- Big news for Google Pixel fans! We're finally seeing movement on the new relationship with Google and TSMC to make the Google Tensor G5 chip for the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro series phones for 2025! This is a huge step breaking away from Samsung to make a better chip to help the Pixel 10 perform better and compete with Snapdragon, Samsung phones, and other handsets.

Kinda off topic but is it just me or his shirt is put on inside out 😂
No. It’s not.
Yes he had a rough night 😂
Edit: yes it is. 😂

Sorry to hear about the last part tho
Skipping the Pixel 9 Pro upgrade for the 10 Pro!
My Pixel 6 is still running good so sticking to that until then...
Good move. Me too
I agree between 4 to 5 years you can change a phone

Thank you for your service, Adam. I hope your back is feeling better.
I hope so too. Thank you
@TechOdyssey Thank you for your service. I hope that you and yours enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend, while you honor and remember your fellow service men and women who never came home.🇺🇸
@@abowolewa absolutely. Thank you and take care!
The fact that Samsung went full Snapdragon chips and stopped using their own Exnos chips in their own phones says all you need to know about Samsung foundry services. 😂
"Don't trust a cook who doesn't eat their own food"
lol. A very reasonable point
I believe they use their chips in phones for other markets.
Exynos on the S24 and Plus here in New Zealand. If you want the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 you have to buy the Ultra. I'm sure we're not the only country, either.
I can't wait for this. Looking forward to the 10 series.

More of the 11
so happy we're getting this news. I plan to upgrade my phone next year
Honestly it's funny that people are so hung up on the tensor not having top of the line performance. Google made a smart decision to build up their neural cores rather than their CPU and GPU cores. It will be good to have a better fabrication though, not saying that doesn't matter.
Yes but not with Exynos as it's no good it'd be better made by someone else
Totally agree with ya. I personally don’t care about Exynos Snapdragon as long as Pixel is doing its AI magic well and it is indeed doing better than anyone right now. Gamers etc can go for Samsungs with Snapdragon but honestly if next generations of Pixel will be dumb phones I am outta here
Have you actually compared SD3 to Tensor 3 NPU performance?
Definitely keeping regular P8 till P10. It's about time!
Thanks for the memorial Day shout out, and thanks to those who have served!!
For sure. Take care and have a great holiday!
Happy Memorial Day, Adam. Again, thanks for your service. Love those amazing pics you shared with us in the past. Been thinking about my next phone already (gotta save up these days for the $1k phones!) This definitely helps me to plan for the next phone. Currently on the Pixel 8 Pro and loving it.
Thanks for this video! That's the phone I'll be waiting for to come out. Pixel 6 Pro hasn't been a great experience for me, just yesterday I was filming using the snapchat camera and after a few mins, a notification popped up saying that my phone was getting warm and the video started to lag as well. Hopefully TSMC can produce a great chip for Pixel 10 series.
Based on early numbers it seems like the difference between the 8 gen 4 and the G4 is going to be enormous. Pixel 9 owners might not be feeling so good when they see what the s25 and the OnePlus 13 can do.
@hieveryone2003 you're right most ppl don't care about specs..I do because I play games and do alot of multitasking tho
@@devilkazumi578 the minority,we usuallycarefor cameras
Camera for me is the number one thing I look for. Innovation and improvement in this area is paramount when I look for my new phone. AI features is now something I look at also.
First, I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!! Thanks goes out to all the servicemen whose sacrifice gave us our freedom, so thank you!!🙏🙏 Thank you for the update!! Keep up the great work, I always enjoy watching your informative videos
Im excited ☺️ i always enjoy Google updates and upgrades
You're right. That was a blow to LG. I was an LG enthusiastic all the way back to the G2. The jump from the 820/821 to the 835 was significant. That made the s8 a much better device. And LG was still reeling from the G4 and the 808 bootloop issue.
Really much as I'm glad they're moving away from Samsung chips. I have no real complaints with my Pixel 8 pro. In heavy use the s24+ or ultra last a little longer on a battery charge but other than that I can barely differentiate between them. And the pixel camera is so good.
Let's hope the tensor chips keep getting better. TSMC should be better than exynos based Tensors. I'm more or less expecting the Tensors to be 1-2 years behind the snapdragons performance wise.
Thank you for your service Adam
Much appreciated. Thank you. 🙏🏻
I've got the pixel 6, but I was thinking about upgrading to the pixel 9 , but now hearing about the new chip going into next year's phone pixel 10 , maybe I'll just wait, QUESTION, do you know what chip will be in the Samsung s25?.
TSMC making the G5 will take the Pixel to new heights and hopefully allow it to finally be the beast it was meant to be. Really looking forward to the Pixel 10 series!
Worth waiting for 10 series instead of buying a phone this year.
@sib1212 I personally say why put off tomorrow what you can do today if you want a phone right now or you want the Pixel 9 bad you don't know what's in store for next year. So if you need a phone, buy the phone that you can buy at this present moment.
Any thoughts 💭 on tensor 4?
I’m one of those who has been waiting for this. When I sold my S22U last year thanks to Exynos and its unreliable battery I was actually hoping to get a Pixel. The reviews were so mixed though that I felt like I was gonna play Russian roulette, it was off putting.
I’m happy to see that this might change in the near future.
Sony Xperia VI would be the best choice for you i think
Insightful information. But, somehow the the " inside out shirt " and " sore back " gets focused on. ...Ive been wondering if you were impacted by the bad weather. Thanks for being a top notch trooper.
I had a Pixel 8 pro, it was my first pixel phone. camera was great , software was great , screen was great too battery life was ok. Unfortunately the phone regularly overheated , causing the screen to dim and slow the phone down. I ended up trading my pixel for a Xiaomi 14 ultra. The difference between between the Tensor 3 and the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 is huge.
One of the reason I switched from the Pixel 8 Pro to the OnePlus 12 was because of the chip. I don't regret at all, the 12 is beast and it kills the P8P in terms of battery. When Pixel will get back snapdragon I will consider it again
Btw, thank you for your service. Have a happy memorial day weekend with your family!
Thanks! You too! I appreciate it
Thanks for the update. I have a Pixel 8 Pro, and I kinda wish I waited for the S24 Ultra.
Too excited
Adam thank you for your service.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
off topic, but my Pixel 8 Pro has been dropping significantly since May update, I thought it was the SIM at first apparently it's not as it's working fine on my other devices, is anyone facing a similar issue ? I really hope they fixi t.
Hi, TechOdyssey first of great video. I like to ask your opinion on whether i should get a pixel 8 pro or just wait for pixel 9. The main reason is for photography. Thoughts
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. What are you currently using?
@@TechOdyssey i also think of getting pixel 8 pro a temporary phone.
Pixel 8
@@ItsBrown__ do you think pixel 8 is a better option. I saw that pixel 8 has ram issues.
Apples new 3 nm has had heat issues and they use tsmc so tsmc can be a ? As well
Crapple "perfected" the heating issue /s
The heating issue still exist when you push the phone it gets quite warm
@@techierg1862 Their processors are inefficient with sustained performance. Can only brag about their first attempt in synthetic benchmark scores.
I bought my first Pixel a month ago, it's a Pixel 8 Pro. I really like the phone, it sometimes gets a bit too warm, but it's bearable. Apart from that the performance is very good, cameras are great, stock Android experience is just DOPE. Previously I was on OnePlus 9 Pro and to be honest I like Google Pixel much more than OnePlus.
It's about time😊
I have 4 phones with Snapdragon SOC's that were produced by Samsung. They were all midrange for their time. They are Snapdragon 632, 665, 662, and 750. I think the 765 was also produced by Samsung but I don't have one of those.
If you're a heavy user pixel isn't the one.
I still got my pixel 4a, photos & videos are amazing! Will pixel 10 better on camera than pixel 4a?
Maybe release the pixel fold 2 with the new chip?
I wish. It should have the Tensor 4 though
If the Tensor 4 turns out to be a huge jump from the Tensor 3, TSMC is the GOAT
Yes its make best Snapdragon ships
8 gen 1 is made by samsung and its very bad.. 8+gen1 is huge better and 8gen 2 and now 8gen 3 TSMC
Here’s to hoping.
I think tensor 5 is coming with tsmc and not 4
Date release for pixel fold 2 ?

Definitley Keeping my 8 pro until 10 pro comes out now! 😎
Happy Memorial Day😊
Thank you. You too!
My pixel 7 pro is overheating like crazy. I just upgraded to the s24 ultra which should be here Tuesday. Ive been pretty disappointed with the overall experience with the pixel and Google fi themselves. Dunno...
I jump to the 8 pro.. it's been better the 7 pro..
You’re going to love the ultra
True story
You’re going to see a rise in cost too; the Pixel will be just as expensive as iPhones and Galaxy phones. Exynos modems was used to save money.
While this is true, them switching to tsmc may only increase the cross slightly depending on what dye they use from them and whatnot. They ,as still use a Samsung modem as qualicomm, are super stingy on their components, and only Apple has gotten them to allow their modems to be used without the whole soc coming from quailcomm directly. That would most certainly raise the cost a lot if they end up doing that, but would make there products much better in the long run
I like the content! Don't know if your using w new mic but it doesn't sounds the best
I am using a new mic. I messing with the settings trying to dial it in
They need to iron out performance and quality control for me to possibly switch. Its hard to go from Samsung to Google when their quality in hardware/software seems to be more stable opposed to Google.
And let me customize the darn at a glance and search bar and lock screens
Read this yesterday it's fab news
You can make a great phone soc but manufacturers still need to add ways to dissipate heat cause when you push a soc in a small phone with gaming they will get hot I don’t care who makes the soc, so you need to make a thicker phone with fans or be innovative find some solutions to keep the soc cool cause many these days push there phones to the extreme with gaming and editing of videos and photos which uses a lot of processing power.
It's true when you say that Samsung chips aren't necessarily bad but they are indeed not consistent, not even in the same line of chips. Example, I've used two Samsung A53 devices. The one was absolutely dreadful with lagging at times, inconsistent behaviour in terms of smoothness and so on while the other A53 with the same chip ran very well. Even the A34 which uses the same chip as the A53 did much better as well. These are European versions to be clear. This kind of behaviour reminds me of the budget offerings of Huawei in the old days. Some units were fine while others were total crap although they were the same device.
He's checking if your paying attention 😂
S24 with exynos was great!
Lol because you don't know any better😮
I’ve heard good things about it
What modem would they use? No way Qualcomm sells Google separate modems without the chip. A TSMC made chip will mean nothing if they still use a shit Exynos modem
They did exactly that with apple, though. Google has a lot of money to spend, so they can definitely set up a contract with them. The problem is that it will also increase the price of the product by quite a bit. That said, it would definitely make the users much more comfortable than using the Samsung modems, which are worse. I have a feeling that will still see Samsung modems just due the fact that they still have a lot of parts from them
@@midnitestateCan't see Qualcomm doing this for Google. Apple sells hundreds of millions of phones.
💪💪💪💪💪💪
Simply stopping all the spy ware goggle uses would make a large improvement in speed, battery life etc. This can be shown by testing a Google pixel phone running Google vs the same. model running Graphene or Calynx Os.
Maybe you shouldn’t use a Google phone if you’re that concerned
Do you have a condition? I notice sometimes your eyes/face twitches and shifts a bit. Just wondering what that could be.
He got the pixel virus 😂 (just a joke)
I have Tourette’s.

I don't use all the features of my 6. It does take nice pictures. Phone is solid and works just fine.

I’m starting to like google phones
We have to wait for 10 to get a better modem? I hope not, by then I will have a different phone.
The pixel 9 should have a new modem
So I'll wait for the 10 then?
I don't like exynos the only reason I don't buy Samsung in the UK anymore but this year I have heard the exynos is really good in the s24
Ive lost hope in samsung i feel like samsung moving more towards software area and pixel is advancing in hardware which is great for me i guess il wait for the pixel 10 or pixel fold 3 2025
I still don't think Tensor is so bad. With the 8Pro that I have now, I'd say that it's average.
As a longtime pixel owner, I'm on my 3rd with the 8 Pro, this is a mistake going to TSMC, not that they don't make great chips, they do.....
But betting your house on a place that could be invaded by China is not a good move, we product and location diversity.
TSMC is going to open a factory in Phoenix, Arizona.
@@BrtoLopzso they will be fine no worries😊
Dude you're being paranoid😱 nothing's going to happen in that regard😮
No paranoia involved, China is going to make a move on Taiwan in the next few years.@@EconomyisFine-oe1se
@@BrtoLopzTSMC will be keeping the most advanced production for Taiwan.... Now if China does invade and take Taiwan the US will scuttle the chip factories but that won't help the supply chain.
Not only that but I don't like monopolies
You will change your mind in an hour
TSMC already cant handle their current load and keep getting rid of employees. All this is gonna do is drop quality and delay phone production then we'll have 2 overwhelmed companies
I’m pretty certain it will be just fine
Tensor will only become relevant after the third tsmc gen chip comes out
The only thing that was stopping me from trying Pixel is their inferior Samsung manufactured Tensor chip
They are still going to be making the lesser modem
Still no 5g in Africa on google devices
Sorry to hear that
It's good news for Pixel phones hopefully, but unfortunately it won't mean a thing to 99% of the phone buying public
I remeber my Pixel 6 and 7a. They were both horrible devices. Constant overheating, reboiting because if the immense throttling caused by the overheating, signal loss while on the open road and my old LG V30 had to take over from BOTH of them. Nope, the tensor is a terrible chip.
what does it matter? All phones are overpowered. Even ones from like 5 years ago
What do you mean?????
Uhhhh…. Not so much
I can't even use a pixel because I'm so spoiled with customization on Samsung. I loved the pixel 7 but it was just too boring. If pixel ever gets floating/pop up windows and automation (like Samsung's modes and routines or iPhone's shortcuts) then I'd love to go back to a pixel but honestly all pixel has is the call screening, voice dictation, and first new os upgrades. 🤷🏾♂️ I'll probably just stick with Samsung
lols google switching to tsmc doesn't mean people will switch to goggle phone.
I already knew this. Problem is this year's new Tensor chip will be as bad as last years
😂 If most skip the 9 series then it won't be a problem but fans will eat it up regardless
I’m sure it will be improved and the G3 wasn’t bad
G5 will make circles around iphones... with AI and power!
Basically it's hand me down tech from Samsung.... Google picking up the crumbs
Don’t buy pixel 9! Got it
🤐
Google need to leave Samsung all together even with the display.. they just giving Google their leftovers. Google can get their display from LG or Sony..
SD 8Gen1 ... Made by Samsung and it was a dumpster 🔥, SD 8+ Gen 1 made by TSMC and it was night and day.
Took them long enough
This guy flip flops on pixel every week

What’s your point?
@@TechOdyssey The point is the people that talk bad about the pixels will never change to it. Can’t please haters at the cost of the google pixel department.
@@tedlessor3887 that is not the point of what you said
@@TechOdyssey You asked, I answered 🤷🏾♂️

The way you talk about TSMC "making" the Tensor 5 misses the point that they do not do the design. I think you should be noting that there is a difference between making (i.e. fabrication)) and design. Xynos are both designed and fabricated by Samsung. Tensor are designed by Google (albeit starting with an Xynos design) and fabricated by Samsung. Qualcomm designs chips and TSMC/Samsung fabricate for them. TSMC is primarily a fabrication company. I think TSMC will have better quality control, but they will still be fabricating a Google designed chip. May be better, may not. I do not know that Google has the design chops to rival Qualcomm even with a better fabricator.
Stop being so melodramatic.
Stop being so anti dramatic
google will be better by pixel 11 but Samsung and apple will still be ahead i thick personally they should sel to Samsung to take over pixel phones
Oh god no. The moment Samsung gets their hands on Pixel phones, it'll be a bloat ware mess. Also aside from their SOC, Apple is not ahead of Google in any way possible. If anything Apple has been lagging behind everyone for the past few years.
Lol but it's all Samsung tech.... SMH
They make good stuff. Then Apple uses Samsung components.
why dont you just switch to iphone already and stop punishing yourself with these subpar experiences?
Some ppl don't like iphones they're boring to me tbh and way too restrictive
Subpar experience? The pixel 8 pro is solid. And so are the other Android phones I use
