As a physically broken retired cop at 55, working out with my son in my gym is one of my greatest joys every day. While my workout varies from his more Crossfit-type programming, I still love the joint struggle and sweat we share together getting our daily iron infusion.

It goes by quick. My son is 21 now and some of my best memories are lifting in the garage with him. Never stop lifting, never stop learning.

When i started to train at 13, my grandfather was the one who took me to the gym and trained with me. Those are some of my best memories. He turned 82 yesterday, still goes to the beach 5 times a week, hops into the river and swims 400m or so. He is an example of what a healthy lifestyle can do. I can't wait to do this with my boys when they a little older!

Josh, you were an early inspiration for me. Now I’m 40 and have 3 girls who see that I wake up at 4 am everyday and do CrossFit and eat healthy and that alone makes them stronger. Dad bod is cop out. Love the weak minds weak legs flag. Just ordered one

I don’t usually make comments, but this is so inspirational. I am 28 with my son turning 3 and I’m currently in the process of being a better version of myself. I am getting back in shape taking control about what I put in my body and what work I put my body through. I was an athlete through high school in multiple sports and needless to say it’s easy to just let yourself go when you get married and start having kids. This right here is what it is about, we have a responsibility to take control of ourselves and show our children how to care for themselves because if we don’t no one else will. We can’t let them go through life so blindly because we failed to do our job as fathers. It’s time for the men in this country to start recognizing what our priorities are and understand our families our the priority. We need each other more than ever. Men find that inner strength and discipline to make yourself and your family the best versions of yourself and them, our futures depend on it. This may come in many forms not just athletics so I dare you to take it a step further teach that son or daughter something new. God bless and thanks for the post.
