Great video, good testing.
Excellent vid! It sure does appear that door locks are getting much much better.
Works great for us.
thanks, great video.
Thank you. 👍🏻👍🏻
You are welcome!
Thank you
Hi LifeHackster:
I am looking for doorbell with camera (WiFi and no hardwire) and the external cameras (same - WiFi and no hardwire / use battery or solar). The main thing is I dont want to store the footages locally either via SD card or using a hub to store them in external Hard drive.
I also look for to install security sensors on doors and windows.
What would you recommend?
Thanks!
On what you want which to record to the cloud and not locally, then look at Ring or Nest battery cameras and doorbells.
@@LifeHackstersorry, I meant I want to store the footage locally and not the cloud.
Main thing with this is it's harder to steal as it's screwed in from the back vs. a regular video doorbell. Though the video is not full height to see packages and the battery doesn't last very long. AA battery locks that use z-wave can last up to a year.
True. Thanks for watching!
Hi,
I apologize if i will not be able to search for it here we'll anyhow do you have an installation guide for camera doorbell such as lorex in which I don't have an existing doorbell. Can you please guide me thru and how will I connect it to my fushion nvr. Your respond will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
Is there anyway I can change notification noise on my iPhone for eufy?
Yes, in the notification settings in the app.
Smart lock aside, who has the best video doorbell? It seems like the hardest things to get right is video prior to an event (I think that Ring calls it pre roll) and auto display to an echo show or nest hub. Thanks.
I have the S330 and because there is a battery there is no pre-roll - so it's a lot of video of people just walking away. I was hoping this might improve that but I guess not :(. Thanks for reviewing!
Thanks for watching!
I like it but how well do they work with screen and storm (glass) doors?
It uses a PIR sensor which will not work through glass.
I also have the Eufy smart lock touch and WiFi, I also have the cosmetic changes around the keypad. Good thing is it still functions but my only concern is how much longer? I know the it’s the SoCal summer heat is the cause.
I think it is the Texas heat on mine. Thanks for watching!
Great video. I'm waiting for your review on the reolink Argus pro+ (2024) and reolink CX810 (2024) cameras. Has Reolink provided you with any sample cameras yet?
Not yet. Hopefully, soon.
Is this compatible with homebase 2?
It bugs me to no end that the video and audio is out of sync ( 7:37 ). How does that get past quality assurance? Makes you wonder about the company that lets that into production. Also, I prefer keyless versions of smart locks, one less bypass method available.
Just a note on this, the recordings when played in the app, there are no sync issues. It is when that footage is downloaded to my phone (iPhone) so it has something to do when the video is processed or compressed. Wyze also has this issue and which I sometimes get the footage from the SD card. Unfortunately, with the eufy, you can only get the footage from the app.
@@LifeHackster thanks for clarifying!
Thanks for the review. But it looked to me as though the camera is too heavily weighted towards exposing for the highlights, such as the sky and not the darker areas, such as people? Fairly typical of high dynamic range scenes though.
I didn’t think it would have motion notifications.
Is this lock waterproof? The door I would use it on is an outside door with only a storm door covering it. It would see moisture and full sun for most of the day.
IP65 - weather resistant
I use a utec lock because I have 2 deadbolts and is one of the only ones that fit on the inside. I would use this but it won’t work for my door 😭
Sorry to hear that..
This is a option if u want to do it u can (do max detection distance at night tests)
Hey LifeHackster! Are you going to be doing a review of the Reolink RLC-823S2?
Hi Sir,
I bough a house and want to installa security camera system. What you recommend for my home? I'm willing to spend any amount for this issue. Thanks in advance.
Go with wired IP/PoE/NVR cameras like Reolink.
@@LifeHackster Can you explain me why wired and not wireless. Cause I heard from my cousing that Arlo wireless with solar panels for the battery has been a good option.
@@israelgonzalez6250 you can search my channel about “wired” and “wireless” cameras but the main thing is that with wired or plugged in cameras, you can record 24/7 and see more reliable in detecting motion than any battery powered cameras. True wired setups like NVR or PoE and not WiFi based are not susceptible to WiFi jammers.
@@LifeHackster I appreciate a lot for your time to explain me all this. I'll take this on consideration guaranted!
@@LifeHackster Can you send me the model of the cameras that you think will be the right choice?
Reminder, not for houses with storm doors. Just to save you the trip.
Yes, it uses a PIR sensor so it will not work through glass.
Please i want know what is the best camera will be Appropriate with me
I want camera to recored 24/7 i will put it out door and i need it without any wire (will be better if the camera Support memory card record on it all time )
I want it too battery camera
I want you to tell me what is the best camera that suits me based on your experience
My homebase has lost all the face images for some reason but shows just blank images for known people
Reach out to eufy and see if they can resolve it.
Too bad it doesn't have a bottom facing camera for packages. Maybe because the door knob would be in the way.
Hi is a way to link accounts. Ie. My own and my parents.and get notefied on both. But them to still be able to log in to there own. Ss there not in to tech but want it on there phone.
I wish this can be installed on Iron doors..
awful pricy even given that a decent smart lock is 100 and a decent video doorbell is 100 so the price isnt much more. somehow it seems hard to spend 240 all at once than 100 twice separately at different times
also no reviewers ever touch on pc integration, but it's a really big deal to me. i spend the most time watching cameras while browsing my pc, not the whole phone/motion alert nonsense. eufy has pretty poor pc integration. you have to use some rtsp program to view them on pc which gets complicated vs a actual pc client like reolink has.
Well most Eufy products are battery powered so you couldn't watch them 24/7 anyway on a desktop environment. Go with Reolink if you want that.
You can log in to eufys portal and you will be able to view your cameras…I’m just not sure if all their models can do this. You also need to give permission on the app to be able to do this.
@@LifeHackster oh, probably, but i read it only lets you view one at a time maybe. i was confusing it with my tapo which works how i said.
Here's the thing. I don't want *all* those things talking to eachother. Doorbells don't have the highest security measures hack wise, why would they? But the lock to your door?? Not comfortable with that
unless Eufy sends me a free one i'm not paying almost $300
no apple home kit support?
Unless lockpicking lawyer confirms its decent avoid at all cost
Unless you hire the lock picking lawyer to pick it. Well, he will also need a WiFi jammer…
You're saying the outside is made of plastic? Oh you'd have to do is hit it with a hammer and you could get in the house
The inside unit mostly plastic (bracket is metal)... all metal outside.
