Seizures happen due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain. It could range from Tonic-clonic seizure, partial seizure, absence seizures in children or sometimes it may just have sensory disturbances.

This is a great educational video. A lot of people don't know there are different types of seizures and think all seizures are grand mal. It's embarrassing for me when I have a seizure in public because people stare at me like I'm some crazy lunatic on drugs or something. One time I had one at school and woke up in a room with two police officers interrogating me and thought I was on drugs. They kept trying to make me confess I was on drugs and I kept explaining to them it was a seizure, but they didn't believe me because they thought all seizures were grand mal.

Most people even some Drs. only become concerned if it's a gran mal. Otherwise they tell you you're just stressed or it was just anxiety or tremors and may recommend talk therapy.

I suffer from tonic clonic (or however you write it) seizures and it’s pretty heavy, i had one last monday and seeing this video helps me understand why people tend to panic when seeing me have one. Very informative! Thank you. I recently found out I may be having seizures and we've been having a hard time describing what they look like to Drs. It's hard to put this is words for those who witness it, because watching me (someone they know) go through it suddenly causes an emotional response from them. It's hard to stay calm and observe carefully when you're frightened and surprised, so this will help them get an idea of what they must look for in the future and help them identify features when/if there are repeats.

I was born with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. I have a twin brother, i was born first. My brother was born with no problems. I take phenytoin for my epilepsy, as a child I was on phenabarbatone, then at 14 i was put on Epilim 500mg. Which caused me to gain lots of weight. I went to live in Canada for a few years where I was taken off eperlim & switched to phenytoin. Which I still take today. As a child I had grand mal seizures, which doctors said I would grow out of. Which I did, but I now have petit mal. It' feels weird when I have it, i can hear all thats going on around me, but ppl and any noise, sound much louder, plus it feels like I'm floating on water. Before the seizure I get the smell like burnt toast. I can have a seizure at any time, night or day. Unpredictable. I feel a little confused when I come round, which lasts for a couple of minutes, then I'm back with you again. Usually a cup of tea helps me recover. I read a lot of blogs where people who shared their testimonies kept mentioning Anti-seizure Herbal medication. I searched for a website I just followed the email address of Doctor Patrick that was shared on these testimonies; I got lucky when I got a reply from Dr. Patrick. I followed his instruction, used Herbal Medicine in less than 2 months, I was already cure because of the changes I was seeing. Within a period of 5 months, I was cured totally forever. I went back to my neurologist, I was checked up and marked epilepsy free. If you need his help you can Contact this herbal doctor via his email herbalmedicalhome@gmail.com and WhatsApp connection is +2348102558553 for help...

the grand mal seizures scare me the most. my brother (who was in highschool at the time) had these almost every week. they scare the shit out of me, i was only 6 and i remember my parents telling me its nothing to worry about and everything will be okay but from what i recall all i could think about was my closed door, hearing "ITS HAPPENING" followed by a tumble and my parents footsteps booming through the house to get to my brother in the restroom. i had seizures too but i could still tell where i was and even navigate (drunkenly) to my parents room, but what my brother went through scares me. they say you grow out of it, and i havent had one since i was 16 but idk man. does it ever come back?

I am suffering myoclonic seizures and I was shamed by so many people, it got worst and because my parents tought it was something about anxiety or just my akwardness it got worst and worst... When I was diagnosed in my 20's it was the same time I was diagnosed with asthma, and it was a hard year for me but I know at last what was wrong this whole time... People need to know because some people suffer too much

I actually used to have epilepsy very young and mine would tend to be random fainting or I’d just stop and forget everything and I would vaguely hear my mum saying “Lucia do you know my name, where are we right now”
my parents said it was terrible to see me in that state
and eventually my brain made me stop learning new things and make me forget things that I already know like how to speak so I took speech lessons for 3 years
But also I remember being told I kept having seizures in assembly and teachers would carry me out
And not to mention the medication I took at the time made me uh I don’t know how to describe it like angry where I would be small tempered
But now it’s a little hard for me to learn things quickly still but I’m much better and I’m proud to say I’m no longer epileptic :))
