This is how I think history education should be, I'm serious. Just enough information for almost any person, unless you're really interested or you plan to become a historian. Without diving too deep into details and specific dates, just gives you the overall idea of what happened. This is how it needs to be.

It’s good for a general idea of what happened which is good to have even if u don’t particularly find history interested
Whenever he brings up a person or event that really interests me I just look it up, what you said is perfect, he says enough that you understand what happened and if you want to know more you easily can
my teacher put a 3 hour documentary for 3 whole classes straight, as you could probably guess, nobody paid any attention. This is 30min long (if you count part 2) and I learned more and felt entertained watching. thank you.

We still pay the 'Stamp tax' in the UK, we call it Stamp duty and whenever someone buys a house over a certain price they pay a % in tax towards the government. When David Cameron was Prime Minister he scrapped Stamp Duty for first time buyers in order to help them get onto the property ladder. Part of the Economic Covid relief efforts of the current Government they've frozen stamp duty all together so you don't have to pay it if you're buying a house till a later date.

Except, the part you left out was the total tax as a percentage of income, was about 1%. Or about 1/30th of what Americans pay today in their taxes, or about 1/25th of what people in late 1700's England were paying in their taxes. Don't fall for the brainwashing that is taught as US history.

These videos are great, I know they’re simplified as by the channels name but I’ve learnt quite a bit.
I can remember learning history in school but it was boring as hell, this jazz’s it up, makes it way more interesting and covers the important and less important points, which all end up going into your brain way easier. 👍
My french teacher is also my history teacher and she made us learn about the war between Montréal (where I live) and the British. The one that lasted 30 minutes. It was quite funny, actually.

This only further upset the colony’s since, many were wanting to migrate west. It also helped spark the revolutionary war
