Hey Harry , those walker bay boats are a good little tender , I used to have one of the first ones ever produced , they do have a sail kit for them and they sail quite nicely too , but if you can find a dagger board or make one it would really help stabilize the boat when you use a motor on it solo , just have to remember to pull it up going ashore .
Hey! Yes I’ve seen those sail kits pretty neat but not really my thing, the stabilizers would be awesome I’ve seen a few pop up but I’ve been keeping an eye out for a 10’ with the stabilizers once in a while I see one pop up on market place but it doesn’t last long. Thanks for watching! Cheers!
Bear spray definitely works... Unless there's any wind! Rather than carry a Defender (bear shotgun), I carry bear bangers and a horn (I've used them they do work) and sometimes a knife which you hope you would never get close enough to use but there have been cases where a grizzly actually bit someone and was successfully deterred with a knife. One case was a bikepacker in BC.
Great vid bud! I feel your pain with the crabbing. years ago, I used to crab up island by the Cluxewe river, north of McNeil. 45 min soak and 18 legal crab. last time I went, 1 crab in a day and a half of crabbing. Commercial boats cleaned it out. What a beautiful spot you're at. looking forward to part 2! Cheers Greg & Erin
Haha yes I have my days for sure! I was thinking that as well, i definitely beat my GoPros up but haven’t lost one yet, knock on woods lol. Thanks for watching Matt!
Your videos are on another level of professionalism. I can't think of another channel that creates such dynamic and interactive work. I love Foresty Forest's mountain views but your shots are equally as beautiful with the lake and ocean views. And I agree with your statement that there is nothing like coffee on a cool morning while camping. P.S. maybe you should create your own blend. ☕
Cyndi, wow I'm at a loss for words... I can't thank you enough for such an amazing comment, its very inspiring to hear my videos even compare to a legend like Foresty Forest. Thank you so much for watching and once again thank you for such a heart warming comment. I look forward to posting more videos and hope they all give you the same level of joy as this one did. Cheers! PS In the hopefully near future I will have some products available, but I never thought about coffee I will keep that in mind and look into ones, Thanks again
Keep putting the time in and the fishing will eventually come together for you! Also, you might consider googling how to make your drone float, might give you a bit more confidence over water and maybe even prevent a drone loss…:)
Well they do say its called fishing not catching haha I'm sure my luck will come around. Also I must say I did google it hah, they have water landing pontoon thingys for drones, lol not sure how well they work but might just be a future investment. Thanks for watching, Cheers!
Years ago my buddy flipped his 14 foot aluminum at Rebecca Spit on Quadra isld . 2 rollers came in at 2 different angles and hit his bow when the 2 waves met , flipped him and his 2 sons ... boats came out to their rescue , lucky nobody drowned. . The wife was not impressed. Back in the 60s my dad fell overboard in the same area off a skif . He said it was so cold he got back in so fast his wallet in his jeans didn't even get wet . Watch out around Rebecca Spit .
Thank you for sharing those stories, I believe you very right with the caution. I've spent most my life on boats. My father was a Captain for Seaspan. I do take caution in conditions like these but I am comfortable & competent. Thank you for watching!
@outlandharry yeah it was one of those freak accidents. My uncle was a Captain for Rivtow and Hodder . I bet he knew a Jerry Miller ... cheers 🍻 rip Jerry
@@11silver-bullets He may have known him it is a small world. Id ask him but he has since passed on (from old age) he was 87 and worked for seaspan for 30 years. Also RIP Jerry. May there souls cross paths up stairs
