Excellent format, would love to see more. Eypecially regarding screening (bow tie deployment, infiltrators), deep strike and when to bring in reserves!
This is good to know from both sides of the table, whether you're shooting or charging. Learn to recognize an attack as it's forming! In my limited tournament experience it really seems like many of these principles also apply to shooting armies - hang back and deny your opponent the chance to destroy your units. Then spring forward and deliver a decisive blow when you see the opportunity.
Great video! I’m an UM player and I’ve always loved the Romans historically. Fell in I love the 13th on Calth and dove right into the HH novels. When I played my first games and even now the biggest issue I found was “deployment”. All the staging and screening you talk about stems from a well deployed army. This step is not always apparent and there are many different ways to deploy an army depending on style of army and how the opponent is deploying. A video walking thru some basic deployment methods which can lead you into well planned screens and staging areas/kill zones And or what order to deploy units. Big tanks and monsters first or last etc. maybe some alternate theories to bait your opponent with aggressive deployment then some redeploys or fast movers swapping sides unexpectedly to avoid a big anti tank unit etc.
I’ve used double Dorn to support two strategies for assaulting. 1. Use rapid ingress on rogal Dorn for my opponents back objective. Then bring in more armored elements. If you live to T3 this is disastrous for your opponent. 2. Armor infantry armor That’s how your army marches down the board. Blocks of armor on the flanks and infantry down the middle; for the purpose of exposing the enemy at once on a front, or force their hand to make an impulsive attack. Tips: use terrain rules! Ruins at level three give a buff to AP. Kasrkin sniper or scion squad could go off! Lord Solar is a must!
i love these kind of videos its all those things, that u dont know about when u start playing warhammer casual or competitiv i certainly hope youre doing more of these
Like all tactics, its important to remember its just as much as a tool in your opponents belt as it is your own. Have a plan for when somebody uses this against you. Know your enemys charge/ threat ranges, be selective in where you concentrate your force and aware of where your opponent is marshalling his and its ok to take a turn re-positioning to make sure you have the right units facing off against the right threats. Anti-tank tank guns are for cracking open hard targets, and moving so you can shoot at a tank on a 4+ is better than hitting 2 wound infantry with a lascannon on a 3+. Heavy bolters will better serve you firing into infantry thats already on the board rather than trying to chip the last 3 wounds off of a land raider provided it has any other target. Moving a unit away, not scoring any points but keeping it alive for later use is better than sitting on an objective only to be slaughtered off of it by your opponents elite melee troops (especially if your enemy needed the charge to get the movement to get onto the objective in the first place). And as always, Having 2 is having 1, having one is the same as bringing none.
This and the last video are great! Other tactics videos only involve a bloke with a powerpoint or simulator, to me this is much easier to understand. It would be awesome if you could explain setting up overwatch traps
This is awesome thanks, hopefully it will help my orks survive past turn 3.... tho honestly, ill still probably just go with everything as soon as possible. I find no matter how much I try to hide behind terrain and prep for a big WAAAAGH my army is basically dead on the clap back every time. so, if im gonna get tabled I may aswell get as much killing in before i have no army left
ive been really struggling with sisters since generally sisters of battle are imperial guard infantry frail. It also does not help that sisters of battle are very short range glass canonny, but this video has helped a lot. I think using celestian sacresants in an rhino or repressor with an Imagifier (which gives a 2+ to Save charectoristic) sounds like a really cool combo. ooo then i can posiblly come up with an immolator or penitent engines.
Neat, what's a good method for evading artillery? I suppose my best guess would be an infiltration or drop pod squad just hacking them up before they can chew up my damage dealers
How would you build an Air Cavalry list if you could take more than 2 Valkyries? What kind of changes (rules, data sheets, points, etc) would it take to make Air Cav viable?
where I play, and I think its the standard for the priah nexus mission pack/tornaments, the bottom floor of ruins is effectively a solid wall, regardless of how the terrain piece looks in real life, so things that are fully inside the ruins are hidden from things outside the ruins and vice versa. however, infantry models can move "through" the walls because they are ruins, so when it comes to moving/charging infantry just move though like its not there, but vehicles/monsters need to move around.
How does someone that plays guard or big shooty armies set up their attacks? Is it just making sure to keep my range and matching the right weapon to target the right unit?
Thanks ☺️ See in this situation I'd charge with termagants. Injured guard squad, not kill it and hold the objective with higher oc but be locked in Combat. They may fall back and shoot you off but you have traded a low cost disposable squad to deny and maybe capture a point. As guard I'd have move the tank or chimera up in front of guardsmen as it will survive longer then guardsmen, allowing infantry to hold the objective
With all this information, I'll be able to dominate the table...soon...

I saw the tactics video and i clicked on the video thats my style sir
I watch a Mordian Glory video, I press the like button! That's my style sah! And BY THE GODS so should you!
Very helpful video. These kind of videos help the casual player to become better and understand the „hidden“ mechanisms of the game way better!
I absolutely needed this video- especially finally understanding the value of a staging rhino

That was great. Exactly the kind of video I need to see!
I like these videos cause they are timeless. Valid for all editions
heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeello everyone and welcome to another ABSOLUTE MORDIAN BANGER! o7

No example of staging behind a baneblade? What is this nonsense?!
No.1 Astra Militarum RUclips content creator teaches how to do Staging... against the Astra Militarum. 😢

Aren’t the genestealers in the example inside the footprint of the ruins so they can be shot? Sorry- new player, still trying to understand the rules.
Whilst they are in the ruin footprint they are actually behind a wall so can't be seen. If the ruin was open they could be shot.

@@Thorlek thank you. I had thought that was the case but my friend who plays tau said all the windows were open
