Vegeta smile says everything, not only was he excited to see 2 sayains fight but even more excited to see Gohan going back to being the sayain warrior he once was as a boy.
I love the smile of Vegeta when sensing the fight. I think he was always impressed about Gohan's potential. Even in the Freeza saga when Gohan attacks 2nd form Freeza he was surprised by his potential and thought that he might be a super sayian. Then he surpassed everyone in the Cell saga and even thought Goku had died, Vegeta continued training to surpass Gohan and the fact that he wasn't as strong against Dabura as he was when fighting Cell, was also a cathalyst for the maijin Vegeta. As he died shortly after, he probably never saw the power of Ultimate Gohan, but we know that he always kept him in the highest regards. To a point that he actually said in Super that Gohan had the highest potential of any warrior they know. And so, for him to sense him back in a fighting form and showing a power like he never saw him display before, made him happy that potential was not wasted anymore.
About the times that Gohan was more powerful than Goku, there were technically THREE occasions he was more powerful. One was as a ssj2, two was mystic, and the third and FIRST time was revealed when he got kidnapped by Raditz. Gohan was just a timid scared boy who didn't know how to release his power and wasn't aware of it. But Raditz scouter showed that his power lvl was higher than Goku's and Piccolos.

Keep in mind Gohan is THIS strong now without any fancy stuff like God Ki or things like that. This is just his seemingly infinite raw potential coming out even more. Also poor Tien lmao, did he knock over Gohans research one day or something cause man just had it OUT for him.
It would have been great if they both fought each other at SSJ2 at first, then Goku powering up to SSJ3 and Gohan as Ultimate. Would kind of bring the vibes of when Gohan was destroying Cell as a SSJ2, as well when Goku fought Vegeta during the Buu Saga as SSJ2's. Then lastly we would have finally gotten to see SSJ3 vs Ultimate, and prove to the doubters that Ultimate is the stronger form.
5:10 now this is a fight goku is probably not holding back in base form, ssb form he was holding back even though he went kioken he doesn't have to use it's full or even half its power he just wanted to honor gohan's wishes so no real power scaling problem here thankfully
Gohan reaching blue levels with like a day of training is a reminder of why Gohan is the goat. He just has so much natural ability and always has. Even Vegeta had alluded to this, that Gohan had the most untapped potential out of them. I respect that he doesn't like fighting though, I'm happy to see he's settled down with a family. His childhood was so traumatic. Nothing like Future Gohan though, poor kid had his dad die and then months later all his friends and his mentor killed. I guess there was more than 2 times he was stronger than Goku, since Goku's full power at the beginning of Z was 980 and Gohan was over 1300. He was also stronger than Goku after Goku healed him from his fight with Recoome. Goku's max power without kaioken was 90,000, Gohan shot over a million and then beyond that vs 2nd and 3rd form Frieza. Goku's zenkai was absolutely massive after that though so yeah it wasn't until the Cell Games that Gohan was vastly more powerful, and then again when elder kai brought out his power. I think he's gone way beyond that same power at this point in time
In my Opinion, The One in Billion chance of a Special Mutation of Saiyan Genes when combined with Human Genome, gave Gohan a little extra edge over the other half blood and pure blood saiyans. Gohan's Latent abilities to tap into something even stronger in so much short time than his predecessors ever could or imagined...............is a living testament to his special existence even among Saiyans🙌🙌
I think future Trunks has the same potential or even more maybe, considering he has never had his potential unlocked and he boosted himself in the Goku Black arc from ssj2 to SSB lvl of power within a few episodes
Baris you was wrong about Gohan . He wasnt in his Ultimate form when both he and Piccolo first started fighting Goku and Tien . He went into his Ultimate form when he started to fight Goku 1 on 1
To be honest Gohan got his potential unlocked by Old Kai so that's a handicap and Akira wanted Gohan to be the new MC during that Cell Saga but then he realized that wasn't a good idea then put Goku back to number 1 strongest.

Imperfect Cell couldn't really do anything against Tien Shinhan's Shin Kikoho. Imperfect Cell has already absorbed 17 when Tien showed up. Tien might have been powerful enough to destroy 17 back then. Tien has been constantly training, yet somehow, they made him look super weak and 17 super strong.
vegeta always had that proud moment with gohan, he respected him his power, his ability. When he defeated cell he admired him for that
