Every time I listen to a John Lennon song I get angry thinking about the forty years of music that we were cheated out of hearing. How the murder of one man can deny so many of future happiness. This truth applies to so many deaths.
@hannibalclark6111 you don't understand music theory. Nothing about this song is simple. You as a listener may simply be hearing it and interpret it as "simple." But the chord theory and key changes here is very advanced. No one in pop music does this on this level other than... The Beatles.
Even though this is a demo, this is probably in my top 5 favorite solo Lennon songs. I wish he made a finished version, sadly we lost him too soon. Maybe someday.

You gotta remember that Double Fantasy and Milk & Honey were concept albums about John and Yoko's marriage. Those songs aren't specifically about them, although they ARE way superior to what was ultimately released!

The inly thing I can take hope away from this is John mentioned "The kingdom of heaven is in your hand". I have worried for the longest time that John was an atheist, but it seems he knows God. I hope he is there when I go home to the Lord.

Look, Lennon gave McCartney a lot of shit about his sappy granny music. A lot well deserved. But you have to admit that after the first solo release the quality of his writing started to deteriorate and he never rebounded. I don't want to hear love songs to Yoko. Man what shit. His final album sucked. It just did. There is absolutely no juice to it. Middle age elevator rock. I loved these guys but it is what it is, the solo stuff never equaled what the unit created. And this song just goes along with all the other lackluster late period Lennon stuff.
