I’ll never forget the first time I saw UI Goku! I was in complete awe of the amazing movements and quick action that Goku pulls off on Jiren and the Pride Troopers. Seriously, these two episodes were incredible!
29:17 The Ultra Instinct activation scene is so nostalgic. Man, It's really hard to believe that has been almost 7 years since Ultra Instinct has been first announced showing that Goku will have a new form back June of 2017 and officially came out in October of 2017.

My favourite line from this is from Whis, when he exclaims "it's so wonderful, oh I hoped for this!"...which I came to find out wasn't the original line. When I met Ian Sinclair at comic con, he told me that they had already dubbed something for that part & when he went back the next day, asked if he could try something else and it's the line we got in the episode.
Voice actors caring so much about the characters is why Dragon Ball has one of the greatest dubs in anime.
At the very start, I received chills. Seeing Madison reactions throughput reminded me how epicly special this moment is for Goku. I exspiranced the full range of emotions while watching this.
Fun fact, Jiren is voiced by Patrick Seitz who also voices Endeavor from My Hero Academia

Goku getting folded up by Jiren at 12:59 might be Top 3 moments of the whole Arc. Jiren folded him like a cheap beach chair in what was probably seconds in Dragonball time
Probably even less than a second. Heck! Even in real-time it was still pretty fast, so fast that I'm sure most of us had to rewatch the fight and pause or slow it down to see the fight choreography.
@@soulbade-x9709 we could probably do the math. Since each episode in this arc is like a minute or so. This took maybe 2 minutes episode time. It was probably less than 5 seconds.

Ultra Instinct is a technique that was unique to the Angels (prior to Goku using it) a move even Beerus couldn't master. As for if Whis can use it, yes, except Angels are always in the instinct state

It's arguable, I'll accept it in that category. I mean there are very many. His transformation into the Golden Ozaru from GT is certainly Epic. That beefy child body all jacked and the semi-ozaru growl; he has. Sean Schemel's SSJ3 Yell; Gohan losing it vs Cell; Armin yelling for Eren as he dives out of a plain. The whole combination of the animation and the music as Eren witnesses his mother being eaten. There really are way to many, bruh. lol Hell, the theme song "Rumbling" all on its own is also epic. Still I prefer Goku's LAST and final A.U.I. transformation over the first one.

EPIC! I first watched this episode in sub the day it released in Japan, and I was standing the whole time. At first it was because it was Goku vs Jiren, then it was just because Goku! Also remember, the Tournament of Power officially started 3 months before this episode aired!
Remembering when these episodes broke the internet and a bit frustrated when they deleted those scenes wherein,

2.) Jiren used 2 hands to stop the Spirit bomb

She's something different that you don't see that often. She's a protector of her own universe in her own way and I think that's cool. The first time watching these 2 episodes in the sub version were insanely powerful. I agree that the Japanese track over the fight is far superior. I also prefer Beerus voice line in the sub over the dub when whis asks him if he has any to say right before goku awakens. He says “he’s coming” vs “here it comes”. Makes it sound way more badass lol

I tried showing my partner this fight, and they were like "Dragon Ball is boring, just fight, power up, and fight over and over, and that's all it's about." And I was like "That's essentially what most anime's are, except some have more fillers than others, but this fight and power up is legendary amongst anime."
I tried to show my wife any anime and she doesn’t even give it a chance. I wish I could make her like it. If I could see her this excited for some of the biggest fights in anime history it would bring me joy but it will never happen🥺

Well no, it wasn't "just from his eyes" it was his energy; which is produced from his whole body. They eyes were just a visual cue that he actually DID something. Gust like when Gohan screamed and pushed all the Cell Jr's away. He used his energy. Jiren just did the exact same thing. It just LOOKS different. Like The Gallic Gun and the Kamehameha; they LOOK different, but they are the same attack. A constant beam/wave of energy. Also the Special beam Cannon or the Masenko or the Dondon Ray. They are all the same thing, just looking different and with different concentrations of energy.
Top tier set of episodes!! I was shook upon the first watch and beyond. From here on out, it gets wild

Have really been enjoying these since I came across them a few days ago. You guys are great! Do you think it's necessary to put those bars across the little screen of the show though? I've seen plenty of sports highlights reaction videos that haven't had any copywrite problems that are set up like yours with a small screen but that are not visually obscured like that. Just an idea to make it easier to see the show along with you without it being a strain to see
The very first sign of UI was in one of the first episodes, when Goku in his SSJ3 form unintentionally avoided Beeruses attack.
I think that’s different, that was more just a fear thing, before Ui was thought of.
@@FreeTheDimplesNo UI was thought of in Resurection of F movie when Whis was explaining it, and it came out 2015 and they probably wrote it the year before it came out obviously so 2014 was when UI was thought of
@@omenxxg The Ability of Ultra Instinct was always hinted even back in Dragon Ball,Roshi, Korin, Kami and even King Kai always had him train that way.. The Anime didn't dive in that but after rewatching everything it was always hinted.

UI Goku gave me the same feeling as when he turned super sayjin for the first time. And the music was epic. But in case you didnt know in the manga Roshi went UI against Jirin to show Goku how it was done

Writer confirms that angles are always on ultra instinct...so whis is always on ultra instinct , even in his normal condition.
And ultra instinct is a form that is very very tough to achieve even for gods but it can be achieved by anyone if they able to...its not like super saiyan transformation that you have to be a saiyan to transform into super saiyan.

One mistake I think they made with the Spirit Bomb, i think people from other universes should have gave their energy as well. I think it would make sense if other universes wanted Jiren to be defeated, and the attack wouldn't be a testament to Goku's power since a lot of it would be borrowed energy. Would also fit the whole mental warfare thing they were going for as well, as even with the energy of every universes fighter, (excluding U11), even that wouldn't be enough to take out Jiren.

The two moves that pushed Goku into his new powerup were taught by King Kai. I can only imagine if Goku had training from the Grand Kai or a powerup by Old Kai.

It's a shame the anime decided to divert from the manga's version of these few episode.
How Goku gets ultra instinct is shown and happens progressively...basically Goku had to completely clear his mind and emotion and fight purely on instinct. Master Roshi was actually the one who taught Goku, and demonstrated a kind of ultra instinct ability to Goku in the tournament.
Here's an interesting tidbit - Ribrianne is voiced by Veronica Taylor, AKA Ash Ketchum (OG 4kids dub) plus Ash's mother. Along with a bajillion other roles in the last 30 years. One of my favorite being Amelia from Slayers.

I always said that the UI roar is probably unique to the Saiyans. It's most likely the Oozaru within. Being that it's based on instinct, the oozaru would be their base instinct.
For people that maybe don't know the gods and their angels are named after different types of alcohol drinks while Sayians are named after vegetables and there's a race in the super manga named after different types of cereal foods
