    At a guess I would say most people just didn't like how simple the games were. Each map seemed to roughly have one solution, if the bridge held it's own weight you passed. The "Stress" meters for traffic seemed to barely be a factor. For most part all you had to do was use most the pieces and be under budget and you pass.
    Maybe the harder maps got more complicated but I would imagine a lot of people don't want to wait hours of playing through the easier modes to get to something fun and challenging. Never mind there is no free build or random mode I think. Meaning once you go through all the challenges that is it, as again there is basically one solution to each map. No replay value for cheaper builds or the like.

    What i've learned from this type of videos is that you want the highest or lowest rating as a game dev. The mid games are the ones that never gets played.

    I was surprised Bridge 2 is considered one of the worst bridge building games. I played it a few years back and thought it was fine.

    I have a question you might know the answer to: Are real brdges built stronger than they have to be? In the games you can get away with the bridges taking stress when under load, 10%, 15%, even 90%.. do real bridges have that or are they always made to have over 100% integrity?

    • @besser-nicht
      @besser-nicht 11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, bridges got build stronger than they have to be. When bridges are weaker they collapse because of their own weight. All bridges need to carry more weight then them self

    The first one feels like it's got the low score because they've made the margins so slim for success that there is only ONE singular solution with only just enough pieces to do it. Unlike others that let you experiment and go over budget/give you enough budget and pieces for wiggle room to have solutions with room to save on the budget and be more efficient

    All the bridge constructor games give the wrong impression, that vehicles add significant load to a large/steel bridge.
    This is barely even true for wooden hanging bridges. The mass of vehicles and people is insignificant compared to the mass of the bridge.
    Of course, poorly maintained bridges happened to collapse during large circus parades, where a bridge was fully loaded with people and heavy traffic, ideally hanging bridges being overloaded only on one road side, tilting the bridge enough, so that half of all cables carry nothing.
    In the end, only bridge builder sims that have an earthquake button are somewhat realistic, for simulating fatigue.

    The first one was definitely bad but the sequel just really needs some polish. Defaulting to German rather than checking the user's system language and starting with that if it's a supported language is a particularly bad mistake. Past that, the biggest issue is just the tutorial. Though that weird camera in the boat level is something that should be fixed as well.

    @RealCivilEngineerGaming
    On behalf of the German Minister of Transport, Dr. Volker Wissing, I have been instructed to send you two messages
    First
    You have proven that as a professional you have the ability to build bridges as an engineer.
    (This game was made to find "Gemany's Next Engineer" :D )
    The request is hereby made to renovate Germany's dilapidated bridges (4000 ones of 130 000)
    Secondly
    You have violated various laws, you have neither submitted an application nor drawn up a planning approval procedure for environmental impact; or an award of the trades was not announced, too.
    A Red Notice has hereby been issued to you.
    Best regards
    Minister of transport
    Comment may contain traces of satire (and tragedly also truth 🙈) (Best wishes from Germany)
