    I just picked up my first Sony last week and I've been using a lens converter for all my Canon glass. This will for sure be the first native lens I pickup for my wedding work. Then the 24mm GM. Loving my A7RIII! I got the most ROI out of my Canon equipment before switching and I got $500 off the A7RIII!

    Illustrations are the key. I’m sold! To sell a lens to a stranger is not just blah blah blah, show him/her it’s photos. Two more things:
    - speak slowly so the English As Second Language (ESL) people have enough time to absorb what you mean,
    - have some notes imprinted on your illustrations.
    Among all the RUclipsr expert shows, I admire yours the most. Keep up the good work!

    With the new A9 firmware we don’t need the extra button press for eye-AF. Can’t wait for that. I wish I knew when in March this FM will drop. I hope the 135 Batis prices drop with this new release. I have the 85mm GM and would love the same feel with the 135mm, but I also love my 18mm Batis. Very torn right now.

    The lens hood should have been much more rugged. I wish for 1.4x and 2x teleconverters for this lens !
    My primary set of lenses is now Sony 24mm 1.4 GM, Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8 and Sony 135mm 1.8 GM, exellennt set of lenses, highly recommended ! Although I will like to see a better new version of the 55mm, a 60mm allround macro lens will be very nice !

    I shoot Canon, but from the samples. it's fair to share that at almost $1900, it seems too close to Sony, Canon or Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 lenses, which all offer exceptional quality with greater versatility. 135mm is a fun focal length, but mine was the least used lens so I sold it. But the Canon was pleasurably light. I think the Sigma 135mm may earn a reason not to spend the wad on this G Master 135mm

    Sony needs to make more budget lenses like the 85mm 1.8 Not everyone has the money to buy these expensive G Master lenses. I won't be buying the lens strictly due to its price. I can always buy the sigma version for less. not to mention the canon version which is even more budget friendly

    • @MiguelQuilesJr
      @MiguelQuilesJr  5 лет назад +1

      It's $369 difference new and I can tell you having used both extensively the GM kills the Zeiss. I imagine that the Batis may drop another $200 or so at some point but I still wouldn't pick it over the GM. Just my 2 cents 😁

    • @pablovi77
      @pablovi77 5 лет назад

      Miguel Quiles If it kills the Zeiss by that much, Zeiss will have to drop the price. Which is gonna make it more competitive. I’d rather spend less, and the Zeiss is good enough for me. If I had the money, I might buy the Sony, but the GM are out of my budget.
      Thanks for the review and comments!

    I sort of miss that discussion about when that f1.8 at 135mm would fit an expression, and not. Sure, you work with Sony, and this is showing it of at f1.8, but even Steve Huff missed focus with this one. After all, you do some shots for which f1.8 makes sense, done correctly. Yet I actually prefer to get both eyes of the bride somewhat sharp, and I am no fan of flat field of view on the eyes for that kind of portraits. A technique you use, but do not comment. Pros are all aware of this? No. Just take a look at the shots of yourself in front of the camera, in which his shirt and ears are in focus, but not your face. I watch this from about 1m using a 65" 2160p screen, and focus issues and DoF is an issue, not that much in your shots, but in your video filming. Sony is in the forefront in this field, so I would like for those who know how to combat it, like you in your still shots, could please speak some more about it.

  • @Madoxyama

  • @alexanderivanoff

    Looking at all the "sample" images that I've seen from this lens today, it makes me love even more the Canon 135/2. Not sure why Sony is struggling such a big time to drop a really nice, mature and super pleasingly drawing lenses considering the fact they have Minolta's expertise. Muddy colors are another story. Wait for Canon RF135 to see the new benchmark. Good camera bodies from Sony, poor shooting experience, zero fun factor and huge struggle with lenses character and art.
    Bar the above, Miguel as always managed to deliver the best content from all the "artisans" - well done, bro.
