@@ocsjc13 that's some hardcore King Bobby B. energy.
Ah, a classic Baratheon.
Partially responsible for a massive, devastating civil war
Haha and just on brand House Stark is the one who will end the war in one way or another.
The only two people responsible are Rhaenyra for being an entitled little princess, and Viserys for a) spoiling his favourite kid, b) not arranging a great council of the lords to sort out the succession before his death, and c) not marrying Rhaenyra to Aegon as is the tradition in house Targaryen if there is an older sister, so there os no dispute about succession and the eldest diagnose has their child inherit (sired by the eldest son)
Don’t Blame Borros for Viserys being a kind, but weak ineffectual piece of shit.
Also remember, Viserys got cut a lot on the iron throne, and when Rhaenyra briefly takes control of it, even when wearing armour it cuts her up too.
@@NinaC House Stark will punish anyone without honor...
And everybody in King's Landing had lost its honor before winter came

I liked how Robert's ancestor wasn't a maniac, as he didn't approve Aemond taking Luke's eye, as he was just an envoy. The way Robert wasn't a maniac either, realized that he isn't really fit to rule and trusted his entire realm to men who were honest to a fault. Unfortunately, then, he married a Lannister.
He also wouldn't want a dragon army burning his house down so there's that
@@cs6993 true, but he had Vhagar(almost) on his side, considering Aemond was already there. So I assume he already took sides and was ready for what's coming. All im saying is this Baratheon displayed a hint of sense(and a bit of humanity) by not allowing Aemond to go berserk. On a side not and ironically, Robert kills the last dragon by caving his chest in with his Warhammer.
What is wrong with lannisters? Tyrion is great, tywin is brilliant, jaime is deep down a good guy with a big ego. Cersei is the only evil one
@@Gugnar678 read again. I said, "a Lannister" not "Lannisters" 🙂. Though, I disagree about Tywin and Jaime(to an extent). Tywin may come across as regal and stoic, with the intelligence, stature, composure and power to match(and even reprimand Clegane) which makes everyone in awe of him, in the end he's cruel and utterly without mercy to achieve whatever he must. Cersei is very much the product of his upbringing, and absolutely full of hate and full of herself, though lacking the deftness and intelligence of Tywin. She's just vile, except for when she agreed to let Ned to take the black, but again minus points for not reining her son in. The exception, Jaime, is a lost soul and cause. Pampered and cocky little shit, utterly without honour(he doesn't blink pushing a child to death). Only when he lost everything(his sword hand) that he comes to term with reality. Though we are yet to see what will happen to him in the next books. Tyrion is the only Lannister(perhaps Tommen and Myrcella too) with a hint of kindness and sense.
Robert's downfall was marrying a Lannister, in my opinion, and a few other things.
@@ericbana191 and even then we see that Tyrion is damaged in the context of sex and romance considering he kills Shae in a rage for “betraying” him when in reality she was a whore and had no choice to defy lord Tywin. There is also Tyrion not being self aware considering his pouting about Sansa not finding him sexually attractive. A 13 year old girl is not sexually attracted to an ugly, disfigured, 33 year old dwarf and he gets frustrated over it.

@@TehCrushinatorz Brian would've made an amazing Borros, but sadly he's too old. Maybe someday Brian will voice a Baratheon in a asoiaf animation, we can dream.
Love how he laughs at his little joke, no one else laughs, then he’s pissed off for the rest of the scene
I love how the actor delivered the "whistle up" bit from his line.
The Blacks had every reason not to send Luce and to send Rhaenys to treat with Borros instead. Luce is 14, is an in-confident second son, and has no experience wheeling and dealing with fickle high lords. Not to mention his dragon is a mere pup. He should have been sent to the Eyrie to meet with his mother's aunt whose support was all but certain and Rhaenys should have been sent to Storm's End. She has the closer familial relation Borros, shes more experienced, her dragon is swifter and could have probably gotten her to Storm's End before Aemond and Vhagar could arrive and broker his marriage alliance, and Aemond has no personal gripes with Rhaenys to motivate him to harass her in transit and even if he did Meleys is not the pup Arrax is and is large enough she could threaten Vhagar physically. Send Baela to patrol the gullet on Moondancer instead.
Honestly? Yeah. You're right. It was a massive fuck-up and I think the only reason Rhaenys WASN'T sent is that Rhaenyra was expecting the Baratheons to be more loyal and the security of the Blackwater to be less certain.
Meleys was a credible threat to Vhagar and Rhaenys was a credible threat to Aemond. It most likely would've prevented a war.
...I say 'most likely' because Borros Baratheon is a fucking halfwit, but hey-ho.

@@thelaw6267 They were wise not to discontinue the war. The male heirs on the side of the Greens were dead. Continuing the war further would be seen as an attempt to annihilate the enemy houses.
Keep in mind that the Baratheons still had 3 of their strongest bannermen stay out of the war (Houses Caron, Dondarrion and Selmy in the Dornish marches) . Lady Baratheon is the daughter of the most powerful bannerman of Storm's end (Lord Caron).
Oldtown is the largest and wealthiest city in the south. Attempting to sack it runs the risk of drawing the Tyrells into war. The Tyrells had suffered literally no damage during the Dance and the entirety of their army was intact. Not to mention their own wealth.

No, it is implied that maesters are responsible for dragons extinction. Perhaps this would reveal in kater seasons.
Also interesting to note is that Borros in F&B was apparently misinformed as to how he was related to Princess Rhaenys.
She was actually his aunt, but he seemed to be under the impression she was a great-aunt. It seems his Maester never thought to correct him.

Lucerys should’ve done what Jacaerys did. Jace offered a Targaryen daughter to house stark, aka a future arrangement one that can be made down the rode. Hell, Luke could’ve even offered up Aegon or Viserys, even Joffrey.
Sadly seems like Luke has not been taught yet the art of negotiating tactics.

The irony of it being a Baratheon. After Bobby pops his clogs they have a situation where the obvious bastards of the Queen call into question the legitimacy of the heir and the House of the Stag does not seem to know who rules it.
Funny, you swear an oath, then demand presents to honor said oath. This guy a Baratheon or a Frey
An oath his father made, not him. And in the feudal time, the oaths were reciprocate (The king granted lands and riches in change of military forces and support). What Borros did here was perfectly reasonable and justified, since Rhaenyra didn't offer anything for his support. Aegon II did.
@@cristinademartini1284 To become Lord, he would have had to renew his families oath. Plus everything else you said was nonsense. An oath is worthless if you require more. Maybe perks and prizes afterword, but not before.
@@jordanmc9015 And he did renew his family oath to Aegon: maybe he is an usurper, but his incoronation was legally performed, therefore at ehis point it seems like Aegon is the legittimate king and Rhaenyra the usurper (and many people thought like that even before). The current situation is that there two people who claim to be the real sovereign of the kingdom, and there are forming formations to both the sides.
What was nonsense in what I said? As I said, BOREMUND made that oath, not him. So Borros doesn't feel entitled to keep an oath he didn't. In middle ages, the oath between the feudal lord and his vassal was reciprocate (i give you that in exchange of you give me, etc).
And please, many people don't give a crap about oaths when it comes to their own. Viserys himself told Rhaenyra that anyone at court think primarily about their own advantage. Rhaenyra should have thought about that words very carefully before sending her son at Storm's End to demand loyalty with nothing in return.
@@jordanmc9015 That's the point, Viserys didn't make anyone renew their oaths to Rhaenyra, Borros has no obligation to support her

Even a stone mason's daughter could read
It was such a dumb decision of Rhaenyra to send her bastards as messengers. They are obvious targets. It was easy to predict that the Greens might send their dragon as well. It was especially dumb considering Rhaenyra had nothing to offer Borros. Luce should've noped the F out as soon as he saw Vhagar since he knew he had no play here. Also Aemond should've known better that to continue his pursuit when he clearly saw that Vhagar was not playing around but hunting the lesser dragon.
Sending her children shows sincerity and respect to the houses they are trying to convince to join their side. Harming envoys/messengers at this time was unexpected and heavily frowned upon. Similar to how everyone knew Walder Frey was a piece of shit but people still didn't expect him to break bread with Rob under his roof and murder them at a wedding.
