Opening performance at the 50th anniversary of the IKO Kyokushin-kaikan/Tokyo Japan.‘‘Te-Uchi’

This Amazing picture is extremely precious performance called ‘‘Te-Uchi’’(meaning of hand clapping in English)by the top intellectual ‘‘Geiko’’(professional entertainer trained in traditional dancing and music)girls from ‘‘‘Gion”area in Japanease old capitol city,Kyoto.Its origin was a ceremony for conclusion of agreement between Kabuki (Japanease traditional opera )actors and theaters over 400 years ago in Kyoto.At the present also,the Te-Uch has been performed at a restricted area in Kyoto for a long time as one of traditional/celemony at an auspicious event or party without the contract,however we seldom or never have opportunities to meet the celemony even in Kyoto because of closed and rare performance,much less to have the chance in Tokyo.This valuable and supreme performance is equivalent to a ‘‘cultural treasure”.So fortunately, we watch such a great traditional entertainment.
この素晴らしい映像は、日本の古都、京都の祇園地区からの精選された芸妓（伝統舞踊と音楽の訓練を受けたプロ）の皆様による「手打」（英語でハンドクラッピングの意味）と呼ばれるとても貴重なパフォーマンスです。その起源は、400年以上前の京都で行われていた歌舞伎（日本の伝統的なオペラ）俳優と劇場との間の契約締結の為の調印式でした。現在でも「手打」は、契約とは関係なく慶事での伝統的なパフォーマンス、セレモニーとして京都の限られた地域で、長い間続いていますが、一般公開されておらず頻度も少ない為、私達は京都でさえ殆ど観る機会がありません。ましては東京で観られる機会は皆無です。この価値のある最高のパフォーマンスは、「文化的な宝」に等しく、私達は、そのような素晴らしい伝統的なエンターテインメントを観ることが出来て、とても幸せです。
