We live in a small one bedroom apartment. My crafting space is the couch. I purchased a small bulletin board and I put that on my lap and craft on that. All my crafting materials are in plastic drawers in from Walmart in the corner of the living room. You work with what you have to.
Thank you for showing budget friendly ideas in a small space. So many videos on YT are large, very elaborate spaces. I have a small area with not much wall space. I also love that you have carpet in your space.
If only my craft room looked as good as your BEFORE!!! PIC!! I'M OVERWHELMED!. I've tried & tried to organize it, I'll go at it hard for a few hours, get tired & give up, never getting back to it. I really want to do my crafts. I'm a 65 yr old with disabilities & other medical issues. I tried going slow for longer hours, same problem. Due to my health I have limited energy so it makes it hard to organize for long. Everything I buy new I organize, just can't seem to get to the older stuff. I just found you today, and I love your energy., so I subscribed. Think one day soon when it's not too hot ( most of my mess is in the garage, whew! Too hot!. But I do have a mess on my table with organizers right next to it! You got me pumped up! I have to cook dinner soon, but once it's cooked I'll have a couple of hours to work on my plan. Boy , will my brother be surprised! Thanks,💝 Your new friend from Idaho!
I really like that you put the same color of every writing utensil together (instead of for example: only blue markers together then a separate container for blue pencils). I honestly never thought to do that and my space is so cluttered with multiple places for all my different 'red's 😮😮😮😮😮 Thank you for showing your space and giving others great ideas ❤❤❤❤❤
My two Dobermans, Elsie and Jasper! They must both be where I am at all times and believe me I know how easy it is for my art studio to get completely out of control. I feel like I have two needy kids following me around again. I’m 61 years old and the last two years raising two more dog children have been a bit overwhelming. Also has been the best experience! 🙌🏻❤️
I usually craft at our kitchen table. I've also taught classes and made displays at a local museum. We live in a 2BR apartment. I get supplies at thrift stores and rummage sales. I use under the bed and clear containers. Tina, Al's wife
I was in the process of doing the 3rd bedroom as a craft/studio. But then, it needed to be a nursery. So, everything is dumped in my bedroom. I had stuff in crates...hard to find. Now each month I get a couple of those plastic drawers. I can't wait to move into our new house. I get a craft/office room!🥳
I am so glad I found this video!! Thank you for all the tips!! I just moved into a house where I have my own craft room, and the drying rack idea is awesome. My dollar tree never has the pegboard and accessories, so I will be doing that soon!!! Your fur baby is adorable! I have a wonderful apple-head Chihuahua named Gizzy. He is so precious to me! 💚🖤💚🖤
I recently re-created my craft room and your video popped up on my suggestions screen. We do different crafts from a different approach, though we both have grown-and-gone children. You did a great job sharing concepts and ideas without telling anyone what they “must” do in their own creative space. Strong work and thank you for sharing. Take care and happy creating.
I love the suggestions you offer in this video. I do my crafting in a bedroom that doubles as a guest room when we have visitors. Since the pandemic we haven’t had overnight guests, but my craft room is soooo cluttered! I’m thinking of removing the twin bed so I have more space and using an inflatable mattress for guests. I feel inspired by your video to get organized. Thank you!
My husband built me a small room as we finish our small basement. I recently reorganized, cleaned and purged it. I actually cut down an old door that was given to us. And used it as my work surface atip two file cabinets from marketplace that I painted white. It has been wonderful.
That is SO sweet! I love the idea that your craft table was your mother's dining table 🥰🤗❤ How incredibly inspiring❣️ 🥰🤗 Thank you for sharing all of your great ideas. Your little mischief maker is adorable 😋❤
Dear Shannon Thank u so much. Loved the pic on the wall and the kitchen rack storage unit. I also hv a space in my bed room for card making and other crafts. I also sleep and work in my bed room the craft space is slowly overtaking the other areas. I live in Sri Lanka the tiny island nation below India. Organisation is very expensive and I cannot afford it. But I also look always to buy cheap organisation. I made a craft cart using cardboard boxes kitchen tube rolls pattern paper and four wheels. It houses my inks and embossing stuff. I am very happy with it. My card bases and papers are also held in a DIY storage unit . My embellishments are in 12 tins which I bought for 2 dollars. My stamps are in one basket but categorised according to theme. My dies are in a file folder and needs to be organised in a binder. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to your videos. Tc stay safe and blessed
I have a sewing / office room. It has gotten out of hand, for many reasons. This summer has been Mission to get it organized to a level I enjoy being I there. I was stressing every time I walked in there. Things are working much better now. Your ideas have been helpful
Really like your ideas. Our house is small, I have a bedroom for my craft room and it is a disaster! I need to take your advice and start with an hour at a time.
I love this! I just got a She-Shed and it is almost finished and I was looking for cool storage ideas for my crafts. I love what you did! Can't wait for the baseboard and mini-split air conditioner and then I'm ready to start putting my supplies in! Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for sharing this organization ideas it really inspired me to organize my craft room and to keep it organized, love your diy’s and organization hacks.
I'm a huge thrifted and leave the tags on too...the steals make me smile🤗 Love your whole process of organizing, motivating me as I do the same right now🥰❤🙏🏾
Just found your videos. you are awesome. I would love to see you make over those rolling carts. I have purchased 3 of them but am having a hard time finding storage things to put inside the cart so that i can organize things instead of just leaving them lay in there. I have a Cricut and lots of cardstock, i have paints and stains and art supplies i want to put into my carts as well. I do some woodworking so i have a small drill, a small set of drill bits, exacto knives utilities knives to cut the Dollar tree wood things to make projects and i want to keep it all organized in the carts as well. I also have stamping supplies and a Big shot with dies, and embossing folders which i store in some of those lattice pink and grey and blue book like things you can get at the dollar tree etc. Hope you can help me out in using dollar tree items because i am a frugal and thrift shopper as well . I have lots of different hobbies in my one room that is my craft, sewing, dollar tree storing, art supplies, cricut machines, tv, and a recliner in my room as well because i have to sleep sitting up due to acid reflux, I also have a huge flower and leaves etc stash in my room. I have those cubby things where you put the cloth boxes you can get at the DT and lots of stuff is in them from dt.. they are some what organized. I have all the flowers and things in baskets on top of the cubby holders but i need a better way to store them because they are out in the open and can get dust on them.. Anyways I really am interested in how you do your rolling carts and how to use dt organizers in them so things stay a little neater. I am going to go watch more of your videos I love what i have seen so far. Sorry for such a long comment i do store my cardstock in some plastic organizers i got from Goodwill the ones with the clear drawers so its pretty organized.
You go, Denise! Sounds like you are well on your way to an organized space. We downsized quite a bit so I now own much fewer crafting supplies and I am still learning to donate and share things I’m not using. Crafting brings so much joy! Glad we found each other.
Such good ideas!! What if you put a little blanket or dog bed with fav dog toys for your puppy? Maybe she wouldn't chew things as much? Such a happy room!!
These are some great ideas for organizing my craft room. It is small so I think the wire thing will be good in there. Bless you for sharing them with us!
Great job from before to after. It gives you peace when things are organized. Looks amazing. I’m working on getting organized as well and thank you for your great ideas. New subscriber here as well. Also, shout out to your adorable dogs. I have 3 dogs, Lily and Daisy are sisters, they are 3 years old and Freedom is 5 years old.
Absolutely loved all your ideas. I have a small room also and I’m always looking for ways to organize it. Hopefully I can do some of these things. Thanks so much sweetie for sharing with us. Shelley
Hi Shannon! I’m getting ready to set up a craft room for myself. You gave me so many great ideas!!! I’m so happy i came across your channel. New subscriber here ✌🏼
Our 14 year old cat passed in October and I'm still an absolute mess. So is my daughter who is only 6 years older. My sun is only 4 years older than she was. She was truly a part of our family as much as my kids are. I knew it would wreck my daughter when she passed but I ended up taking it hardest. I miss her so much. Her name was also Bella. And right after she died I saw a video on here saying one way you'll know they are still around is you'll see or hear their name everywhere and I'm not kidding it's actually spooky how much we now see and hear her name. I know it's a common name but it's actually crazy how much we heard it after she died. And my biggest issue was not knowing if I would ever see her again or if she'd really be in heaven. I also found a video on here that proved she would be by a excerpt from the holy bible. I couldn't sleep the night she passed until after I saw that video. I swore on my mother's soul I would never have another pet again bc I can't handle any more loss in my life. In the last five years I have lost everything and everyone. My mom died suddenly and unexpectedly at 59 two years ago to lung liver and bone cancer. She died 11 days after she/we found out she even had cancer And my mom is the one that we got Bella from as a kitten and go figure two years after that my Bella Also died of cancer. 😢 I thinki actually took it harder initially than I did my own mom Andi was a complete wreck when my mom died.. But she has been in pain for so long Andi knew it was an end to her pain. I experience the same health problems and same chronic issues she had pain from so I too know as well the hell it can be. But Bella was like kissing my youngest child. She was always with me.. Would sit and hold hands with my kids or me for hours and slept between my daughter Andi every night for five years after I left my kids abusive cheating father after 19 years. She truly was an everyday huge part of my life. I don't take anything or anyone for granted now
Jennifer you sound like an incredibly brave person! I know animals will run to meet us in heaven and take a lot of comfort in that. Thanks for watching!
I have my dad’s old workshop bench that he used to use in the winter and the only bad thing is that the walls are concrete so I’ve been trying to find a way to organize
I love your wire organizing set up. I have nearly everything used already in my stash. Can't wait to give it a try. P.s. Please say high to my 2 year old Frenchie, Auggie. 😊
Don’t let your ‘Minnie Pearl’ show! Oh no!😱😂 Do pull the ugly inner sticker off next to the light bulb though! You like to see your supplies like I do!! I have my own bedroom that is mostly a craft room and I am in Heaven. Always looking for new ways to organize. New subbie.😊✨
I just recently moved my craft room/office into a bigger room. I have uploaded a video showing the before and the progress. I will be doing a video showing the final reveal soon. I have 4 fur babies: China, Rose, Koda, and Emma!
I totally forgot about monkey hooks, thank you. I wonder if they will work on cabin wood plank type walls. It's a tiny house cabin not logs. I'm a renter so I tried to use small eye hooks in between The ridges so it's not noticeable. If anyone knows the answer thank you in advance. In the meantime I will be making this awesome wire rack! ty* this would also work on a bathroom wall or side of the sink in that empty nowhere man's space between the counter and shower
@@shannonskiptomylife I asked about it at the hardware store.. I felt kind of silly because I was actually thinking of insulation instead of what drywall is.. this is wood so she said that I could not. She suggested buying those screw in hooks, the small gold ones they actually hold quite a bit if you double or triple them up just add more.
Old English, while once held in high esteem - is really a Dust magnet that will ruin ALL finishes. FYI to protect your furniture....only use Guardsman. You'll thank me later.
If you ever need to destash please keep me in mind I lost all my crafting supplies and I lost my leg it was amputated last month due to an accident. I am also going through a divorce after 29 years together and he cheated with my best friend and she got pregnant so I need something to get my mind off everything until I get my prosthetic

Becky I think you are brilliant!
I love that it's not Ikea. That your suggestions are affordable. It's functional and beautiful all on a budget.
Thanks so much MW!!
I agree. Sometimes, we just have to be inventive and frugal.
My fur baby is a very sweet big orange tabby who has literally taken over part of my floor space!!! She just loves watching me too!!!
So sweet modgirl!
I have a couple of things I will try in my sewing room disaster now.

@@shannonskiptomylife I have a kallax unit on the opposite wall and 2 rolling tiered carts.
I did that when I was in the basement, too, except I didn’t cut the door down. Used that entire thing 😂🤩 It was a huge fabulous work area.

Monkey hooks usually work if the drywall is thin enough to poke through. If you give it a try let us know!
