A lot of people forget that originally when Taeyong was writing YESTODAY, he wanted it to be performed by him and Doyoung. Because he felt Doyoung was the perfect partner to convey this song's story and emotion. Yeah, the others did AMAZING for it, but we seem to forget Taryong's original vision for the song.

Still can't move on from this. Not everything in music has to be deep. But THIS is deep. Without even understanding the lyrics, you can hear the wistfulness...the regrets in the sound, in the way they sung and rapped. But it isn't really sad. It sounds more like acceptance. And if you look at the translation, you'll fully understand why. They sing of uncertainties and mistakes of the past, and the sacrifices that they had to make in order to get to where they are today. This is truly a gem in their discography.

Chang Lyn Ji taeyong wrote the original with doyoung about his life, the lyrics are v personal and meaningful to them both but more so TY.
If you haven’t read the lyrics than I’d definitely do that if you’d like to know more. I don’t think it was TY entirely, when mark and Lucas were added to the song I believe they wrote their parts (ah scratch that, mark wrote his part but i was informed Lucas did not.) but most ppl credit the originator of the song, TY.

The interpretation of having a lot of parrots appear in your dream (because NCT has a dream concept) means grapevine (basically gossip that people heard from unknown sources or hearing about it from someone else). A parrot represents the mocking attitude of others, mocking attitude of self, betrayal, gossip, back biting. The fact that the parrots showed up during Taeyong part is also such an important aspect.

He has many years post SM to create music and make all the money that comes from being a producer and songwriter (which is a lot more than a performer makes). Out of all the SM talent, I think Taeyong will be the one to have his own company some day (with Doyoujng and Mark as his first signings:). If SM was smart they would give him his rightful piece of Lightbulb because injustices like that do not age well.

The struggles, the unsureness, low self-confidence. The lyrics were really close to him. But he doesn't feel like that anymore. So he didn't wanted to keep the original lyrics." But I do think they should've at least credited him for the composition as they decided to use the original beats & Instrumental

Honestly I am very proud of Taeyong. Everytime I see him on stage there’s this aura around him that attracts people towards him. He has been through so much that he himself becomes self conscious of his acts. You can actually see that he never really hope for taking the first place in music charts cuz to him being on stage with his members is enough for him. Like seriously this guy deserves the whole world.
He is ever so conscious and gets so uncomfortable when they talk about his visuals or the topic of him being a "leader" comes up or anything which focuses on him rather than all of NCT. He has recieved a lot of hate by some solo stans as well for "being too much at the centre" when it's neither his decision, not his fault. It's how the group dynamic works! Taeyong might be one of the most misunderstood idols though he is the most HUMBLE, SOFT, HARD WORKING, TALENTED, CARING, INTELLIGENT, SELFLESS, BEAUTIFUL being. So proud.

I agree, this is easily my favorite NCT song I've heard and it's making me want to really get into them because up to this point I've been a casual listener. I'm kind of intimidated by the 18 (and possibly more) members though...
I can't say I stan yet, but I do listen to some nct because I like to check out different music and different artists. But I've gotta say once you watch interviews or not, maybe just funny videos, you'll get to know them. Just don't force yourself to remember all 18 members, they aren't always together in v-lives anyway. So you can see a sub-unit at a time or like mark, jungwoo, doyoung, and lucas have a few vids together.
I will admit I haven't heard *every* song of like nct dream because it's not my style but by now I can name everybody.

A rant I’m sorry:
Taeyong is such a talented man, he suffered so much before his debut, was hated on, and now is the leader of 20 (well 9 other boys). He pours everything into the lyrics that HE writes, yet is now hated because of line distribution and many don’t like his rap style. I hope he gets the hug he deserves and realizes we all adore him so so so much.
Lucas, funny and optimistic has always been pushed under as someone who is nothing else/is shallow. He is the reason I discovered this incredible group and I hope he slays in WayV and continues to be the happy talented goofy ball of hope that he is (stream coffee)
Mark Lee, where do I begin. He’s so young, so overworked, so talented, and is the object of hate to so many. Many clown him because his English isn’t as good as what it was (because he rarely uses it and left Canada at such a young age) or because they think he’s not good enough to be in three units, or because he takes up everyone else’s lines. He’s a young growing boy, and he’s actually the sweetest person ever, so please be nice to him, he’s aware of what the fans say and he deserves much better than this.
And last but not least, Kim Dongyoung, the only vocalist ever, the most caring, most amazing, most woke guy, he is my FAVORITE vocalist in kpop and his voice gives me chills. He’s beautiful and confident and I hope nothing stops him from being so.
These members are barely a 5th of NCT and I could go on and on and on about the rest because they all deserve the world, but I’ll cut it short and say stan NCT because they are 21 (super underrated, can’t believe this video is still under 10 mil, and that not a single video of NCT’s has crossed a hundred million ;( ) absolutely hilarious and insanely talented young men. I absolutely 💚 them.

you're so sweet, i feel like i would've written the same thing. they all deserve all the love in the universe and i can't stress that enough. they're kind, really funny, down to earth, and insanely talented guys. i hate it how ppl always overlook nct bc of the # of members when all 21 of those members are all so unique and completely different from each other. distinguishable in every tiny little way, they're all so amazing, mere words can't express it. agh i just love them so much, i only wish we could get at least one mv up to 100m, to show that. i know we can do it. :((
