Someone finally honored everything Bristlefrost gave away. She was one of my favorite characters until Erin Hunter decided, "Ok, Bristlefrost is dead, goodbye until fall!". I think she gave up a lot to save the clans, so I thank you Blixemi, for making my favorite cat basically a funeral.

Oh definitely. I was expected a wishy-washy, everyone wins and Bristle and Root get together and have babies ending. But instead we got an emotional, heart-wrenching, bittersweet conclusion to the story; and while the arc as a whole definitely has its flaws, I’m really happy with the Erins’ decision to kill off Bristlefrost, even if it does hurt.
The symbolism of Bristlefrost’s death… it’s sad. She saved Rootspring from drowing when they were younger. And now that she finally liked him back, he had to watch her drown when he couldn’t do a thing. Its really sad not gonna lie. It was one of the most heroic warrior deaths i’ve seen.
The vocals are so soft, and the detail of her actually sinking and getting further and further away from the surface of the ocean as the water grows dark is so amazing. I missed this.

Blix, you sure did a great job on this song. The fact that she didn't even get to finish that last "For you I'd sink away" just made my heart *sink.* The whole tone fits this so well!

I actually did cry and it actually HURT me. Like, ouch. At least with other deaths they’ll go to StarClan but she just… vanished. Forever. The authors literally made my greatest fear of just vanishing after you die the reality of my favorite character. It hurt. So. Bad. But I had a good cry lol
There have been 3 deaths that have absolutely depressed me in Warriors; Firestar, Graystripe, and Bristlefrost. This song is absolutely perfect, and an amazing representation of Bristlefrosts final moments.
No death hit me harder than Bristlefrosts. I almost put the series down for good and burn my Collection but there was a video that someone did and I can see their side and I'm still beyond mad about it. At least a starless clan seems better but I swear if in book 4 a specific character dies I will put the books down for good.

I honest to God thought she had some kind of plot armor to save her from that situation but it really surprised me that the scene was a complete plot twist.

We've seen cats sacrifice their lives for others, but she sacrificed her very existence. She'll go down as one of the best characters in the series! Tbh I really didn’t like Bristlefrost before because of how god damn stupid she was (fr it’s like these cats forget who they are and the events of the past huiuinfsuibuftuv) Yeah so, much like Sweeny : “I think I miss you less and less as every day goes by.” Ngl tho I still shed a tear when I watch PMVs or listen to beautiful songs like this depicting her death. Drowning is just one of those warriors deaths that seems like such a peaceful way to go and it will always make me cry. (Not irl tho)

Bristlefrost's death had me sobbing and I didn't even care for her that much. Definitely the saddest death in the books in my opinion. Y'all did a wonderful job with this song, demonstrates it all perfectly and gave me chills. Great job!

This is incredibly done. I was never the biggest fan of Bristle frost, but I always held a huge respect for her. After everything she had gone through, just to do her best for the ones around her, she should have gotten so much in return. But as I read her final chapters, I grew to love her more and more, and even with this song, it just shows how much she cared for the ones who truly stuck beside her. I wish so much that she was given a place in Starclan, and every time I think of what Rootspring has to go through now- But this really captures her noble spirit in doing what she knows is best, for not only her, but the ones around her.
This song is perfect for Bristlefrost. The water sounds, sad piano music, and lovely voice only make it more emotional. The part where she sings: "I fade away so you can be living all the dreams you planned to make" made me sad, because Rootspring's dream was to be with her. Now he'll never get that. but when she sings, "I know you'll be okay", she's saying that he can make it through his grief, and she wants him to. That is something that I know Bristlefrost would have wanted for him.
Wow…I can’t believe how deep this is. As a writer, I loved all the metaphors you used and how deep and heartbreaking you made this song! Like, “Love shapes a heartless fate” and “we’ve clawed so desperately for a future out of reach.” Those lines really give the song depth and so much meaning, you can really feel the pain of how Bristlefrost and Rootsprings futures were taken away by Ashfur, a cat who had an obsession on a cat born way before them. They were robbed, and this song really makes you feel their loss! It’s amazing! Definitely one of the best warrior cat songs out there. (Lol I didn’t mean to make it this long oops.)
Fell back into Warriors a few months ago after not paying it much attention for a few years. Read all of The Broken Code in about 2 weeks. But only now am I truly thinking about how this is the first 'real' death in perhaps the whole series, the first true case of a life being ripped away far too early that will never get another chance. Damn. Maybe it is deeper than just some cat books that make me nostalgic for middle school.

What a beautiful new song. The piano is gorgeous and the singer has incredible skill and really captures the emotion. Leaves me with the same hollow, yet tender feelings I felt when Bristlefrost faded. Great job! Edit: The only thing that could make this better would be a male-voice cover of Way to You to go along with it, because that song goes really well with Rootspring's experience after the fact.

Okay, I’m going to summarize some things. 1- Erin Hunter, you write such beautiful books, and I loved Bristlefrost, but after I first read she died I wanted to like curl up in a hole and just fade too, but I was in school so I just sobbed there in front of everyone🫢🫣, I wish she at least got to go to Starclan 2- This is when the book Sky has been released, and at the moment when Sunbeam was like, Rootspring is younger than some of us, yet he acts older, something like that anyways she thought I wonder if it was his experience in the Dark Forest that mad him this way or losing Bristlefrost, and when I saw the word Bristlefrost on the page, I literally started crying (yes, I know I have issues 😂) 3- This song is so BEAUTIFUL! This song is totally worthy of Bristlefrost, it tugged at my heart strings so hard! 4- Love your vids! (especially your Mouse Brained trivia show) bye!

I recently got back into warriors and I had the luxury of reading this whole arc in one go and not needing to wait for new books to come out. Bristlefrost quickly became my favorite charcter in the whole series, along with Shadowsight and Rootspring. All three of them deserved so much better.
I lost a lot of interest in reading the more recent arcs of Warriors but I still keep up with the major plots via social media lol but this song was really bittersweet, could really feel the character's emotion here, great job Blixemi!

Warriors deaths always hit hard for me, but usually not as hard since I know we'll usually have a chance to see major characters again in StarClan, but we won't have that with Bristlefrost! Imo Bristlefrost's death was by far the most tear jerking. She didn't deserve to be gone forever... I hopelessly wish that they will make a short book about what happened to her. Maybe showing that she really does live on, but no one else knows. And I wish Rootspring would find her..
Maybe instead of going to Starclan or The Dark Forest, she would be stuck as a ghost, but the reason why everyone thinks she's gone forever is because no one can see her spirit. And maybe when Rootspring dies he would finally lead her spirit to Starclan.

I didn’t listen to this until just now, as I’ve read A Light In The Mist. And wow, does it ever cut deep. Bristlefrost did not deserve her fate, and I hope I see SOMETHING about her in the near future (if something has already happened, please don’t spoil). This song displays her struggles and accomplishments, then her eventual acceptance of inevitable death incredibly well! Blix has done it again!
Bristlefrost started off a bit annoying. She was focused on one thing only and when she couldn't achieve Stemleaf's love she wallowed in despair. She felt so one dimensional in the first book. It didn't help that instantly Rootpaw fell in love with her, and instead of trying to gently turn him down she was horrible about it. But then slowly, she wised up, after realizing Bramblestar wasn't really Bramblestar. She allowed herself to be scrutinized by not only her former crush and his mate, but her entire Clan. When even cats from other Clans turned against her and accused her of being a spy, she stayed strong! She saved Squirrelflight's life, and so many other refugees. She was insanely loyal to Squilf, even protecting the Imposter for her so that Bramblestar's spirit would have a vessel to return to. Something that even resulted in the death of several cats she loved, like Rosepetal and Stemleaf. She worked hand in hand with Rootspring and Shadowsight to defeat the imposter, and she risked her own life *so many times.* When the Imposter tried to make her deputy, she refused at first, and when Squirrelflight returned, she didn't hesitate to step down. She wanted to earn her place in the Clan, not just benefit from other's suffering. When Stemleaf died, she was by Spotfur's side day and night to comfort her, and when it was revealed Spotfur was pregnant, Bristlefrost didn't hesitate to promise her that she'd be by her side. It's so, so sad that wasn't able to keep that promise, because we all know she desperately wanted to. Bris never, ever wanted to abandon Spotfur all alone. She went to the Dark Forest willingly *several* times, knowing just how dangerous it was. When it was decided the Imposter would be killed, she comforted Squirrelflight, knowing just how hard this would be for her. When Ashfur kidnapped Squirrelflight, Bristlefrost was one of the first to want to take action. She even helped ThunderClan reach temporary peace by suggesting Graystripe be acting leader, a decision nearly unanimously agreed upon, even by temperamental Lionblaze and grumpy Jayfeather! Despite being so young, she's even chosen to be ThunderClan's representative at an all-Clan meeting with Graystripe to discuss how to rescue Squirrelflight and kill Ashfur. And when Shadowsight and Rootspring get stuck in the Dark Forest, Bristlefrost bravely goes looking for them. After noticing that Rootspring didn't manage to escape after she saved him and Shadowsight, Bristlefrost instantly went straight back into the Dark Forest! She can't do anything but watch in horror when Rootspring and Snowtuft are made to fight to the death, and she even grieves Snowtuft for his brave sacrifice. Not only did she rescue Rootspring for the 3rd time now, she also managed to help some of Ashfur's prisoners escape, and found the source blocking StarClan! Not only that, but after being captured, Bristlefrost managed to convince her three Dark Forest captors to work with the Clans to save the living cats, the StarClan cats, and the Dark Forest cats. When she noticed Shadowsight was being attacked by a rogue spirit, she saved him, and only moments later, when Ashfur was dragging an unconscious Shadowsight towards to water, Bristlefrost didn't hesitate. She *knew* what that water was. She was perfectly aware of exactly what would happen if she knocked Ashfur and herself into the water, yet Shadowsight was a dear friend to her. They'd been through so much together, not to mention he was her cousin. And so, Bristlefrost charged at Ashfur and instead of attempting to swim back up, she pulled Ashfur down with her. She had no regrets as she was dying, she only felt love. Bristlefrost is a shining example of loyalty. She loved so, so deeply. She loved Rootspring. She loved her family. She loved Shadowsight. She loved Stemleaf. She loved Spotfur. She loved Squirrelflight. She loved Bramblestar. She loved Rosepetal. She loved ThunderClan. She loved life. She had so much potential, and that is what truly hurts most. She had so much more life to give; she was so young! And yet, she was more than happy to throw everything away to save the cats she loved. She was so, so brave. She went through so much in such a short amount of time, and stayed strong through it all. She was so strong that not even Ashfur suspected her of betrayal until the moment she did. Bristlefrost, truly, is what every warrior should strive to be. She would've been ThunderClan's most amazing leader had she lived.
My goodness. I am almost crying. I still have so many arcs to catch up on & barely know Bristlefrost. But when I read the spoilers, when I learned how she died & not only that, but that her spirit is also forever gone - WHY, god, WHY ?! She died saving Shadowsight & her clan. Her & Rootspring had plans. All that forbidden love drama for nothing. They could never be. I barely know anything about her. But I just wanna jump & pull her our of the water & scream "Bristlefrost ! NOOOOO !!!!" First Spottedleaf. Now this cat I barely know, who was just introduced & the main character in the same arc. If I already knew who she is & what's going on, I would totally be ugly sobbing & crying right now. Wonderfull song as always TwT

well, they remade some of the rules of starclan so that cats like root could get judged on if they wanna switch clans or not, her sacrafice was not in vain, I assure you that.

I feel so bad for Bristlefrost. Her spirit didn't even have a chance to breathe before it faded. There have only been a few other deaths that broke me: Yellowfang, Snowkit, Bluestar, Firestar, and Mapleshade's kits. But none of them match this level of tragedy.
I've been following your youtube and music journey since I was, ahem- a young whippersnapper. I found you by your cover, "StarClan's Light", and my little battle cat obsessed heart became obsessed in an instant haha! I've fallen in love with so many of your songs over the years, but none have touched my heart and made me cry like this one. I haven't read a warrior cats book in a long time, but with the pure emotion of the instrumental background and the gorgeous lyrics in this song have me tearing up. I don't know the character this song is based on, but I relate to the lyrics like it was I who wrote it. This sounds like my story, this sounds like my past, and I'll definitely be reading the books after listening to this masterpiece. When I first listened to this song, I hadn’t read The Broken Code and I didn’t understand it, but I finished The Broken Code not that long ago and when I first listened to this song after finishing The Broken Code, I actually cried.

Even though this song is about a fictional character, my cat just passed away and I came to this song to cry and remember her. She was with me for more than half my existence and saved my life allowing me to be here today. We found her while in line with her previous owner taking her to the shelter alone at 6 weeks old. I was only a child then, but I fell in love with her at first sight, and we brought her home right then and there, sparing her from being without a home and a family. Since then she more than paid back that on-the-spot favor; she saved me from myself, I stopped attempting suicide. She was there, whether she knew it or not, during my worst times, keeping me safe, keeping me alive. For that, I can never forget her. Goodbye, Nessie. Walk among the stars. May Starclan guide you forevermore, my little demon.

Oh definitely. I was expected a wishy-washy, everyone wins and Bristle and Root get together and have babies ending. But instead we got an emotional, heart-wrenching, bittersweet conclusion to the story; and while the arc as a whole definitely has its flaws, I’m really happy with the Erins’ decision to kill off Bristlefrost, even if it does hurt.

The symbolism of Bristlefrost’s death… it’s sad. She saved Rootspring from drowing when they were younger. And now that she finally liked him back, he had to watch her drown when he couldn’t do a thing. Its really sad not gonna lie. It was one of the most heroic warrior deaths i’ve seen.
The vocals are so soft, and the detail of her actually sinking and getting further and further away from the surface of the ocean as the water grows dark is so amazing. I missed this.

I actually did cry and it actually HURT me. Like, ouch. At least with other deaths they’ll go to StarClan but she just… vanished. Forever. The authors literally made my greatest fear of just vanishing after you die the reality of my favorite character. It hurt. So. Bad.

There have been 3 deaths that have absolutely depressed me in Warriors; Firestar, Graystripe, and Bristlefrost. This song is absolutely perfect, and an amazing representation of Bristlefrosts final moments.

Ahhh, her death still gets me choked up. The most brutal death the Erin's could have given us but yet your music made it seem so peaceful. We've seen cats sacrifice their lives for others, but she sacrificed her very existence. She'll go down as one of the best characters in the series! I swear, I teared up at Yellowfang's death but when Bristlefrost came and died, I balled my eyes out. A death like that is more worse than Tigerstar's.

This is incredibly done. I was never the biggest fan of Bristle frost, but I always held a huge respect for her. After everything she had gone through, just to do her best for the ones around her, she should have gotten so much in return. But as I read her final chapters, I grew to love her more and more, and even with this song, it just shows how much she cared for the ones who truly stuck beside her. I wish so much that she was given a place in Starclan, and every time I think of what Rootspring has to go through now- But this really captures her noble spirit in doing what she knows is best, for not only her, but the ones around her.
This song is perfect for Bristlefrost. The water sounds, sad piano music, and lovely voice only make it more emotional. The part where she sings: "I fade away so you can be living all the dreams you planned to make" made me sad, because Rootspring's dream was to be with her. Now he'll never get that. but when she sings, "I know you'll be okay", she's saying that he can make it through his grief, and she wants him to. That is something that I know Bristlefrost would have wanted for him.
Wow…I can’t believe how deep this is. As a writer, I loved all the metaphors you used and how deep and heartbreaking you made this song! Like, “Love shapes a heartless fate” and “we’ve clawed so desperately for a future out of reach.” Those lines really give the song depth and so much meaning, you can really feel the pain of how Bristlefrost and Rootsprings futures were taken away by Ashfur, a cat who had an obsession on a cat born way before them. They were robbed, and this song really makes you feel their loss! It’s amazing! Definitely one of the best warrior cat songs out there. (Lol I didn’t mean to make it this long oops.)
Fell back into Warriors a few months ago after not paying it much attention for a few years. Read all of The Broken Code in about 2 weeks. But only now am I truly thinking about how this is the first 'real' death in perhaps the whole series, the first true case of a life being ripped away far too early that will never get another chance. Damn. Maybe it is deeper than just some cat books that make me nostalgic for middle school.
I fell in love with Bristlefrost and her death was so painful. She deserved so much more.

What a beautiful new song. The piano is gorgeous and the singer has incredible skill and really captures the emotion. Leaves me with the same hollow, yet tender feelings I felt when Bristlefrost faded. Great job!

Okay, I’m going to summarize some things.
1- Erin Hunter, you write such beautiful books, and I loved Bristlefrost, but after I first read she died I wanted to like curl up in a hole and just fade too, but I was in school so I just sobbed there in front of everyone🫢🫣, I wish she at least got to go to Starclan
2- This is when the book Sky has been released, and at the moment when Sunbeam was like, Rootspring is younger than some of us, yet he acts older, something like that anyways she thought I wonder if it was his experience in the Dark Forest that mad him this way or losing Bristlefrost, and when I saw the word Bristlefrost on the page, I literally started crying (yes, I know I have issues 😂)
3- This song is so BEAUTIFUL! This song is totally worthy of Bristlefrost, it tugged at my heart strings so hard!

I recently got back into warriors and I had the luxury of reading this whole arc in one go and not needing to wait for new books to come out. Bristlefrost quickly became my favorite charcter in the whole series, along with Shadowsight and Rootspring. All three of them deserved so much better.

Imo Bristlefrost's death was by far the most tear jerking. She didn't deserve to be gone forever... I hopelessly wish that they will make a short book about what happened to her. Maybe showing that she really does live on, but no one else knows. And I wish Rootspring would find her..
Maybe instead of going to Starclan or The Dark Forest, she would be stuck as a ghost, but the reason why everyone thinks she's gone forever is because no one can see her spirit. And maybe when Rootspring dies he would finally lead her spirit to Starclan.

I didn’t listen to this until just now, as I’ve read A Light In The Mist. And wow, does it ever cut deep. Bristlefrost did not deserve her fate, and I hope I see SOMETHING about her in the near future (if something has already happened, please don’t spoil). This song displays her struggles and accomplishments, then her eventual acceptance of inevitable death incredibly well! Blix has done it again!

Bristlefrost started off a bit annoying. She was focused on one thing only and when she couldn't achieve Stemleaf's love she wallowed in despair. She felt so one dimensional in the first book. It didn't help that instantly Rootpaw fell in love with her, and instead of trying to gently turn him down she was horrible about it. But then slowly, she wised up, after realizing Bramblestar wasn't really Bramblestar. She allowed herself to be scrutinized by not only her former crush and his mate, but her entire Clan. When even cats from other Clans turned against her and accused her of being a spy, she stayed strong! She saved Squirrelflight's life, and so many other refugees. She was insanely loyal to Squilf, even protecting the Imposter for her so that Bramblestar's spirit would have a vessel to return to. Something that even resulted in the death of several cats she loved, like Rosepetal and Stemleaf.
She worked hand in hand with Rootspring and Shadowsight to defeat the imposter, and she risked her own life *so many times.* When the Imposter tried to make her deputy, she refused at first, and when Squirrelflight returned, she didn't hesitate to step down. She wanted to earn her place in the Clan, not just benefit from other's suffering.
When Stemleaf died, she was by Spotfur's side day and night to comfort her, and when it was revealed Spotfur was pregnant, Bristlefrost didn't hesitate to promise her that she'd be by her side. It's so, so sad that wasn't able to keep that promise, because we all know she desperately wanted to. Bris never, ever wanted to abandon Spotfur all alone.
She went to the Dark Forest willingly *several* times, knowing just how dangerous it was. When it was decided the Imposter would be killed, she comforted Squirrelflight, knowing just how hard this would be for her. When Ashfur kidnapped Squirrelflight, Bristlefrost was one of the first to want to take action. She even helped ThunderClan reach temporary peace by suggesting Graystripe be acting leader, a decision nearly unanimously agreed upon, even by temperamental Lionblaze and grumpy Jayfeather! Despite being so young, she's even chosen to be ThunderClan's representative at an all-Clan meeting with Graystripe to discuss how to rescue Squirrelflight and kill Ashfur.
And when Shadowsight and Rootspring get stuck in the Dark Forest, Bristlefrost bravely goes looking for them. After noticing that Rootspring didn't manage to escape after she saved him and Shadowsight, Bristlefrost instantly went straight back into the Dark Forest! She can't do anything but watch in horror when Rootspring and Snowtuft are made to fight to the death, and she even grieves Snowtuft for his brave sacrifice.
Not only did she rescue Rootspring for the 3rd time now, she also managed to help some of Ashfur's prisoners escape, and found the source blocking StarClan! Not only that, but after being captured, Bristlefrost managed to convince her three Dark Forest captors to work with the Clans to save the living cats, the StarClan cats, and the Dark Forest cats.
When she noticed Shadowsight was being attacked by a rogue spirit, she saved him, and only moments later, when Ashfur was dragging an unconscious Shadowsight towards to water, Bristlefrost didn't hesitate. She *knew* what that water was. She was perfectly aware of exactly what would happen if she knocked Ashfur and herself into the water, yet Shadowsight was a dear friend to her. They'd been through so much together, not to mention he was her cousin. And so, Bristlefrost charged at Ashfur and instead of attempting to swim back up, she pulled Ashfur down with her. She had no regrets as she was dying, she only felt love.
Bristlefrost is a shining example of loyalty. She loved so, so deeply. She loved Rootspring. She loved her family. She loved Shadowsight. She loved Stemleaf. She loved Spotfur. She loved Squirrelflight. She loved Bramblestar. She loved Rosepetal. She loved ThunderClan. She loved life.
She had so much potential, and that is what truly hurts most. She had so much more life to give; she was so young! And yet, she was more than happy to throw everything away to save the cats she loved. She was so, so brave. She went through so much in such a short amount of time, and stayed strong through it all. She was so strong that not even Ashfur suspected her of betrayal until the moment she did.
Bristlefrost, truly, is what every warrior should strive to be. She would've been ThunderClan's most amazing leader had she lived.

But when I read the spoilers, when I learned how she died & not only that, but that her spirit is also forever gone - WHY, god, WHY ?! She died saving Shadowsight & her clan. Her & Rootspring had plans. All that forbidden love drama for nothing. They could never be.
I barely know anything about her. But I just wanna jump & pull her our of the water & scream "Bristlefrost ! NOOOOO !!!!" First Spottedleaf. Now this cat I barely know, who was just introduced & the main character in the same arc. If I already knew who she is & what's going on, I would totally be ugly sobbing & crying right now. well, they remade some of the rules of starclan so that cats like root could get judged on if they wanna switch clans or not, her sacrafice was not in vain, I assure you that.

I feel so bad for Bristlefrost. Her spirit didn't even have a chance to breathe before it faded. There have only been a few other deaths that broke me: Yellowfang, Snowkit, Bluestar, Firestar, and Mapleshade's kits. But none of them match this level of tragedy.

I've fallen in love with so many of your songs over the years, but none have touched my heart and made me cry like this one. I haven't read a warrior cats book in a long time, but with the pure emotion of the instrumental background and the gorgeous lyrics in this song have me tearing up. I don't know the character this song is based on, but I relate to the lyrics like it was I who wrote it. This sounds like my story, this sounds like my past, and I'll definitely be reading the books after listening to this masterpiece. When I first listened to this song, I hadn’t read The Broken Code and I didn’t understand it, but I finished The Broken Code not that long ago and when I first listened to this song after finishing The Broken Code, I actually cried.

Even though this song is about a fictional character, my cat just passed away and I came to this song to cry and remember her. She was with me for more than half my existence and saved my life allowing me to be here today. We found her while in line with her previous owner taking her to the shelter alone at 6 weeks old. I was only a child then, but I fell in love with her at first sight, and we brought her home right then and there, sparing her from being without a home and a family. Since then she more than paid back that on-the-spot favor; she saved me from myself, I stopped attempting suicide. She was there, whether she knew it or not, during my worst times, keeping me safe, keeping me alive. For that, I can never forget her.
