Hero xpulse is the only true offroader here. But little underpowered. As a tourer I dislike it for its grasshopper like look. Other three are much good looking. To me appearance is also important. Sujuki's vstorm 250 is also a great tourer
Pocket ktm390adv/ 310g Mind : Dual road adventure is non existent in India, don't bother, use ur car Heart : Hero Going for hero.... light, nimble and almost offroader.
Himalayan is complete package, great suspension setup, low end is superb, seat foaming is best in all these 4 The only thing i miss is little bit more power, but still it's great performer at 100-110kmph
x pulse makes sense, but it lacks the appeal, g310 is overpriced & ktm is just a duke with long travel suspensions, Himalayan is the best option here imo
If its pure adventure then Xpulse. Its lighter and cheaper to service, with Xpulse you have a freedom to take the bike to the extreme as your mind is not thinking of hefty service cost if you ever crash.
Himalayan lives up to its name. Thanks to RE for the legend. Simplicity at its best. It may not be having all electrical gadgets however it does get sufficient things you require and explore nature peacefully. Adventure is not a race, it gives thrills, excitement, purpose and this machine does it job well if you willing to go . No bike is perfect you get what you paid for and your bike ride style. KTM for fast agile , bmw for comfort and fast enough but comes at a price and ownership cost . xpulse mini himalayan if you have budget constraint and not able to go for himalayan . Himalayan hits at the sweet spot .
That was a great video, good analysis and I liked the very last part where you explained the main purpose for each of them. I have to say that most videos for these entry level adv bikes are from India, so I had a little bit of a problem understanding the accent at the beginning, but now i am used to it and I can enjoy your reviews and those from other Indian channels as well. @motobeam - Problem with BMW GS 310 even though price has reduced, dealers are charging additional fees for logistics,registration + insurance(seems high as well) etc that eventually pushes price to 3.55L close to KTM 390
Insurance covers all parts of the motorcycle is what I understand. Including panels. Its an insurance product specifically made for BMW. So the premium cost is justified I guess. Keep me posted if my data is wrong.

Every review misses the most important point . I want to bring to your attention that no matter how experienced the rider is he is bound to face an accident ( every biker has once met with one.) Most accidents are due to inability to control at high speeds( more than 100kmph) So I have made myself committed to not buy a speedy motorcycle. I wanna enjoy the ride and not become a ktm chapri. 100kmph is too much and enough on a highway Even if accident occurs I wont get injured that much (given the speed is below 100 .)
Xpulse.. Easy n cheap maintain nothing bulky to breakdown. Will take you anywhere everywhere. I want better light and breaks.. Little bit of mods and you are ready to go.
Fuel tank capacity isn't the final factor in deciding how far a motorcycle can "go the distance". We have to consider the mileage too. If you have less mileage then some 2-3 extra litres does not make a lot of difference. In my opinion.

I do my adventure trips on my Hero Bicycle gives me more milage than anything else and keeps me healthy btw ican't afford to fill up tank for Rs.100/lit
Himalayan is best but it has tube tyre. Matlab puncture lagane mein band baj jaayega aur expert ki tarah sikhna hoga sab kuch khol ke fix karke wapas lagana. RE Meteor Supernova is best 💙
If I m buying any bike at 2 lakh cost range then I will put my hard earned money only if the manufacturer gives me 1) Very Comfortable Seat and seating Posture 2) Very comfortable Suspension 3) Decent Power, Torque, Average which is at par with competition of similar segment 4) Safety with Dual Channel ABS 5) Very good tyres with good grip on roads during all seasons. 6) Liquid Cool FI Engine 7) No Vibrations 8) Looks and Features would be only an added advantage
Cone set is still issue in RE himalayan and fit finish is not at all good in Himalayan and vibes don't know when it will go And the service for Himalayan is 4000 where KTM has 7500 BMW 10000 and xpulse 3000 now compare U will come to know who's is cheap

Consider service intervals while comparing service cost. BMW 10000 Km once, KTM 7500 KM once, Himalayan 5000-6000 KM once, Xpulse 3000 Km once.

Basically you need two bikes - one for touring (Dominar) and one for offroading (Xpulse with rally kit)
