Many people were upset that Vegito wasn't the one to finish off Zamasu but Future Trunks being the one to do so was fitting because it was HIS story & Zamasu was HIS villain.
Tbh it would make sense if Trunks drew energy from the multiverse instead of just a handful of survivors on earth, but ssb vegito should be way stronger than what killed zamasu's body as it stands. This time vegito wasn't toying either since he knew about the time limit so that's no excuse.

Goku's Kaioken kick was my favorite moment in Super. That was the most insane rage attack I've ever seen from a saiyan warrior. Dude Goku's arms are broken 1 leg down and STILL !!! With the one remaining leg pull out a kick like that AGAINST A GOD ?! 10/10 scene !
Goku putting so much power into that Kamehameha that he snapped BOTH of his arms was nuts. It took a couple years to even realize what he did because of the Vegito hype at the time.
He used life risking attack that Goku only does in kaioken. And this Time he knew he had to end this. If vegeta had plot he would use final flash with his full power zamasu end up being cell.
I don’t care what people say about this arc. Compared to the ones that came before, the Goku Black arc is arguably the most engaging of DBS, despite its flaws and retcons. Watching it again via these reactions makes me appreciate this arc more than ever.

In the Universe 6/7 tournament arc, Goku asked how Supreme Kai and Kibito unfused, and he explained that the Namekians let them to use their Dragon Balls to wish to be unfused. It's possible that Old Kai simply didn't know it only applied to Kais, and it's pretty obvious that deities don't know everything (a point that's brought up a few times).
It’s implied that the Buu saga was their first direct interaction with mortals like Goku and co. So they had never seen the potara be used by mortals. Shin is too young to have known the effects generally and Old Kai hasn’t seen two mortals use them. Gowasu is much older by eons and more knowledgeable so he gives it the explanation, it was an old plot thing from Buu that was waved away back then by “Buu is magic” but timing was just a coincidence.
It's also important to remember that in the Buu arc Elder Kai is stumped when Goku and Vegeta defuse. He guesses on why they defuse, but it is simply a guess and it really doesn't make much sense what inside of Buu would make them defuse, especially when Gotenks stayed fused inside of Buu. (The way they explain it in the Buu arc is more of a plothole than this. This kind of fixes any plotholes with Vegito defusing inside of Buu.)

Potara was set to be permanent so some excuse had to be made to defuse and “Buu is a weird magical being” was the explanation and everyone accepted it, Gotenks is temporary so no excuse is needed. Try to justify it all you want, this is simply a retcon

"Why isn't he just killing them?" My take is Merged Zamasu was toying with them like 50% Freeza style. He's on a power trip and enjoying the high. He thinks actually having to exert himself is beneath him now.

Zamasu was getting bodied by everyone but just can’t die. He doesn’t improve so the power boost isn’t really much. Especially since Black and Vegeta were evenly matched.

Future Trunks = best Trunks. Him finishing off Zamasu is simply poetic and amazing. If Madison ends up playing DBZ Kakarot, I’d love to see her playthrough on the Trunks DLC I think she’s gonna love how much emotion they put into it. Also Kibito and Supreme Kai split because they went to New Namek off screen before the U6 vs U7 tourney to ask Porunga to split them back into 2
I wouldn't say it was retconned because previously in DBZ Buu Saga it wasn't explained why they diffused. So they just explained it here on why its not permanent. Not a retcon lol. They explained what was not explained previously. Retcon means changing what previously was told. Different things but looks similar.
This was awesome watching your reactions through this arc was so thrilling. And the fact that Trunks finished off Merged Zamasu was beautiful ending, there is 1 episode left thou and then we are off to the Universal Survival Arc (Japanese name for the final arc of Dragon Ball Super). The Vegito potara fusion was never rectconed. Dragon Ball Super just offered a more clearer explanation on why Vegito unfused. In Z Vegito unfused after he allowed himself to be absorbed by Super Buu & here in Super, Vegito also unfused after he was about to finish off Merged Zamasu. At first we all believed that Vegito unfused in Z because Buu's body dissolved the fusion, but it was actually because of the time limit.

@@Spidey-ff8dc the Potara fusion is only permanent for Kais. The reason why Elder Kai thought the fusion was permanent for anyone was because he is a Potara fusion of a Supreme Kai & an old witch. He probably has only seen kais do the Potara fusion.

When Supreme Kai and Kibito showed up at the tournament event between the 6th and 7th universe, Goku asked them how they separated and supreme Kai said they used the dragon balls to split apart
I didn't mind the Potara retcon because it simply explains why Elder Kai & Kabito Kai stayed fused and Vegito didn't and it doesn't really contradict anything. I wasn't on board with the idea that "Buu's body is magical so it must've defused them". Why did Gotenks stay fused in Buu and not Vegito if that was the case? What would be the point in Buu absorbing fusions if they're just going to defuse and make him weaker?
I can't believe, after all of these years, I never even once thought of Gotenks still being fused inside of Buu. I guess I just chalked it up to it being the dance instead of the potara. Thank you for this.

But when they use potaras, Vegeta’s personality prevails and since he calls Goku, Kakaroto (japanese), the combined form is called Vege-to, as in Vegeta/Kakaroto and not Vegeku as in Vegeta/Goku Fusion- Goku/Vegeta Potaras- Vegeta/Kakaroto
This has never been true and has just been made up. Gogeta is just as cocky as Vegetto. He's cocky against Super Shenron and he's cocky against Broly. He even shows off against Janemba even when going for the quick kill.

Supreme Kai and Kibito stated early in Super that they went to Namek to ask if they could use their Dragon Balls to undo the fusion. They were sort of tricked into fusing by the Elder Kai anyway. Elder Kai assumed they were permanent as that's how he was taught back in his day but back then the idea of a Kai fusing with anyone other than a Kai would be completely unheard of.
I always thought merged zamasu was always weakened after tanking that final kamehameha, which is why trunks super saiyan rage + spirit bomb sword combined gave him the advantage. Granted idek how that spirit bomb even started for trunks... but idk.
You are correct. Zamasu's body had taken a lot of damage from Vegito. So Trunks was able to finish off with his sword after being powered up by the Spirit Bomb of course.
Trunks doing what he did at the end is a massive ass pull since the amount of energy he needed couldn't have come from the few survivors of Earth and a weakened Goku and Vegeta, but he did need the win. It's his arc overall. Even though as those who have seen this arc through, he doesn't necessarily get the win anyway.
Trunks' dialogue/speeches when fighting Zamasu at the end was great & is hands down my favourite from the entire Super series. Had the chance to meet his VA Eric Vale at a comic con where he told me it was also his favourite piece of dialogue to record for the character
25:21 Technically the retcon happen in dbz and super just gave an explanation. In the series and manga no explanation was given for why they defused And also The S.Kai and Kibito defused by using the Namekian dragon balls. It is referenced in the manga. Love the vids btw
Double Episode was great. Vegito's clothes makes no sense based off of what they're wearing. SDBH does that correctly. The Potara retcon kills the value of the fusion dance. Also the time pacing makes no sense because they stayed fused longer as Gogeta Blue with supposed less time available. Finally it's extremely stupid that Trunks not only just suddenly was able to use the Spirit Bomb but he's able to draw the energy both while fighting and while Super Saiyan making it better than Goku's now. The end of the arc is when the writing is bad
The Goku Black arc sort of granted an episode i would've liked to have seen. Pilaf and gang overhearing the warriors talk about how Goku hitting his head as a baby and Pilaf making a wish to have Gokus personality change to what it would be if he never hit his head. Then Goku becomes a villian for awhile. 😁
The power scaling of Trunks and defeating Fused Zamasu was still pretty bad in my opinion. It would have been nice if Vegito would have defeated him using Final Kamehameha. It would also make way more sense if Trunks entered the Hyperbolic Time chamber again to train and learned how to obtain SSJ god using the ritual with the others, then I can see Trunks defeating Zamasu.
Yeah back in the DBZ days the explanation was that Majin Buu's magic de-fused Vegito when he was absorbed. But that was really just a hypothesis since that circumstance had never happened before. I think it's completely plausible that Supreme Kai did not know that mortal Potara fusion was not permanent back in the Buu saga.
The potara earring fusion is actually not a retcon as they defused in Z when they went into Buus body and didn't know why. They just confirmed and addressed it here 😁
Vegito vs Zamasu was the best animated episoe up to this point. I was losing my shit watching this the first time. I can still feel the chills when he yells "BLUUUEEE" Ah man so good. Wish it lasted longer.
Freaking amazing arc! Beautifully done, 10 out of 10 for me... well it could be like a 9.5.. my only issue was I wanted to see MORE OF Vegito Blue! 😂😂😂 I remember when I watched it the first time, I was jumping in joy and excitement through and through, but I always felt like they coulda made the Vegito vs Zamasu fight a little longer... I was okay with Trunks taking down Zamasu, as it does make sense to tie in the arc. Nice I see you on the double episodes. This was a real treat for me today.. I know I'm a lil late, picked up some hours at work, but I've enjoyed these episodes like watching them for the first time again! 👍

Answers to all questions.... *"How did the Supreme Kai and Kabito get unfused?"* They use Namek's Dragon Balls as they stated in the U6 arc. *"What's the Potara earrings time limit a retcon"* Debatable. Let's look at this from a different perspective, if you must insist it's a retcon it's a very "soft" retcon. Because you have to remember when Goku and Vegeta defused the first time, Goku's only explanation that it was the atmosphere and energies inside Majin Buu's body that defused them, but remember it was pure speculation on Goku's part. When you leave questions open-ended, and ambiguous like that you're asking for a very soft retcon for the explanations, there's a good saying in this.... *"Sometimes you don't want all your questions answered, and sometimes the mystery is better."* ....However this adds more World building into this because you have to remember that these earrings are inventions by the God's, it kind of makes sense in a way that these earrings were specifically made for them. *"Why was Fused Zamasu bloated and messed up looking besides Gowasu's philosophical explanation?"* It's mainly because when they fused, they merged while Goku black was still in Super Saiyan Rose. In which old Kai stated if you merge while transformed, it will take it's toll on you. And I think that's everything, I'll end with this..... Madison: *"I'm glad trunks got to be the hero"* Um 😨😅 .... Next episodes going to really throw you through a loop. It won't change his hero status but... 🤫😁

THE POTARA'S WAS NOT A RETCON! People need to realize how messy their beloved Buu Saga was and how Toriyama was just sprinting to the finish line at that point in the manga. It was never explained how Vegito unfused inside Buu, in fact up until Super it has been a popular headcanon that Buu's weird magic or shit in his body is what made them unfused. However, that never made a lick of sense since: Piccolo should've unmerged with Kami since it was basically the same principle as the Potara fusion and why wouldn't Super Buu take the shape of Vegito? Akira just needed a way to separate Goku and Vegeta and depower Super Buu so that Goku could defeat Kid Buu. Super was just plugging in a decades long plothole
Namekian fusion is not comparable to Potara fusion. It’s more comparable to absorption than anything else but the party being absorbed still retains its personality somewhere within the depths of the party absorbing said individual.
Awesome two episodes; the father son galick gun, Vegeto reappearance with supersaiyan blue, Final Kamehameha and kia infused sword with a spirit bomb like finish. I think having Trucks do the honors was a nice way to end the battle. Also great lines as well. You got to love the cockiness of Vegeto.
This arc is definitely my favorite in all of Super. It has its flaws and retcons, of course, and not all of it completely makes sense, but I'm more than willing to let the weird stuff and the inconsistencies slide. The mystery, the dark and gritty tone of the arc, the callbacks to earlier parts of the franchise, the high stakes for future Trunks and his world... it all blends together to create the perfect DBS saga. As it stands right now, this arc is my favorite, with the next one being second on the list, but we'll see. Depending on if/when the anime returns, and how it handles everything that's happened since the Tournament of Power wrapped up, things could theoretically change for me. At the time of this comment I admit I do not foresee that happening, but only time will tell.

No word of a lie, the 'No More' soundtrack when Vegito and Zamasu comes to blows is just spine-tingling and hair raising... I play it on repeat consecutively. One luv for doubling this episode. Let's get this arc out of the way now, and PLEASE, FOR GOD'S SAKE, Don't skip the baseball filler episode.. It's one of the Best fillers ever.

Baris, I think you touched on a really important thing here at the end that a lot of fandoms should grow to recognize. Too often we watch something with a judgemental eye of nostalgia or what our expectations have put on it, when what we really need to do is look at how someone new is experiencing it, and let it stand on it's own.
Ep 65: 10/10 It just goes on and on Here we get to see Fusion Zamasu use his full power. There are in fact some other scenes with Future Yajirobe and the surviving humans. Fusion Zamasu has this really cool red halo like thing over his body. Most fusion characters have a combination of the voices of the two characters fusing. This just seems to be Future Zamasu's voice. This episode is mostly nothing but action. Yeah, that's really all it is. It's just Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks fighting Future Zamasu and you know what? That's completely awesome. It does in fact seem like this episode doesn't have much purpose. It's just nothing but one epic fight and that's wonderful! One episode is really all we need to get this fight out. It's what this franchise is loved for. **** Ep 66: 10/10 Hello Vegito! Warning: Spoilers Admittedly, this episode doesn't advance the plot that much, but it's still awesome because we get to see Vegito return! The character had appeared in only a few episodes of "Dragonball Z" and he's a fan favorite! Goku and Vegeta find out that the fusion will only last an hour and since they aren't Kais, it will not be permanent. They defused in DBZ, but I thought that was because they were absorbed by Majin Buu and the rules of reality didn't apply in his body? Yeah, another continuity error probably. It's like "Dragonball GT", only more enjoyable. It's great to learn that Fusion Zamasu has a weakness. Future Zamasu was immortal, but apparently now he can in fact be killed due to Goku Black not possessing this ability. He turns into this two faced purple thing. It really is an interesting turn of events. Unfortunately, Vegito uses so much energy he defuses. There wasn't much point to his appearance, but it was fun while it briefly lasted. ****
Regarding fusion thing,no it wasn't explicitly explained in Manga. Goku only asked was it the reason,he didnt say it was the reason because Goku doesn't know much about potaras. So when they asked Gowasu now,they got the answer for it. Dbz anime probably added anime only lines which was not told by Toriyama in manga.
People hating on the ending. It makes sense for Future Trunks arc. Btw. Everybody looks at Zamasu as having the same power as he started. Vegito definitely depletes him enough for trunks to finally take him down. Even though he is immortal. It does take a minute to rejuvenate him. So constantly attacking him leaves him not able to regenerate. Also what people don't understand. Trunks story is a story of failure and tragedy. Yes he defeats the andriods. But he needs the past to train him to the point to where he is able to beat them. And then he is killed by cell. Which brings cell into the timeline. Then he is able to defeat cell. He defeats babidi and but is unable to protect supreme kai from getting killed...in turn ending beerus. Trunks story is tragic and it doesn't stop. And it only gets worse when goku black shows up. The guy whom was earths savior now the enemy. And puts earth back in destruction. After everything that happens, it ends in failure. Which is why he needs a restart. His world was doomed all along. And trunks has to live with all thoae failures and inability to protect his world.

this arc is beautiful, dark, sad and so many things that z fighters shouldn't have done that has been shown. and for the first time losing made us feel something in dragonball. i think for permanent fusion you need atleast one supreme kai. old kai made by fused with old witch. kibito kai fused with kibito but one of them are supreme kai so it's permanent. goku black and zamasu both of them stole the supreme kai title so they can fuse permanently. Goku and vegeta are not supreme kai. about winning Goku's beam struggling, you can see he risked his life and loses his both arm which never happened before in dragonball.

Merged Zamasu is toying with them because all fusions are arrogant. It's funny since Zamasu fused with Black so they could stop toying with them. In Z, Elder Kai is guessing when KabitoKai asks why Goku and Vegeta defused inside of Buu, so the one hour time limit isn't contradicted in Z. You can even argue the barrier Vegito made inside of Buu depleted the rest of his fusion time, which is why he defuses as soon as he lets go of the barrier. One mistake I think episode 65 made, at the end with the Kamehameha clash against Merged Zamasu, Goku should have went Kaioken to overpower Zamasu. He uses Kaioken a few seconds later, so it just felt like a weird thing to keep out of the Kamehameha beam clash and it would have made it more believable if he overpowered it with Kaioken. Power scaling issues aside with Future Trunks, I do love that they gave him the win. The story in this arc is imo as strong as it is because they kind of take a step back from the power scaling and go "what would fit more with the themes of this arc". This is the Future Trunks arc, he should have a vital role in the arc. In the FT arc manga he spends most of teh arc knocked out.

I don’t care what people say about this arc. Compared to the ones that came before, the Goku Black arc is arguably the most engaging of DBS, despite its flaws and retcons. Watching it again via these reactions makes me appreciate this arc more than ever.

In the Universe 6/7 tournament arc, Goku asked how Supreme Kai and Kibito unfused, and he explained that the Namekians let them to use their Dragon Balls to wish to be unfused.
It's possible that Old Kai simply didn't know it only applied to Kais, and it's pretty obvious that deities don't know everything (a point that's brought up a few times).
It’s implied that the Buu saga was their first direct interaction with mortals like Goku and co. So they had never seen the potara be used by mortals. Shin is too young to have known the effects generally and Old Kai hasn’t seen two mortals use them. Gowasu is much older by eons and more knowledgeable so he gives it the explanation, it was an old plot thing from Buu that was waved away back then by “Buu is magic” but timing was just a coincidence.
It's also important to remember that in the Buu arc Elder Kai is stumped when Goku and Vegeta defuse. He guesses on why they defuse, but it is simply a guess and it really doesn't make much sense what inside of Buu would make them defuse, especially when Gotenks stayed fused inside of Buu. (The way they explain it in the Buu arc is more of a plothole than this. This kind of fixes any plotholes with Vegito defusing inside of Buu.)

Zamasu was getting bodied by everyone but just can’t die. He doesn’t improve so the power boost isn’t really much. Especially since Black and Vegeta were evenly matched.

Future Trunks = best Trunks. Him finishing off Zamasu is simply poetic and amazing. If Madison ends up playing DBZ Kakarot, I’d love to see her playthrough on the Trunks DLC I think she’s gonna love how much emotion they put into it. Also Kibito and Supreme Kai split because they went to New Namek off screen before the U6 vs U7 tourney to ask Porunga to split them back into 2

I wouldn't say it was retconned because previously in DBZ Buu Saga it wasn't explained why they diffused. So they just explained it here on why its not permanent.

The Vegito potara fusion was never rectconed. Dragon Ball Super just offered a more clearer explanation on why Vegito unfused. In Z Vegito unfused after he allowed himself to be absorbed by Super Buu & here in Super, Vegito also unfused after he was about to finish off Merged Zamasu. At first we all believed that Vegito unfused in Z because Buu's body dissolved the fusion, but it was actually because of the time limit.

When Supreme Kai and Kibito showed up at the tournament event between the 6th and 7th universe, Goku asked them how they separated and supreme Kai said they used the dragon balls to split apart
I didn't mind the Potara retcon because it simply explains why Elder Kai & Kabito Kai stayed fused and Vegito didn't and it doesn't really contradict anything. I wasn't on board with the idea that "Buu's body is magical so it must've defused them". Why did Gotenks stay fused in Buu and not Vegito if that was the case? What would be the point in Buu absorbing fusions if they're just going to defuse and make him weaker?
I can't believe, after all of these years, I never even once thought of Gotenks still being fused inside of Buu. I guess I just chalked it up to it being the dance instead of the potara. Thank you for this.

Fun fact! When Goku and Vegeta fuse using the fusion technique, Goku’s personality over powers Vegeta’s hence the name Go-geta. But when they use potaras, Vegeta’s personality prevails and since he calls Goku, Kakaroto (japanese), the combined form is called Vege-to, as in Vegeta/Kakaroto and not Vegeku as in Vegeta/Goku

Supreme Kai and Kibito stated early in Super that they went to Namek to ask if they could use their Dragon Balls to undo the fusion. They were sort of tricked into fusing by the Elder Kai anyway. Elder Kai assumed they were permanent as that's how he was taught back in his day but back then the idea of a Kai fusing with anyone other than a Kai would be completely unheard of.

I always thought merged zamasu was always weakened after tanking that final kamehameha, which is why trunks super saiyan rage + spirit bomb sword combined gave him the advantage. Granted idek how that spirit bomb even started for trunks... but idk.
You are correct. Zamasu's body had taken a lot of damage from Vegito. So Trunks was able to finish off with his sword after being powered up by the Spirit Bomb of course.
Trunks doing what he did at the end is a massive ass pull since the amount of energy he needed couldn't have come from the few survivors of Earth and a weakened Goku and Vegeta, but he did need the win. It's his arc overall.
Even though as those who have seen this arc through, he doesn't necessarily get the win anyway.
Trunks' dialogue/speeches when fighting Zamasu at the end was great & is hands down my favourite from the entire Super series. Had the chance to meet his VA Eric Vale at a comic con where he told me it was also his favourite piece of dialogue to record for the character

Double Episode was great. Vegito's clothes makes no sense based off of what they're wearing. SDBH does that correctly. The Potara retcon kills the value of the fusion dance. Also the time pacing makes no sense because they stayed fused longer as Gogeta Blue with supposed less time available. Finally it's extremely stupid that Trunks not only just suddenly was able to use the Spirit Bomb but he's able to draw the energy both while fighting and while Super Saiyan making it better than Goku's now. The end of the arc is when the writing is bad

The Goku Black arc sort of granted an episode i would've liked to have seen. Pilaf and gang overhearing the warriors talk about how Goku hitting his head as a baby and Pilaf making a wish to have Gokus personality change to what it would be if he never hit his head. Then Goku becomes a villian for awhile. 😁
The power scaling of Trunks and defeating Fused Zamasu was still pretty bad in my opinion. It would have been nice if Vegito would have defeated him using Final Kamehameha. It would also make way more sense if Trunks entered the Hyperbolic Time chamber again to train and learned how to obtain SSJ god using the ritual with the others, then I can see Trunks defeating Zamasu.
Yeah back in the DBZ days the explanation was that Majin Buu's magic de-fused Vegito when he was absorbed. But that was really just a hypothesis since that circumstance had never happened before. I think it's completely plausible that Supreme Kai did not know that mortal Potara fusion was not permanent back in the Buu saga.

Because you have to remember when Goku and Vegeta defused the first time, Goku's only explanation that it was the atmosphere and energies inside Majin Buu's body that defused them, but remember it was pure speculation on Goku's part. When you leave questions open-ended, and ambiguous like that you're asking for a very soft retcon for the explanations, there's a good saying in this.... *"Sometimes you don't want all your questions answered, and sometimes the mystery is better."* ....However this adds more World building into this because you have to remember that these earrings are inventions by the God's, it kind of makes sense in a way that these earrings were specifically made for them.

THE POTARA'S WAS NOT A RETCON!
People need to realize how messy their beloved Buu Saga was and how Toriyama was just sprinting to the finish line at that point in the manga. It was never explained how Vegito unfused inside Buu, in fact up until Super it has been a popular headcanon that Buu's weird magic or shit in his body is what made them unfused. However, that never made a lick of sense since: Piccolo should've unmerged with Kami since it was basically the same principle as the Potara fusion and why wouldn't Super Buu take the shape of Vegito? Akira just needed a way to separate Goku and Vegeta and depower Super Buu so that Goku could defeat Kid Buu. Super was just plugging in a decades long plothole
Namekian fusion is not comparable to Potara fusion. It’s more comparable to absorption than anything else but the party being absorbed still retains its personality somewhere within the depths of the party absorbing said individual.
I think Vegetio looks more like Goku but at times I see Vegeta in him too

Awesome two episodes; the father son galick gun, Vegeto reappearance with supersaiyan blue, Final Kamehameha and kia infused sword with a spirit bomb like finish. I think having Trucks do the honors was a nice way to end the battle. Also great lines as well. You got to love the cockiness of Vegeto.

This arc is definitely my favorite in all of Super. It has its flaws and retcons, of course, and not all of it completely makes sense, but I'm more than willing to let the weird stuff and the inconsistencies slide. The mystery, the dark and gritty tone of the arc, the callbacks to earlier parts of the franchise, the high stakes for future Trunks and his world... it all blends together to create the perfect DBS saga. As it stands right now, this arc is my favorite, with the next one being second on the list, but we'll see. Depending on if/when the anime returns, and how it handles everything that's happened since the Tournament of Power wrapped up, things could theoretically change for me. At the time of this comment I admit I do not foresee that happening, but only time will tell.

Here we get to see Fusion Zamasu use his full power. There are in fact some other scenes with Future Yajirobe and the surviving humans. Fusion Zamasu has this really cool red halo like thing over his body. Most fusion characters have a combination of the voices of the two characters fusing. This just seems to be Future Zamasu's voice. This episode is mostly nothing but action.
Yeah, that's really all it is. It's just Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks fighting Future Zamasu and you know what? That's completely awesome. It does in fact seem like this episode doesn't have much purpose. It's just nothing but one epic fight and that's wonderful! One episode is really all we need to get this fight out. It's what this franchise is loved for. ****

Admittedly, this episode doesn't advance the plot that much, but it's still awesome because we get to see Vegito return! The character had appeared in only a few episodes of "Dragonball Z" and he's a fan favorite! Goku and Vegeta find out that the fusion will only last an hour and since they aren't Kais, it will not be permanent. They defused in DBZ, but I thought that was because they were absorbed by Majin Buu and the rules of reality didn't apply in his body? Yeah, another continuity error probably. It's like "Dragonball GT", only more enjoyable.
It's great to learn that Fusion Zamasu has a weakness. Future Zamasu was immortal, but apparently now he can in fact be killed due to Goku Black not possessing this ability. He turns into this two faced purple thing. It really is an interesting turn of events. Unfortunately, Vegito uses so much energy he defuses. There wasn't much point to his appearance, but it was fun while it briefly lasted. ****
Regarding fusion thing,no it wasn't explicitly explained in Manga.
Goku only asked was it the reason,he didnt say it was the reason because Goku doesn't know much about potaras. So when they asked Gowasu now,they got the answer for it.
Dbz anime probably added anime only lines which was not told by Toriyama in manga.

People hating on the ending. It makes sense for Future Trunks arc. Btw. Everybody looks at Zamasu as having the same power as he started. Vegito definitely depletes him enough for trunks to finally take him down. Even though he is immortal. It does take a minute to rejuvenate him. So constantly attacking him leaves him not able to regenerate.
Also what people don't understand. Trunks story is a story of failure and tragedy. Yes he defeats the andriods. But he needs the past to train him to the point to where he is able to beat them. And then he is killed by cell. Which brings cell into the timeline. Then he is able to defeat cell. He defeats babidi and but is unable to protect supreme kai from getting killed...in turn ending beerus. Trunks story is tragic and it doesn't stop. And it only gets worse when goku black shows up. The guy whom was earths savior now the enemy. And puts earth back in destruction. After everything that happens, it ends in failure. Which is why he needs a restart. His world was doomed all along. And trunks has to live with all thoae failures and inability to protect his world.

Never join their Patreon - These people take vacations 50% of the time. They are charging money but have zero understanding that you provide a service for what people pay. Doesn't matter the amount, should be consistent and even if you take breaks just have more uploads to make it up. Never seen a more incompetent couple. They think they are celebrities but if youtube was not there, they would probably sell insurance for a living and would be bad at it too. Unprofessional and just a bad example to anyone providing a service or selling a product. Social media allows anyone without talent to get some bucks. At least be professional and deliver.

Merged Zamasu is toying with them because all fusions are arrogant. It's funny since Zamasu fused with Black so they could stop toying with them. In Z, Elder Kai is guessing when KabitoKai asks why Goku and Vegeta defused inside of Buu, so the one hour time limit isn't contradicted in Z. You can even argue the barrier Vegito made inside of Buu depleted the rest of his fusion time, which is why he defuses as soon as he lets go of the barrier.
One mistake I think episode 65 made, at the end with the Kamehameha clash against Merged Zamasu, Goku should have went Kaioken to overpower Zamasu. He uses Kaioken a few seconds later, so it just felt like a weird thing to keep out of the Kamehameha beam clash and it would have made it more believable if he overpowered it with Kaioken.
Power scaling issues aside with Future Trunks, I do love that they gave him the win. The story in this arc is imo as strong as it is because they kind of take a step back from the power scaling and go "what would fit more with the themes of this arc". This is the Future Trunks arc, he should have a vital role in the arc. In the FT arc manga he spends most of teh arc knocked out.

Future trunks is the best character in the dragon ball super franchise!!! I mean I like Vegeta and Goku and especially Vegito but something about trunks character that takes the cake!!!

Vegito is so cocky because he is truly powerful. He is not Goku + Vegeta, he is Goku x Vegeta. Their fusion is even more perfect because they are rivals and opposite's.
