I have ridden both. The riding feel on Himalayan is amazing but I have never seen a Himalayan without reliability issue. Where as xpulse is bullet proof road, no road, city, highway, milage, comfort it ticks every box. I think one should buy Himalayan if he really want a Himalayan but If someone want a better bike he should go for xpulse. Xpulse can do everything what Himalayan does.

Xpluse 200 4 v .....5 times a week i ride from mumbai to thane and back...eastern express highway ...the road is terrible..uneven. potholes ..plus horrible traffic in the evenings.. No back aches..no tiredness when ridden for 90 to 110 kms within city commutes . Closes gaps easily . And once a month lonavala ..pune rides .. Amazing bike good for city and highways..

I have heavily test driven all Himalayan versions and none of these appealed me, except the low end torque.
Xpulse 4v is a wise choice if your riding is biased towards offroad.. It's lighter & more reliable.. I hope Hero takes this category seriously.. It's a damn good package overall.. Well done Hero..

Don't shift every gear after hitting limiter. If you shift just a second before that, it'll make a difference in acceleration figures. Nice video btw! Xpulse gave a tough fight till 90kmph in acceleration. Though Himalayan has a top speed of 136-138kmph, actual cruising speed is 90-110 kmph only! Thay won't make Himalayan a great tourer. Luggage carrying capacity and it's big size also the riding ergonomics makes it a good tourer. So pick wisely! ♥️

For long stretches in the plains doing touring rides, cold high Himalayan desert and moderate rough roads the Himalayan is very good. But on the hills in the NE with slippery and winding roads, short straights and very bad roads the Xpulse is unbeatable
0:47 a horse is what the Himalayan looks like, and that also is its nature - it's an industrial, work-horse. For touring on the highway, the Himalayan will do better on long, good roads. However, the XPulse is a better off-roader, considering the weight of the Himalayan. The XPulse is more agile and manageable on bad tracks and I'm sure on the average, more riders will derive more fun out of the XPulse taking it away from the highways as not every one will be that good of a rider to extract maximum joy out of the Himalayan due to its intimating weight for most riders. The only thing against it is that it isn't an RE 😂 Spoken from experience of riding both.
Thanks for this comparison video. I am planning to buy the Xpulse in 2024, most probably Pro version and I think it will be the logical choice for touring and offroad as well. It is a cheaper bike to live with and it looks unique, really different than other ADVs available in our Indian merket.

Driving on trails is not all there is to off-roading. For example if you had ridden in the river-bed running parallel to that trail, you would realize that the low end torque of the Himalayan is much needed to climb over boulders and fallen logs and climb out of pits or maintain a minimum speed in sand or mud. The xpulse would fall short in all these scenarios. This statement is very subjective and depends on what one intends to do in the name of off-roading
