  • Sam demonstrates two ways to cut around the face, taking it from short in the center to long on the sides. This twist cutting technique is great for cutting a fringe or for framing a face shape.

    Sam, I'm not a hairstylist. I've been fascinated with haircutting since I was a child. I grabbed a pair of scissors and cut my own hair! I watch your videos to maintain a nice looking fringe all the time between haircuts. Your demonstrations and techniques are wonderful! Thank you for your videos. They are very much appreciated!

    Just wanted to thank you Sam for really taking the time to go over your techniques slowly especially for those of us who have been out of the field for awhile and are looking to get back into the field but are lost to the newer techniques of cutting and coloring. Most tutorials go so fast it leaves you flustered, so thank you again!

      I have an at-home hairdresser come visit me. They are usually a lot cheaper than salons as they are working for themselves and have no salon to give a cut of their pay to. See if you have one operating in your area. Facebook is a good tool for finding one xXx

    Hello, I am not a hair stylist but I have a very hard time finding a good stylist around my area. Watching your video you make it look so easy. The hardest thing for me to do when cutting my own hair is framing my face. I just started watching you today, I have subscribed to your videos now. I think I could learn a lot from watching you. Watching you cut hair it's almost like watching somebody dance. The way you comb hair and cut it with such precision, the sweeping flow of your hands. Between combing and cutting, it looks like one smooth move.
    Idk if all that makes sense. Haha But anyway Thank you for the help you give us homebound hair cutters 😊 you are great

      Hi Dina! Definitely appreciate the suggestion. There is a "hack" for lefties with technical videos. You can download the video to your desktop and use a program like iMovie to flip the video side to side which creates a mirror image. Then, it looks as if we are left handed! Its a lot of extra steps but we will continue to look into options for our lefty friends out there!

    I just did this on myself after watching video, i love it, turned out great. P.s. i know cutting your own hair isnt best, but im super careful and go little at the time and have been doing it for years now just to trim my ends and frame face subtly, nothing dramatic, i like long hair. I had my hair ruined years ago in a salon and i have curly hair which grows soooooo friggin slow... im never trusting anyone again (also cant afford expensive pros to do my hair :c)
    Great video!

  • @genie121
    @genie121 4 года назад

    Sometimes you just want your face framing to be trimmed up. And hairdressers now refuse to do it unless you pay for the whole cut. Back in the days they would charge a small fee and just trim your feathers without the need to cut your whole hair. So I’ve been using Sam technique at home in between cuts and everyone always thinks I’ve had a hair cut. But it makes a difference!!!!

    Love this video!! It's outstanding! My question is :
    What if your client have very long thin hair and doesn't want to take to much length off but wants that blunt face frame with shortest length from the nose, how would you do that?? Would you just section off the top/mid portion only?
