Its not possible since aero needs a theme that's probably deleted so you need to download a skin to do aero in Windows 11. The reason why the basic theme is still there is IDK

@@Flowinglimit Yeah in a way. Vista did alot of new architectural changes on Windows at that time that is still a foundation to current Windows and paved the way for the features we have now. Windows desktop now is pretty much still "Vista"-based.

Since 2010 or 2011 when Windows 8 was a beta release, Microsoft really tries hard methods to prevent users from getting access to the Windows Vista/7 basic theme, without even doing respect that some people might have liked it instead of just removing it entirely from the OS

In Windows 8 Betas before Consumer Preview, turn off Redpill and then the OS is able to work normally like it was in Windows 7. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to disable DWM

17:08 The reason why the taskbar flashes is because that explorer.exe keeps crashing and then it restarts. And then it will do the same thing over and over again. To stop this problem, you have to completely end explorer.exe. However, it will not show the taskbar nor the items that run under explorer.exe (e.g. Start, Search, Taskbar, etc.)

The classic Alt+Tab switcher has been removed in Windows 11 build 25136. When DWM is disabled, pressing Alt+Tab would bring an open app into focus.

@@World_of_OSes If I have 5 minimized apps, it will restore them back with each Alt+Tab press. When all open apps are shown on the desktop, it will cycle through them with each Alt+Tab press. There is no visual feedback apart from the app being brought to front and its window becoming active.

The taskbars in Windows 10 technical preview and Windows 8.1 and by extension Windows 8 are more of a grey colour if it was white then you wouldn't be able to see the start button, taskview and search
I sometimes end dwm.exe because it can take up to 1gb of ram and I try to stop that by ending the task, don't worry it starts again and it's like nothing ever happened.
The flat basic aero theme is called Aero Lite
some builds have a hotkey to toggle dwm desktop composition (Ctrl+Shift+F9)
Windows 10 TP 9841 still have settings and zSettings.
What happens when you end dwm or explorer inside these apps?

since build 8056 disabling desktop composition makes the screen black if explorer.exe is running and is redpilled properly
if you end dwm.exe in windows 8.1 using the aero lite style it does the same thing as in server 2012 R2
All windows are the same as vista in the core, Windows Vista is kernel 6.0, Win7 is 6.1, Win8 is 6.2, Win8.1 is 6.3 and Win10 was 6.4 but now is 10.0

How do you get aero in beta builds of Windows 7 and 8? I can’t install VMware Tools on them.
I think Aero worked without installing VMware Tools on the Windows 8 Betas.

Me too… The Aero theme and style were so pretty! Whenever anyone makes a program that lets me use it again in newer Windows versions, I happily download it.
At the moment, you can use *DWMBlurGlass* with a custom Aero glass theme to bring back one of Windows' best themes in Windows 10. That's what I did…

On xp it actually boots, tho i think like win 7 would not and win 10 would bsod since it gets a bsod even if you end svchost while windows 10 is running.

I tested after a while with windows 10 and IT WORKS WITHOUT DWM, you just need to wait a few minutes but desktop loads and taskbar works and no flashing
UWP apps and start menu dont work but you can launch apps and stuff kinda works
Server 2012 r2 just looks like aero lite and the performance options instead of appearance

Seems like Windows 10 wasn't the only windows operating system with inconsistent design
It kinda started with Windows 8, but at least we were only dealing with Metro design and the desktop UI that has theme pretty much like Aero but flattened and squared off.
Windows 10 is simply a mess that at the surface you will notice Metro design, the newer but still unpolished MDL2 design, and some elements of Vista/7 Aero. Inconsistencies is more prominent with Windows 10, and somehow it got worse with Fluent Design since not everything got updated to it and some remained with MDL2. Heck Windows 11 still have on-screen volume bar from Windows 8.

@@ITAC85 If you right click the video and click 'Stats for nerds' it says what audio codec it is using, for me is says Opus. If you paste the URL into 4K Video Downloader and select MKV it has Opus audio, if you select MP4 it has AAC audio.

BTW Dynamically allocated just take 10 GB if you set your virtual machine to 64 GB. I always use 64 GB. Windows has 30+ operating systems 9 (Not include beta). And *2 equals 60 because it has x86 and x64. Android has 14 operating systems. And *2 equals 28. You said all operating systems, then Linux has 600+ distros *2 = 1200. Mac OS has 14 operating systems. *2 = 28. Then 60+28+1200+28 = 1316+ virtual machines. And all it takes 13160+ GB.@@World_of_OSes
