Thanks for the video. I narrowed down a continuous draw on the battery to the door lock actuators. The faulty actuator was causing the keyless entry remote module, located in the trunk(driver side, behind the anti-theft module) to stay activated, making a clicking noise and also draining the car battery to ruin. It was necessary to pull the #8 fuse under the dash fuse box out to stop the draw. Unfortunately unplugging the module didn’t solve the problem. It was necessary to unplug each actuator unfortunately to determine the faulty one!(had to remove both door panels) now trying to locate a new actuator.😣(Ford no longer makes them) only aftermarket or used available, so I’m hoping to locate a new aftermarket! Video was a big help! Thanks!😉👍

Wish you did a video on how to replace the dome light switch. Couldn’t figure out how to get it off the assembly

On my old 96er. The only button that does anything is the passenger side and it will only unlock...that mean I need new actuators ?

So neither one of my doors lock or unlock when I press the key fob. However, when I press the fob you can hear the actuators working just not doing it right. Is it common to have to replace both actuators or is this a sign of a different problem?

Do the actuators work when you push the lock/unlock button inside the car on the door panel?

Danny Johnson No, when locking my door I have to push down the black pointy thing. When I use the lock/unlock button it makes the same sound as if I used my key fob.

Yescaleb It sounds like it may be. One last thing I would do is swap some buttons and wiggle some wires to make sure it’s not a loose connection. Here is how: ruclips.net/video/SU6OkG54FMc/видео.html

Danny - I am seeing conflicting info across sites if that is the correct actuator for a 1996. Even your link to amazon notes in the details that it is for 1999-2004. Can you confirm it is the correct part for a 96?

Do I have to disconnect my battery first?

It’s always a good idea, but maybe leave it connected until you unplug the motor so you can move the window up and down and try tapping on the motor

Amazing video so I noticed that my locks won't actually unlock when I turn my car off you know how they usually unlock when you turn your car off as it knows you're getting out lol and also it won't lock when I put the key in the ON position in order to start driving they should lock as it knows you're about to drive but they lock and unlock with the button inside the car and with my fob what do you think it could be? I appreciate it

That’s not a factory feature for this body style.

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage oh really? Oof I must be going crazy because I swear that when I would turn my car off my doors will unlock and if I put the key in the run position they'll lock

Not the same on the 1994-98. This is great for a new edge but not 1994-95

my 1996 Mustang has a different one from this.... I wonder if mine was built in LATE 1995? the part I got matches the one in the door, but it looks different in the video
