    Great tip! Didn't realize there are washers specifically designed for skid plates. Thus their name.
    I see 3 different styles;
    Domed, the style presented in this video.
    Cupped, which actually recesses the bolt head flush with the skid plate/pan.
    and,
    Plain, resembles a fender washer but is called a "plain steel plate washer"...how did that get in my google search results?
    Seems to me the cupped would bottom out before your skid plate/pan is actually flush to your frame.
    Or am I missing something?
    I like the domed...more material there to do what the washer is primarily doing...Holding down, or actually up your skid plate against the frame.
    ...unless you flip your vehicle, then it's down.
    ...holding together!
    I'm actually procrastinating the task of deciding which deal to go with.
    The custom color, anodized aluminum looks cool. I would hate to scratch that...🙄

    What does the bolt screw into.... you use rivnuts in place of the hole?

      Exactly. Once the rivet is removed you can drill the hole up to accept a rivnut. BOOM you now have a serviceable skid plate.
      Two tips if you are going to install rivnuts.
      1- when compressing the rivnut in place, make sure the lip on the outside of the rivnut is parallel to the surface of skid. Or said another way we want to make sure when the bolt is installed it is perpendicular to the surface of the skid plate. So it holds the washer flat against the skid plate. If the rivnut is installed crooked, then the bolt will be crooked and the washer will not sit flat.
      2- if you have access to a welder, a small tack on the outside lip of the rivnut holding it to the tube can help hold it in place.
      Bonus tip -Using anti-seize instead of Loctite may help, as anti-seize can prevent corrosion/oxidation. Allowing you to remove the hardware without damaging the bolt or spinning the rivnut in its bore. But best to test before going on any multi-day tours.
