There's a big FOV increase from 110 to 143 apparently but judging by your comparisons at the end it doesn't make a huge difference ?
Hey there! Your videos are seriously the most awesome review videos I've ever come across. I really hope those companies are treating you well, because the dedication you pour into making these videos is simply mind-blowing! I've watched a bunch of your videos and I'm still scratching my head over which camera to go for. I'm on the hunt for three cameras, all with 360 capabilities, and I'm all about that top-notch video quality. Zoom isn't a big deal for me, and I'm not really into all the fancy AI detection stuff either. Just gimme the best video quality there is, along with pan/tilt, wired and solid night video performance. Budget-wise, I'm flexible - whether it's $200 or $300, I'm cool with it. I want to be able to use it with Alexa so can do some voice commands and see those cameras.

I bought one of this cam, but the live image has always been interrupted from time to time while recording and then requires me to turn it into view again on the app, is this normal or else? Plz tell...

Does the camera need to be connected to wifi all the time to work or wifi is only needed during the setup at the beginning 🤔
If you lower the fps, you might get cleaner video. Bandwidth slows down when you go higher fps on most cameras. Not sure if the new blinks have that option. I'm an owner of an alarm and cctv company in Jersey. I have some experience in the field after 10 years 😮 it works on most cameras I try it on, especially full color night visions 4k cameras

Thanks for going through the settings i was about to buy one but the fact it caps how long it records on motion detection is crazy, i dont get why they make it 10 seconds to a minute when any motion should be constantly recording and saving the footage.

Another negative about this camera that I own in earlier version, only one camera at a time will record so if you have something going on out front and at the gate with two different cameras only one will record at a time , I almost recently switched to Eufy but when I found out someone can walk up take the camera and push the sink button stealing your videos with it I didn’t go that direction either. Still looking for a replacement for my Blinks!

Using an iPhone. When you are on the Blink Home Screen looking at what the camera sees - if you tap the camera icon in the lower right it takes a picture. The picture does not go to “clips” or to photos in iOS. Where does the pic go? Maybe this feature doesn’t work at all?
Could use you this to live stream the feed feed to a website you think?
I went bought Wyze after blink I’m trying to figure out can I take blink back without my receipt blinks not it!! Wyze send quick notification they on point and cost lesss…
The blink 4 uses a very wide angle diffuser on the IR LED. Basically it is wider than the FOV, and thus gets washed out if near a wall to the side of it or close to an overhang since it lacks a lens hood. For indoor use the super wide angle IR light allows for bounced lighting to fill a room more evenly, though outdoors, it is better to have a separate IR flood light if it needs to be mounted close to a wall or overhang.
Yes this. I’ve noticed if there’s no light outside and it’s next to a wall or drain spout or anything close, it will steal all of the IR. Therefor making it useless at night. Unless you have flood lights on all night, which I don’t. I’m kind of in a pickle because one of the main reasons I got it was for driveway night recording.
So there is no rubber waterproof cover insert for the screw holding the back on? Odd for an outdoor camera. The other models did have the rubber cover
thanks for the video, what really sucks about Blink cameras is both of them can't record at the same time, thats bad because it could be picking up movement from one and start recording and the other can recored the movement if someone in front of it...
They added a new feature to the Wyze wired cameras so when you get the thumbnail without subscription you can click on the SD card and it takes you to that time in the SD card and you can watch the video, wish they did this for the battery cameras, so this is not that much better unless you can record to the base station without subscription.

You do know Blink cameras you can plug in a USB thumb drive to store all your videos without a subscription, right? I think the guy in this video doesn't realize this

The Module does it works on battery to ?
Amazon is currently selling this camera package for $100 including 2 cameras + sync module + 1 Blink mini camera. If we call the mini zero value, it's pretty much $33 per camera and $33 for the sync module. Do you think this price is more reasonable?
I actually like the fact that it is disposable battery because between the cold and hot temperature, if you have to throw away the entire camera because the battery is dead is not cool. Wonder if there are other models with disposable battery from other brands.
I have a question, will this camera alert you if someone comes to your mailbox if your mailbox is st the behinning of your driveway?
What do you recommend getting blink cameras now
I got a free Blink mini when I bought an Echo5 smart screen. It was great right up until the subscription nonsense started, and now it's just redundant. I only use my Eufy cameras now, which are far better....
The Blink Outdoor 4 works a lot better with the EBL Rechargeable Lithium Batteries, the Energizer Batteries are junk, the difference is very noticeable, I also have the same experience with my Garmin Backup Camera. My furthest Blink Outdoor 4 Camera picks up movement at 55 feet on the highest sensitivity setting, there is a 3 second delay in recording compared to half a second with my Reolink Cameras, but its still better than Wyze by a couple of seconds, overall the Blink Cameras are great as a supplemental Camera to go with a professional camera like Reolink. If you plug in the Blink Outdoor 4 Cameras there is even less of a delay. The Camera in your video looks significantly blurrier than any of mine and have 5 of them and they are amazingly sharp at night, I think you got a defective unit.
They got on sale today, 5 cameras 4th gen for 199. That's 40 bucks per camera now, looks good.
Blink 4 is not worth the price. I agree with your comments regarding the negative issues with the Blink 4. The night vision is really bad and the detection distance is short. I considered buying 6 Blink cameras but it's not worth it when you consider the limited capability of the cameras and they only record short clips. After watching your review of the Reolink CX410 cameras, I purchased the Reolink 8 channel NVR with 6 CX410 cameras. Reolink makes a great NVR and the CX410 cameras are amazing. I really appreciate your excellent reviews.

What is the range of the camera to the hub? Can I put the camera in my car which is about maybe 35 yards away but it’s got to go through a wall and will the hub pick it up? People keep breaking into my car, so I want to put the motion sensor inside the car now now…
should note these blinks are the ultimate easy stick up anywhere cameras for non-experts. reviewers always lie about the blink battery life. mine are still going after 3 years of extremely heavy use on the original batteries. reviewers always say they dont last long which is a lie.
that said the issues are many, no pc client, crap video quality which unfortunately it seems blink 4 did not improve much. and a very short live view timeout even for a battery camera. plus, they now have person detection which they didnt used to, but it takes a sub which is bs. and yes, these are under the amazon pricing system as amazon owns blink. dont buy at full price, much cheaper on sale. overall they are the only long life camera which operates on battery, and that's really their main niche imo, as the other aspects are poor. except it is a pretty good app i'll admit.
That's a lie the batteries could last years but in an "extremely high traffic area" they could last a few days. I install cameras for a living, we use blink a lot and I've seen these things die in a few days, to a few years.

Can we use any AA batteries
I have three of the old ones and I'm looking for one more to replace my inside camera, I have it pointing outside my window so it want get knocked around by the wind. I don't have the cloud I just want to use it on my phone so do I have to have cloud, I want to add it to my other?
You don’t need the cloud subscription if you use a thumb drive in try sync module 2. You will just not have person detection.

I have three ring cameras and two Nest cameras which are about to be bricked bye Google in April 2024 I have a ring doorbell and I also have a small nest camera hidden within a planter by the door to catch a different angle of deliveries at front door the front door is lit 24/7 so the night visions not important to me the original Nest cameras were small so it fit in my planter perfect I like the continuous recording of nest, a feature that ring does not have would this be a good replacement all opinions welcome
Will this connect to the wireless floodlights from gen 3?
Not at this time because it uses USB-C and not micro USB like the older models. Blink might release an adapter for this but I'm not sure.
I wonder if the lack of date and time stamps is because you have an Apple? Because my 3rd generation android has the time stamps but I think my mom's 3rd gen camera on iPhone, doesn't. I think.. can't fully remember. It may show the day but not the time? It's weird

I have the gen 3 Blink outdoor system. My only complaint is I wish it could detect motion at a longer distance. The only notable improvement in gen 4 seems to be the ability to mention whether the motion is from a person or not, HOWEVER Amazon wants you to pay for cloud storage in order for the feature to be activated which is downright pathetic!

I still have a question though: can this camera be used without the internet? Meaning, I you want to record on your car, can it sense movement, capture the image and store it for you to check it later?
Nope you'd need something like a game camera used in hunting. They can do both images and video.
This system needs a fairly quick Internet connection along with a separate camera control module to store images.

Yes it does save videos on the thumb drive. I've had Blink cameras for a few years now and I've never subscribed just have the usb stick in the sync module. 👍

It will only record people triggered motion and it will save battery life.

A resounding "no"! I bought three Blink4 cameras /sync module. One cam could not focus and the other went off network after two days. Packaged them up and returned them.
What do you kean by no snapshot preview?
The snapshot that you see with other cameras in the notifications. So that you don't need to open the app everytime there is a notification.

Great Video. In real world use, blink's offerings make their cameras even less of a value proposition. Unlike many of the ip cameras you review, blink only records events when there is motion, leaving you wondering what happened before and after. There is a limit on live view, prompting to continue watching after 15 seconds - after 10 prompts the live view shuts down, you need to then re-establish live view. Further restrictions that aren't immediately obvious is that there is no recording of live view, unless you have a cloud subscription. This, to my mind truly is a rip off, and renders the camera worthless without a subscription; You're notified of an event, you connect to live view, see an intruder but can not record what happened, unless you have a cloud subscription.
Gesus....i think at this point Amazon just wants all their blink customers to convert to ring so they really dont care About blink anymore Lol.
On another note what do you think about the eufy Solar wall cam? I knew you reviewed the hardwired wall light a bit ago but not the solar wall cam. I have one on the way.

How is Ring cheaper?
I'm confident batteries will last 2 years if you leave it in a dark room where nothing ever happens. And also its only an upgrade to me if you can zoom in on license plates and read them.
There is NO wireless cameras that can pick up license plates moving or still from 20-30 ft away

I consider the blink cameras pretty damm good, especially when bought on sale at 25 a camera. The subscription allows for up to 10 cameras for around 80 a year, which is peanuts.
So you can't view the camera's LIVE feed? there's a delay???

The Blink 4 camera has more (wider) video area coverage area than the Blink 3 camera. A Blink 3 camera truncates part of my house while a Blink 4 camera show the entire front of my house.

I'm a retired technologist. I am currently using/testing Arlo, Blink, Ring, and Wyze "security" cameras.
Here's my brief evaluation of Blink cameras:
Blink makes the best $25 camera that $100 can buy.
Snide humor aside, a $33 Wyze v3 camera is more reliable, and produces superior video to Blink.
The ONLY positive element of Blink is its battery operation. But, if you have an available electric outlet, take Blink OFF your consideration list.
Blink is:
A) too expensive;
B) has mediocre video;
C) has unreliable security;
D) its tech is outdated;
E) its fees are excessive.
If you must have battery powered only, the Eufy S330 seems to be a good choice at this time. I will be testing that system next.

Pretty good definition of blink cameras but for me, they are working great, and I've bought my cameras for 25 each, which is spot on like you said.
If you were a real "technologist" or whatever you call yourself, you wouldn't recommend any of these cheesy cameras.
I have 6 Blink XT2 cameras up, and 3 of them have been up since 2019. I kid you not, they are still running on the same 2 AA Lithium batteries that came with them, and they are still showing "good" battery status. Have not had to change batteries even once, and it's all still no fee. These new cameras comparatively are a joke in my opinion.

I’m sure they have checked their footage. Perhaps they don’t have many camera triggers because there isn’t lots of motion where they set them up.

Person detection is all that’s was missing but I will not get a subscription for this feature. It can be done without a subscription. I think I may move away from blink for this reason.

I’ve got XT1 and XT2s. Grandfathered in to free cloud. I see no reason to upgrade. This looks no different.

What's ridiculous even with the sale price is that it's usually for 1 camera. I wanted 5 cameras for my home, which they do have a 5-pack, but the problem is that the single camera with sync module is on sale for $65. The add-on camera without sync module is on sale but not as much, for $90. The 5-pack with sync module is not on sale, so $400 with sync module. I ended up ordering having to order 5 single camera WITH a sync module in each one because this is the cheapest option, coming out at $325, instead of $400. This is a waste because I would only be using 1 sync module, so pretty much throwing out the other 4 sync modules, unless anyone wants to buy them for cheap on marketplace or offerup.
I like the blink products but not if it doesn't come with Type-C port for the blink bridge. Why are we still using micro power cable old and not further prove. I wouldn't waste my money on this DWMT!!

All wireless cameras are almost the same. They all suck at picking up moving objects, can’t get moving vehicles license plates. It’s 2023 and we still don’t have really good security cameras smh…

I have a ton of different cameras over the past 28 years at my house. I have 13 cameras on the front of my house at this moment. Two of them are blink cameras. And they are my least favorite. Or you could say they were my most hated. They are worthless in my mind.

Definitely not worth the price! I find that blink is a fairly decent perimeter alert camera. The 10 second cooldown is annoying and I wouldn't rely on it as a stand alone system.
