Paul loved to write, but he needed John to make his songs better.
John is so underrated as a rhythm guitarist! He keeps a solid beat! It’s amazing how each Beatle injected 25% of the total. They were an entity! The sum of the parts were bigger than each individual!
I think John made even greater records in his solo career, George had a couple too. I don’t think they needed each other as much as die hard Beatles and in particular Paul fans seem to think they did. This was a decade after they split, is all Lennon and is phenomenal

His songs had so many great meanings it crazy to think who but only John could write. John lives on as he was there then and still today and many many more days then we'll all see

John was having a resurgence in late 1980 and then a fiend decided to obliterate him. If the coward had used his fists, John would have knocked him out. When I heard about the incident on Dec 8th,1980,I went into shock.He and Paul had planned a collaboration in 1981 and that is something we will never have now. The title and lyrics of this song are chilling due to events.
John is the best rock singer and songwriter of all time, most original and inventive as well. It's a pity a psychopath killed him and deprived the whole world of his creative genius.
I don't know if you would call john a good guitar player or not me personally think he's a dam good rhythm man because when he plays this demo track I can hear a bass line all over it I can hear lead guitar all over it and organ the possibility are endless just from the demo track dam he's got good ideas in his head

‘Gimme Some Truth’ isn’t rap, he didn’t need to rap, he had a beautiful singing voice. He was a melodic songwriter.
