Agree on the points made here. I think it worthwhile to also mention something related to "expand the zone", but unique in it's own right - know the zone of the umpire. The reality is that there are a lot of umpires out there that do not understand where the zone should be (they gauge based on your back elbow or some such thing, don't consider where you are standing in the box, etc.). Watch the umpire with the batters ahead of you, and watch carefully how he calls your zone. Balls that are 1/2 a ball or a full ball of the black are called strikes, and you should be able to see a pattern. If you are looking for your pitch that's fine, but with two strikes you'll need to be aware that a ball that off the plate that has been called a strike all day will likely be called again.

Thanks bro.. I been trying to explain this to my 12u. But not quite as clear. He is really good at bat. Doesn't get flustered when he gets deep in the count. But every now and then, that outside pitch will get him for a looking strike. Thank you for sharing. These are perfect tips to help him. 👊🏽

I hit number 2 and I struck out swinging 5 times in fall ball but I need to know how to foul pitches off.I also swing at the out side pitches and that’s what I usally strike out on so thanks for helping me out

Super excellent primo video Justin. My youth team is notorious for looking at third strikes. I think these tips are going to help them tremendously. Especially just the mindset of leaving your fate in the umpires hands. That is really good advice sir thank you

Ok so I have a problem striking out looking sometimes, and most of the times it’s bc of me thinking it’s a bad call, so I thought ab and maybe it’s bc the way I take a pitch so can you make a video of how to properly take a pitch please

Hey Coach Justin, I love the videos, thank you!
Just FYI, us girls play baseball too - “He might throw you a fastball” but SHE might too 😉
