John was seriously under weight. How can you say that? He weighed just over nine stone if that. He was 5’11. His natural weight was 11 and a half stone. The myth is that he was cleaned up. The reality is that he was on drugs, an anorexic and in a marriage he felt trapped. This outtake still shows a sharp kind, alert and creating. Nothing could kill his “creative spirit/energy” which is ironic because in his personal life he was struggling here. God bless his soul. I mean I know that she helped John recover a lot of royalties owed but she made sure that she stayed deep into all of his business....
She did the same during the White Album sessions after her and John were in a car accident. She got up from the bed in the studio and walked over to George’s amp which had a dish of biscuits (or cookies in America) and helped herself to one. George went berserk and called her either a cunt or a bitch (don’t remember which) for taking one without asking and for the fact that she was otherwise acting like she was pretty injured but was able to get out of the bed with no trouble. Many people think Paul was the most angry over the Yoko situation when in reality it was more so George. He briefly quit the band in Jan 1969 in part bc he was angry over her constant presence in the band’s affairs and her enabling John’s heroin addiction. George himself was pretty moody and could be a very curmudgeonly dude despite his quiet/shy/spiritual reputation
