The reason why the plus came out so quick is because the RP3 was ready 15 months ago but they had complications, had the 3 come out on time the 3 plus would have been 12 months later, and that window is fine, the RP3 plays everything up to dreamcast perfectly so the people that bought it must have been fine with that, the fact the the RP3+ ads psp and some ps3 and gc is irrelevant as if the users that bought the RP3 wanted those extra systems they would have bought a different system entirely,
Hopefully the RP4 won't be long as the ambernic additions are killing it with small improvements
Yeah I can totally appreciate how the release ended up the way it did. Which is a shame to be fair.
No doubt the RP4 will have to be on its way soon, especially with the RG505 out! Anbernic definitely seem to be back on track

I just happened to get into these systems right before the rp3+ started shipping, I was looking specifically to play handheld up to gamecube, anything like ps3 and up would be best to play on the system itself or pc

Good video overall but you can't compare a PS5 game with a dedicated 40fps mode for 120hz display vs games targeting 60fps, but only running at 40fps because of a lack of hardware power. The latter is not running with sync'd frames and will not provide a smooth feel like a dedicated 40fps mode does.

Ordered the purple on preorder launch. It didn't ship out until NOV 28th. Worth it in its current price point only surpassed by the Odin lite for a bit more. DHL is the way to go as 4px takes a century.
I recently ordered mine.. how long did it take them to actually ship it out to you?
For me the main draw was playing PSP, DS, PSX and Dreamcast but with higher resolution and graphics options. Some GameCube I will play but not PS2. It's too much hit and miss.
The problem is not that 40fps isn't playable. The problem is that FPS isn't stable and goes up and down as well as audio issues with PS2
Still not there for GC and PS2+ as you say. With reported screen issues on early models, can you compare some retro stuff on both models. Would love to see a video of that.

How's the battery life?
I stopped waiting on these Handhelds to play PS2, and GC perfectly and jumped on the Steam Deck train. Along with those it plays some PS3, xbox360, Wii U and Switch.
Honestly I'm very hesitant. Especially with the KT-R1 coming out and you have to admit its yellow color looks better than the rp3 but it lacks shoulder buttons.

Can we admit how spoiled we are? I’m bought one for my kid, and I seeing all these videos lately. Is not worth it if you bought the regular one. If you didn’t, yes is a wonderful. You imagine paying 150 to have 1,000+ of games on the go. I wish I was born in this era.

Even just 5 years ago my mind would have been blown with these devices. Yet now we get all disappointed if the tone of white of the console isn't quite right 😂
Honestly dude, I was planning on getting a 3+, but seeing how Retroid left a bad taste in my mouth with some anti-consumer actions before this year ended, I think I'll be better getting something else.

At 3:13 u say u have to use the touch screen, did you try using the button remapper when u swipe right on the screen? It should let u map everything and use the buttons and sticks for all Android games
The high fps crowd is odd to me, I’m so used to 30 fps that anything higher just looks a little more smooth.
I actually prefer 30 fps
It's when a game starts getting too jumpy that it's an issue. FPS on these consoles is different to the native FPS of a game
I’d probably buy one of these if I wasn’t spending so much dough on Vita games lately haha. Trying to bulk up the collection and dive into some handheld gaming again. Do you have a PSP GO? I was playing Echo night and Burnout legends on my GO not too long ago. It all still holds up very well!
Yeah these devices are only going to get cheaper and better. Vita games are going to go up in price. I'd be focusing on the same if I hadn't gotten most of the Vita games I already want. 👍

I basically bought my RP3 to emulate PSP, its perfect for psp and runs almost every game in the library perfectly!
I sort of don’t agree with the comparison to Spider-Man because when a game is running at 40 frames per second on the Retroid pocket 3+ a lot of times it’s not just the frame rate that goes down, the whole game slows down, including the music.
Yeah I concede to that. But I personally still feel like anything emulated 40fps above plays well. Maybe that's because I'm so used to PAL 😁

I was immediately disappointed with mine. First game i played was Lowrider for PS2 and it played in slow motion. Tried all the tricks in the settings but still bad. Best it can do was below 40 fps. Japan verion seems to run better.
As long as it can play Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door successfully, I’m fine with my order I just placed lol
I waited a month for them to send this out, it got sent to a completely different state and i got nothing from the company just 0 feedback trying to get my package or a refund dont support these guys
I recently ordered one.. how long should I expect to wait for them to actually send it out? I opted for the fastest shipping.
I can't comment for fastest option as I always go for the slower, lol. Delivery for me was about a week after dispatch. However I have a new one ordered now for two weeks that hasn't been dispatched yet.

The comparison with modern games running at 40 FPS is not correct or useful, sorry. Newer games do not tie game speed to framerate, the game will run at the same speed regardless if it's 60, 30, or even 20 FPS. This is not the case for emulating older systems, where when an emulator drops from 60 to 40, that's a 33% drop in game speed. Note how I said game speed, not framerate; the game literally slows down, your inputs get delayed, the animations play slower, the audio crackles.
This is why speed drops in emulators make games unplayable, unlike framerate drops in modern games.

Yeah, for $150, 40 fps and even the occasional stutter is just fine, much better if it runs 60 fps with no stutter, but for $150 anyone crying about the performance just belongs in the special class for special kids.
Is that NBA streel vol.2 in PS2 or Gamecube???

Maybe I am misunderstanding something about emulation, but I keep seeing this. Why is everyone demanding 60 fps? Even the PlayStation 4 ran at 70. 60 FPS hasn’t been a thing in consuls until the newest generation from what I can tell. I think N64 ran on somewhere around 20 and it was fine.
Not really, 60 fps was a thing for most games until the ps3/xbox360 came and 30 kind of became the norm.
Sounds weird, but even the genesis and SNES did run at 60fps on their NTSC versions.
Just not enough power.

Ok so I tried ROMs recently and I think I’m just gonna do that, if it doesn’t hurt anything and no one’s gonna get in trouble then I think it should be fine

Just got a retroid pocket 3+ and none of the buttons are working, I am extremely dissapointed. Now I wrote to the company, but who knows... My recommendation, don't buy it!
