    This is exactly how I thought a two bedroom should be payed out. It’s very nice. We currently have a one bedroom cabin. 16x32 cabin style barn. We went with a nice size garden tub. Still doing placement of the kitchen. This was supposed to be my daughter s cabin. We had something else planned for us but we can just change our plans a little to get use of it. Lots to do on the property so just happy to have a comfortable place. Those shed/cabins feel like home. Yours is really nice!

    I know it’s a little late but for your next construction project study up a bit before you tackle your framing and learn how to properly frame a door/window header. Many times for people in this situation, just look at what the original manufacturer did to frame the windows and doors and follow what they did. The couple of walls you framed that had doors there is no support under the header to carry the load. The nails are the only thing transferring the load and I don’t think you were intending on adding a stud to each side yet cause then your doorway is going to be awful tight.
    I’m not bashing you at all buddy, just trying to help ya learn. Other than that you did great from what I see.
    Take care

    This really has a lot of room!! I didn't realize they had sheds this big!!!
    I've been thinking about getting two of the smaller ones (with the porches) and putting them end to end.
    This way I'd have double the room and a nice covered porch at the front and back door!!!!

    The first thing I would do is to paint the exterior with a very high-quality paint. The paint they use is cheap, and your exterior will rot on you.

  • @richarddalton5191
    @richarddalton5191 6 лет назад +2

    Take it from someone who ended up with rotting floors, if you use solid skirting, air flow cannot keep
    moisture from destroying your subfloors

    • @TheCrockers
      @TheCrockers  6 лет назад +2

      richard dalton thank you for the info! Since we used fence planks, they shrunk a little so there are gaps between the boards. But we might take a few planks out and add vents to prevent rot. again, Thank you for the advice

    How much did it run you in all? How do you add in the windows after built? The other things I’m guessing you had them do, like the vapor wrap or did you have to remove and add? Do you all ever help others with finishing out their building? Just curious! You all did an awesome job!

    • @TheCrockers
      @TheCrockers  6 лет назад +2

      Wasser Man thanks for checking out our video. We had the company add the vapor wrap when they were building the shell. This was out first time building a house. We had to reframe the walls where we wanted to install the windows. Overall we will end up spending about $45,000.

    • @TheCrockers
      @TheCrockers  6 лет назад

      Yes sir the upgrades were: Vapor wrap around the building, 12 inch on center flooring, 8ft tall walls and the dormer. I cant remember the thickness of the flooring, it's a treated plywood. The building comes with nothing, we had the front door and back door added on. We bought all custom windows (didn't want the ones they provide).

    I’d wasn’t trying to upset you if I did I apologizes. But I’m serious about strapping it down. A mobile home is designed and engineered to be strapped to a steel frame and upon set up it is strap to the ground from the steel frame preventing uplift unfortunately your building wasn’t designed like that there’s no straps going up over the rafters tiring in the walls to the sill plate. The building was only designed for storage not for living quarters. You have a Lot of views I only recommend you educate your viewers

      Generally mobile homes use lessthan 2x4 for studs. Less than 1/2 inch drywall, and have less sturdy floors and ceilings. This building has a 30 year roof and 50 year siding and advertised to stand up to 150mph wind... So work your ass off now and own it outright..... Or work your ass off on your MH in 10 years when you still owe over 30k to pay it off....
