While I do enjoy Matt's videos always entertaining, I have to admit that whenever the game involves upgrade/gambling, he's quite painful to watch as there's 0 strategy in his choices. Just tunnel vision to get "better" X as quickly as possible while hampering himself by not using anything that could help him along the way.

Moral of this video is don't let your engineers gamble.
It's best not to let them off their leash. You don't want them gambling, or messing on the floor.
The worst enemy of RCE isn't architects, his real enemy is greed, I hope RCE never bets in a casino, seeing his decisions in this game, betting and making future decisions is not his thing.
And thus we learn that RCE has a gambling problem

The Golden Monkey Brain Matt discarted was such a loss, 15% damage per card on hand for all towers and garrisons would have been amazing
I was looking for this comment. His choice was 2 towers that weren't his damage type focus, or a card that could massively upgrade his damage, and he completely ignored it.
The fact that you're in the hell means that you're the main architect there
All those chances to get better health or regen and Matt didn't pick a single one...

@@Freestyle4evr Ya he was throwing away actions early trying to get the advance structures leaving only stones to upgrade his structures.
I love that clippy the paper clip is in the game, as he said, it truly is hell.

Only RCE's gambling addiction can stop the forces of Hell!
(Which, in this case, allowed all the architects to escape.)
I cannot believe the number of times you threw away a "Discard your hand and increase tower and garrison damage by 15% for each card discarded" card.

Sunder doesn't seem like a good card unless you can increase it's distance. Neat game though.
This is why it hurt when he sacced the "divine sight" (increase range by 10%), a card that afaik you can't get other than the starting hand and iirc no other way to raise that stat, at the very start.
@@feha92 That's good to know. I was thinking of picking up the game so I like to have some strategy when going in.
@@Timithydwolftbf, I only played it ages ago, so stuff might have changed. I saw a huge load of cards I didn't recognize, or that were changed somehow. So might no longer be true (but as I never saw any other range increases in the video, I assume it is).
Sunder can be descent if you max out the range and focus on damage, but its quite hard if you're focusing just on them.
If anything you need to add other hellfire damage to such a build.
I love when you play TD games cuz i end up getting them and having loads of fun as well.
Oh... He got rid of Monkey Brain... It looks like it says "discard" and not "destroy" so potentially that card could have been a +60% damage to all sources every time he drew it. Plus he got the card twice in the run... oh well.

He skipped “Guns of God” twice. From what I remember, at least one was a GOLD Guns of God. JUST USE A FEW GARRISONS, THEY SEEM TO HAVE INFINITE RANGE!

I would be tempted to upgrade everything I could also, but you have to use your mana(?) every turn. It's a wasted resource otherwise.

at 17:08 if you used monkey brain you would have gotten a 105% damage increase to ALL damage.

Motorway Matt is truly doing the Lord's work by keeping those architects in Hell.
Gets rid off all the cards that increase hellfire damage by 30% to try and get better cards, which, statistically wouldn't be better than raw damage at this point. Choses tower slots late game instead of increasing attack speed by 40%... Instead of increasing all towers attack speed by 40%, adding a slot, at best, means you increase your overall dps by at MOST 25%... VS attack speed, which ultimately almost doubles your dps per tower. Smh.
If you get a mouth on Gluttony.... what do you get on Lust? You know, you might have to censor that level.

The cards and mechanics have been tweaked a lot since it was shot.
Did they roll back some changes, or is RCE playing on a very old version? I haven't played for weeks, but last I did you didn't use cards for your starting structures, you just pick before your run starts, and the game completely stopped time when you were in build phase rather than just slowing to a crawl. I doubt they would have rolled that second one back considering they explicitly said it was a bug...

Day fifty nine of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune
It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet.
It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).
As Douglas Adams wrote, “The secret is to bang the rocks together guys!” :).
