“Hank The Yodeling Ranger” a legend who sold over 80 million albums & countless awards. He couldn’t stand Tom Parker refusing to call him Colonel. He gave Elvis his start opening up for him in1954 at the Grand Ole Opry. Thankyou kindly JTL for another great tour
Gavan...I don't think Hank Snow" gave Elvis his start" ..Sam Phillips ..Sun Records used his contacts to get this booking...Elvis , Scotty and Bill thought this would be a big as it would ever get"...lol...They didnt do well with Old Country audience...they did do the "Ernest Tubb' show after the opry also
It's fantastic that they contacted you about staying there. Your reputation precedes you. It's nice the way they preserved his legacy. Such respect we don't usually see in Hollywood for sure. Or at least we didn't. Our history is important. You show respect and you admire the subjects that you choose to vlog which is very important. And that's why people love you so much. Thank you as always for a very interesting and enjoyable vlog.
What a cozy home! I’m so glad that it stayed with family that cares to restore it all. And the fact they opened it to public to stay is just amazing! Loved it!
Love every thing in this vlog. Of all the country singers and the westerns I used to watch and loved growing up, don’t know why I never knew about Hank Snow. Thank you for sharing about him and telling his story. So cool you got to stay in his house. What a special person he was. I’m sure his wife was a great cook. So cool that on a day she wasn’t feeling well, Marty Robbins played and sang to her. So glad the property stayed in the family. I still love western and country styles. Thank you for all you do, Jordan and all the hard work you put in for us. All the great places you go, are the only way I get to see and learn about them in my life. You are very blessed. You are the best. Been enjoying the vlogs from Memphis. Elvis was from north Mississippi and I was born and raised in south Mississippi. Elvis spent time on Mississippi Coast before he made it big time. Love everything Elvis. Keep being awesome. God bless you and Jah
Loving all the Elvis content lately! As a born and raised Memphis/ North Mississippi girl I love seeing just how many people still love Elvis. He was, is and will always be the King!
Hank Snow was a very close friend of my mother and grandmother. My mother was from Alberta Canada and started his fan club up there many many many years ago she was also a performer on the Calgary Stampede. Hank and my mom perform together oh, Hank had my mom and grandmother moved from Canada to Nashville where I was born. Package to call my grandmother used to call her mother. I remember Hank coming over to our house many times drinking a little vodka and oj and hanging around singing or talking to my mom and my grandma. I remember going to Hank's House several times he usually came to our house. Thank you for this video. My mom is 85 years old now I mean 86. This brought tears to her eyes all the memories
Hank did discover Elvis and this was a huge legal contention between he and Tom Parker. Sorry for the typos in my last message I am doing talk-to-text. Hank used to call my grandmother his mother
Country Music History.... Hank Snow!! You know anyone who was anyone in the day hung out at Hank's... such a cool view into the past! I'm moving on, keep rolling on, your gonna ease my mind, I'm moving on...
This reminds me of my childhood. it's like a boy's dream home. My friend had brothers, and this is how the decor was, knotty pine and cowboys. Love it. The history of Hank Snow's house is wonderful This is like a time capsule.
Jordan, I know I say this all the time, but YOU ARE SO GOOD at what you DO! I love the way you are so natural and it shows so much when you are taking us someplace like this great place today. I am shocked that they let people stay in that residence with all of the memorabilia laying around! The interior is amazing and truly it would be a great experience for anyone of Hank's followers to be allowed to stay there. I LOVE THE ELVIS PHOTOS there, too! Thank you again for your great story telling ability!
Porter is from West Plains Mo. he used to play on street corners around the small towns in S. Mo . He had asked my Mom out on a date once and she turned him down. Said he would never amount to anything singing on a street corner lol
Jordan - Awesome video. So much history. I'm so glad they reached out to you to help make this happen. So very special. Thank you so much for sharing this. Please stay safe and healthy. Have a wonderful day. Blessings - Judith 🎵🎭
Great tour. That was another person in history I had idea played a huge roll in music. I loved how the house was almost frozen in time, and how so many influential musicians were a part of that history. You do a wonderful job in honoring these people and documenting their lives for all time. They will never be forgotten.
loving all this country music blogs what an awesome house for those that dont know dolly wrote i will always love you for porter Wagner when she parted company from him thanks again for a great blog keep em coming
Great video. I performed with Hank back around 1973. We opened the show for him at The Blue Ribbon Inn in Hillside NJ.. I also was on Hanks original tour Bus with him. I believe it was a "Flexible Flyer"?
i bet the image of the ship on the speaker he made was a nod to his nova scotia home :) there's a 'hank snow hometown museum' in liverpool, nova scotia.
Great Vlog Jordan. I appreciate the respect you show the old time Country and Rock stars. Relics of times long gone. Thank You again for this trip down memory lane.
I love this period in Country Music. Hank Snow was a huge star. I have Moving On on my play list of Country songs. That is so cool that you can stay in his house and walk the grounds. A lot of history there for sure. Great as always Jordan! Thanks!
Definitely Hank’s own “Graceland”. I think that it is pretty cool that many famous people would have a place to come home to, living in the same place for many years.
Hi Jordan, what lovely old photos and paintings in Hank's house. Nice to see so many of Hank's original items and the Dracula's Hatch was great aswell. Lovely to hear that he loved and had a great respect for animals. Great vlog Jordan.
I grew up on Hank Snow's music - my dad and his family would play at get-togethers and, then it was my brother and I who would accompany my dad. I have no words for what his music means to me. But, I'm glad his studio and home are being well taken care of. Thanks for posting this!
I really appreciate your vidio work taking your time and really showing the details. And its great how much you appreciate our American culture. Awesome vlog 👍🏻😎
My grandmother passed away several years ago... if she were around today she'd be 104.... she always claimed Hank Snow as her favorite country singer... and even said on several occasions that he was "dreamy" 🤣🤣 Great vlog man... great vlog!!!!
Love it!! Especially comparing the photos from the past to today!! Really takes us back to the moment. You could almost feel his presence there! This is so on my bucket list!! Your videos and information is the perfect video tour guide for us all!! Thanks Jordan!!! Love the dracula hatch!! How cool to see it!
I'm a life long Hank Snow fan and Hank visited Liverpool, my home town in UK. He gave a show at the Liverpool Empire Theatre (early 70's) and l bought tickets for my whole family, it was a great night out and a treat to witness Hank and the Rainbow Ranch boys, with Chubby Wise and the rest, performing and replicating their studio sound of great playing and singing.
I'm 76, when I was a child in grade school.I would wake. Up to Hank Snow singing to I'm moving on.And yodeling.I love those memories.Thank for sharing. My Mother and brother could sing and yodeling. 🎹🎶🎼🎵
jordan. you have filled in the perfect picture to top off my life im 76 yo and have loved hank from the age of sixteen. hanks record of tales from the yukon made me cry with the harsh reality of his storytelling golden voice he was almos an walter brennan god bless you and may your future prosperous hallajulia brother.
Incredible I knew the lady that was Hank and Minnies housekeeper during the last years of his life When Hank passed the Opry gave him a huge send off The Tennessean newspaper even had a huge front page photo of Hank in his casket surrounded by huge floral arrangements( I thought that was kind of tacky but I guess it was so readers could get feel the experience) I'm glad the place was preserved and people can enjoy it Didn't know about the Elvis-Hank connection Thanks for this Jordan I need to tell my dad about your channel because he loves old school country and rock and roll😄💝🎆👍
I love the country fixture and fittings, especially all the beautiful rich woodwork. Thanks Jordan for bringing this to my attention as I'd never heard of it before, it's so great that you are now a part of the history of keeping Hank Snows memory alive along with all the other valuable Vlogs you have created of time.
That was really neat ! Dripping with history. You are the king of vlogs. Humor and details all rolled up in one. Would be so fun to go there. So happy it was preserved. Love the phones. Kids now don't even know what they are 😂
I *knew* you’d be headed to Nashville as soon as I saw your Camden vid! Here’s a hearty welcome to town from a Nashville native. I *so* love that you’re into classic country and that you visit these low-key cool locations. You’ve made my morning, man.
Thanks Jordan. I have been to the Hank Snow Museum in Liverpool Nova Scotia. They have 2 of his Cadillacs there, some guitars, his fancy suits, many great photos and even his toupee. He was born just outside the town in a small community called Brooklyn.
Great video! I've just got to say, when you were speaking of Porter Waggoner & Dolly; Porter was born in West Plains, MO just about an hour from where I live. I will have to investigate & see if there is any type of museum or birthplace tour for Porter. Also, you're too young to remember Jordan, but Porter had a weekly TV program way back in the 60s & 70s & a very young Dolly would guest very frequently. I'll have to see if there is any way to track down those old shows! Again, great video as always!! Thanks for taking us along!!
Love this very much. Hank was one of my favorites. Got to meet him a few times late 80s n early 90s as a kid. He was a very nice guy. And played awesome guitar.
Thanks Jordan, Hank Snow was the best thing Canada ever gave to the USA. I'm 79 and remember hanks music as it was climbing the charts to the top in some cases.
All that knotty pine on the walls is just amazing. My home is about two miles from Hank's Rainbow Ranch and when we moved in here (in 1980) the only knotty pine in our house (some may have been removed, I'm not sure) was in the dining room. It was so dark looking that we painted over it. You can still tell it's knotty pine because those knots continue to bleed through no matter how many times it is painted over. I drive by Hank's home (and the home of the late Kitty Wells which is very close to Hank's home) quite often as I am headed to the grocery store. I have never been inside either home and I very much enjoyed this peak into the home of Hank Snow. I had no idea that home had been turned into a B & B. A story you may not have heard: Hank's son, Jimmy Snow was married to Carol Lee Cooper who was the daughter of Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper, long time performers on the Grand Ole Opry. Carol Lee was a backup singer on the Opry and she and one other woman and two men comprised a group they called "The Carol Lee Singers" and they would sing backup with any Opry star who did not have his or her own backup singers and wanted them to sing. They seemed to know the words to practically every country song and their vocals were amazing. Being the daughter of Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper and singing backup on so many songs and being married to the son of Hank Snow made Carol Lee a very beloved part of the Grand Ole Opry. Jimmy pastored a church called "The Evangel Temple" and Carol Lee played the organ and probably provided special music from time to time but I'm not sure about that last statement. I am speculating that she provided special music but I can't imagine that with her talent she would NOT do so occasionally. I was not there and cannot swear that this is true but I know it was widely talked about by members of the Opry who seemed to accept that it was true. One Sunday while Carol Lee sat at the organ waiting to play more music, Jimmy announced that "God had told him to leave Carol Lee and marry another woman." The country music community was NOT happy with Jimmy. They loved Hank but they also loved Wilma Lee and Stoney and of course they loved Carol Lee and they thought (rightfully so) that this was a terrible way for Carol Lee to discover that her husband was divorcing her. And seriously, I doubt that God had much to do with Jimmy's decision to dump his wife for another woman. The country music stars who used to attend The Evangel Temple any time they were in Nashville, dropped that church (and Jimmy) like a hot potato. It wasn't long after that when I was driving by The Evangel Temple that I noticed it was no longer a church and then shortly thereafter I was by there again and I believe a used furniture store was occupying that space. I would love to see the inside of Kitty Wells' home and the home of Minnie Pearl. I was diagnosed with breast cancer about 7 years ago and the Chemo and Radiation Therapy I received was at a Sarah Cannon (Minnie's real name) Cancer Center at Skyline Medical Center. I think there are more cancer centers founded by Minnie Pearl in the Nashville area but I'm not sure which medical centers they are connected with. I would love to be able to see inside her home and I don't know where it is located so I don't even know what the outside looks like. It would be a real treat for me to be able to see inside the homes of these two legends of the Grand Ole Opry. I would love to know who did the painting of Minnie Pearl and the one on the easel. Was Hank a painter? Also, I must say that this was a GREAT tour. I have lived in Nashville since 1965 (I'm older than dirt) and I have been in and around Opry stars for most of that time but I learned a lot watching you. Well done! BTW, that sticker of Gilleys? That is pronounced like a fish gill, not like a jail. Mickey Gilley, Rev. Jimmy Swaggart and Jerry Lee Lewis were first cousins who were raised together by their grandmother who taught them all how to play the piano and if you see Mickey or Jimmy playing they have some of the same style as The Killer. Fun Fact: Porter Wagoner and his wife divorced and Porter moved out but tour buses continued to go by the home which was now owned by his ex who was less than thrilled by all those tourists piling out of their buses and taking pictures of a home where Porter no longer lived and they probably had questions they wanted to ask about him. The ex-wife stood it as long as she could stand it and then she had a big sign erected in her front yard that said, "Porter Wagoner does not live here any more!"
Dude, I swear I get so jealous of your vlogs! That was unreal! I'd stay there in a heartbeat! Again, Jordan...great job! You just keep stacking great vlogs!
Your vlog completely made my day. Thank you for being you. I was having a crappy day at work and on my now dinner break I saw that you released a vlog and watching you here at work gave me hope. Don't ever change the way you vlog. It's like my little escape in this otherwise bleak day. Thank you.
Excellent job on this video I loved it it was great to see how an old place like this still can take you back in time it would’ve been a shame for someone to have bought this place and tore it down just to rebuild on a piece of land that meant nothing to them great job Hope to go there and see it for myself one day
I love country music from that time. When a song was really a song. When I was a teenager growing up, I was helping my mother clean up a few trunks that she had. I was looking through a giant envelope and inside were personal letters and pictures of Conway Twitty. I asked my mom what all of it meant. She turns to me and said, "I might have went out with him a couple of times". Or rather he chased me for awhile. She said, "I told him that I could not date him because I was in love with your father." I said, "You mean Conway Twitty could have been my dad?" But seriously, that meant that I had one really hot mom and gained more respect for her for choosing love. My parents have been married for 66 years this August.
Such a treat to be able to take a tour of this home! My dad introduced me to the music of Hank Snow as a child. Turns out he and dad have a similar love of knotty pine and wagon wheel light fixtures lol. Thanks again for bringing us along on this adventure!
Jordon at 22:19... those posters are all made by Hatch Show Prints, still in business downtown Nashville and they have tours everyday. It’s in the same building as the Country music Hall of fame... the posters they have are INCREDIBLE. ...and you can still buy most of those posters. It’s a gem of a place.
In the late 70’s my parents took us on a tour of famous houses in and around Nashville and I remember going by this house. It quite unbelievable it is not a museum.
My hero Rory Gallagher included a version of "I'm Movin On" on his first album with his group Taste back in '69, which shows Snows influence even on a blues rocker in Ireland.
I was born in 1949 with my Dad being country and me being rock n roll (Elvis fan) so I love it ALL! I still prefer the classic country to the new stuff! Thanks Jordan for this stroll through the past!! I love the way you match up pictures! It was Gilley's in Pasadena, Tx.
my dad was friends with him. he used to play and call square dances for the hayride ( he is 84 now) when I was 3 he was in town visiting my parents. he says hello...and I cried and balled lol!! evedently he took it with a little humor I wish I would of had a chance to meet him before his passing. r.i.p mr. Snow...oh sorry about the crying for when you were with my parents lol!!
Thank you for taking me places I can’t go right now bc of Covid I appreciate you I ran into your RUclips channel 3weeks ago and I’m thankful I did thanks 😊 ❤️
I don't know to much about Hank Snow but I would still love to visit his home. Ah man would love to have a go on that piano that Elvis played on especially with it being from so many years ago. Sooo cool. Your one lucky guy Jordan. Great video by the way. Your hard work is appreciated by all.👍😎
What a awesome tour of Hank Snows home. I have heard of Hank Snow because as I was growing up my parents lessoned to country music. Thank you for showing us and telling all the history of Hank.
Nice job & interesting to us Hank Snow fans. I grew up on his music, thanks to my Dad & brother who were country music buffs. I was honored to have seen Hank & Ernest Tubb on the same show back in the late 70's. Thanks for this great vid, Jorden! BTW, do you know where his Martin guitar ended up, in a museum or? Thanks!
Jordan, you are the coolest guy in the universe. I'll tell you a funny story about Hanks toupe that you saw. This is absolutely true, as it's been well documented down through the years. Hanks fiddle player Chubby Wise, took an instrumental break on stage one night, and his fiddle bow got a bit too close to Hanks head. The bow actually caught the toupe, and snatched it off. There it was flailing away on the end of the bow, before it sailed into the audience. Hank turned to Chubby and said "You're fired" . So Hank got embarrassed, Chubby got fired for the night, and somebody in the audience caught Hank Snow's hair. Only in country music !

Yes he was known as Hank The Yodeling Ranger for close to ten years but he changed it to The Singing Ranger as yodeling was "too country".

Randy Travis in my mind, has the most unique and beautiful sounding voice I’ve ever heard in country music.
He is a phenomenal talent.

Wow, gorgeous weather
My Dad listened to Hank alot when I was a little girl. I loved listening to Hank with my Daddy.
Thank you.
Hello dear, how are you doing, how is the weather?
Hi there, how are you doing, how is the weather treating you?
This is one of your best vlogs. I loved it.
It’s so great to hear you commenting on the place where your at , it makes you feel like you’ve just got to go there !!!
Excellent job on this video I loved it it was great to see how an old place like this still can take you back in time it would’ve been a shame for someone to have bought this place and tore it down just to rebuild on a piece of land that meant nothing to them great job Hope to go there and see it for myself one day
It’s Gill-ees. Loving the Elvis vlogs lately!
Wow! Awesome story
Cool vlog Jordan! I like seeing how some of the stuff in the house are the original things.
Wow. Awesome. That has got to be the coolest Air BnB ever!!!
In the late 70’s my parents took us on a tour of famous houses in and around Nashville and I remember going by this house. It quite unbelievable it is not a museum.
"That's not an Elvis original, I wrote that". Love it. Great Vlog Jordan. x
My hero Rory Gallagher included a version of "I'm Movin On" on his first album with his group Taste back in '69, which shows Snows influence even on a blues rocker in Ireland.
Rory Gallagher! His name needs to be more known One of the greats😃👍
I never knew about Hank Snow until this vlog (not a country fan), but huge Rory fan for many years...icon!
I absolutely love the vlog Jordan great job

I don't know to much about Hank Snow but I would still love to visit his home. Ah man would love to have a go on that piano that Elvis played on especially with it being from so many years ago. Sooo cool. Your one lucky guy Jordan. Great video by the way. Your hard work is appreciated by all.👍😎
What a awesome tour of Hank Snows home. I have heard of Hank Snow because as I was growing up my parents lessoned to country music. Thank you for showing us and telling all the history of Hank.
Fantastic vlog !! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks!
Hi Jordan you keep finding these places so cool to see ! I don’t need to travel I have you !! Great job great place !
Only in country music !
funny as hell 😂
@@michaelreidmassey4131 Absolutely. There are a lot of funny Hank Snow stories, but that one is just about the best 😂
