence and declared war on Great Britain, which they won and blocked all the southern territories. Following the War between France and Spain, France regained the colony in America, and in the first year of its ownership sold it to the United States. The United Kingdom and the United States have begun a race to explore the rest of America. He. They moved west, and at the same time in the west, in Alaska, a colony of the Russian Empire was founded - Russian America, which at some time in addition to Alaska owned the territories of modern Vancouver, Oregon, California, as well as Hawaii. Most Indians greeted Russians warmly, however, except for the Tlingit tribe, who forced them to sell all overseas territories to America. At the same time, the great Spanish Empire collapsed, and Mexico emerged in its place - which was much weaker than its neighbor the United States. A separate republic, Texas, broke away from Mexico. Which was soon annexed by the United States. The United States launched a full-scale war against Mexico and seized 1/4 of its lands. After the war, the Civil War began in the United States, in which the United States won, and you will learn more about the history of North America in this video on the Canvas Countryballs channel

Bro, I’m from Mexico so I love this thing. I’m glad you’re putting Greenland in it too.
Yea but Mexican history was so poorly portrayed in it. The Mayans and Aztecs and the other Mexican City-States didn't even show up. And the invasion of the mayans nor aztects didn't show up, and neither did the Mexican Civil war
What about Kalaallit Inuits and their earlier ancestors and other early people in Grönland including the other Scandinavians who came there before Danes came.
Thank you

YOU are really underrated.keep up with your good work!!!
Faltó la intervención Fracesa en México que sucedió al mismo tiempo que la guerra civil de Estados Unidos
Yeah he forgot the invasion of Mexico by Austria and France
There was also no time shown between the Mexican cession and the Gadsden purchase.
This is a underated masterpiece, you deserve 1 million subs
This is why you are the best❤ btw congrate on 100k!
This is a really good video, but I noticed a few innacuracies with Mexico:
1:14 -The spanish invaded Mexico, then central America
4:55-The USCA separated from mexico in 1823, not 1820
5:02-Rio Grande did not appear, nor did the caste war appear
4:59-Texas got it's independence in 1836 and was annexed by the US in 1846
4:43-The limits between Mexico and the US were defined in the adams onis treaty
5:48-The reform war never happened in the video
5:52- In 1861 the 2nd french intervention did not appear in the video
6:39-The mexican revolution did not appear
8:37-That was a nice detail!
He also forgot the fact the english didnt attack the dutch territories but traded them for Surinams
Tienes razón pero al menos si supo dónde estaba mexico que luego nos confunden con sudamerica 😅
8:37 I cannot understand
@@angelhuitrado9603 In 8:37 is the Zapatista uprising and the war on drugs
@@JZ-Historia Claro que no, si te fijas bien son zonas de gentrificación. Nada tienen que ver los zapatistas en los Cabos por ejemplo
The french arrived in 1534 in America and took possession of some territory in the name of the king of France. In 1603 began the colonisation of New-France and Québec was founded in 1608.

@@ITAmiky01The French invasion of Mexico began in 1861 when France, under Emperor Napoleon III, decided to intervene in Mexico's affairs. The pretext for the invasion was Mexico's suspension of foreign debt payments, but the underlying motive was to establish a French-friendly regime in Mexico and to counter the influence of the United States in the region.
During the war, French forces, along with troops from Austria, Belgium, and other European countries, faced resistance from Mexican forces loyal to President Benito Juárez. The conflict dragged on for several years, with battles fought across Mexico. However, the Mexican resistance, aided by guerrilla warfare tactics and support from the United States, gradually weakened the French position.
The turning point came in 1866 when the United States, which had been preoccupied with its Civil War, began exerting diplomatic pressure on France to withdraw its troops from Mexico. With the end of the American Civil War, the U.S. increased its support for Juárez's government, making it clear that further French intervention would not be tolerated.
In 1867, facing mounting military and diplomatic pressure, French forces began withdrawing from Mexico. Maximilian, who had been installed as Emperor by the French, was captured by Mexican Republican forces and executed in June 1867. With Maximilian's death and the withdrawal of French troops, the French intervention in Mexico effectively came to an end, and Benito Juárez resumed his presidency.

Cinco de Mayo was the day that Mexicos army defeated French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, during the French intervention in Mexico. Although the victory at the Battle of Puebla was a morale boost for Mexico, it did not ultimately halt the French invasion, which continued until 1867.

I absolutely love countryballs, also geography. But im from the central american country named Honduras, the one at the very bottom of the video. And i was kinda dissapointed cuz i wanted to see the United Provinces Of Central America and all the other countries gain their independence from spain, as they are from north america too. Since central america is too small to become its own continent.

How many times are you gonna make this video
Two weeks
Day 1 of waiting for this man to make the history of canada
Soon
You missed one BIG event in US and Canadian history: The War of 1812. Britain was kidnapping American sailors and violating the 1783 Treaty of Paris so the US declared war on them again and tried to invade Canada as well. In the end, the Canadian invasion was repelled, but the British armies and their native tribe allies were eventually defeated on US soil, resulting in a draw (it didn't hurt for the United States though that the British were simultaneously tangled up in the Napoleonic Wars). It's the war that also produced Johnny Horton's famous ballad "The Battle of New Orleans".
Bro, took some time just to write that all
