I did this trek in 1976. Glad I found this. Great memories. Except we started walking in Pokkera. They have improved the bridges also. There were no suppression bridges. We crossed the creeks on log bridges. Haha there was no pizza. Just rice and dal. After watching this I see they have made it much more easy and with many tourist amenities. The mountains have not changed still awesome. I also never experienced the stars at that altitude. You could touch them. Chicken fried rice! Holy crap all we had was rice and dal. We also stayed in tents. I remember camping in the Hinko cave. I think that was the name. Our trek was in October. Did not see all the snow till close to the base camp. Haha there were no guest houses for tea. Did I mention we had rice and dal? The 360 view was spectacular! Thank you for the memories. We didn’t even have a decent camera.
I also trekked the Annapurna region in the early 80s. No teahouses we slept in tents. No pizza. We ate dal and rice cooked by our porters sitting on bare ground. No steel suspension bridges. Old unstable wooden bridges. No man-made easy steps. Just animal trails. Todays trekk is a walk in the park compared to almost 40 years ago.
This video is so incredibly well done. Thank you. The pacing, soundtrack, and narration work together perfectly to accentuate the silent grandeur of the mountains. In so many other cases, people seem to have felt compelled to inject obnoxious music, motor-mouthed commentary, and overdone video effects. None of that is necessary. Annapurna speaks for itself in silence, and you captured that. Namaste.
In 2000 I with my three friends , from Kolkata , India went to Annapurna Base Camp . The beauties we gathered are the storage in memory for ever . Beautiful . Thanks , many many thanks , to you for providing the trek vdo to remember our trip .
your videos made me realize again that i should really visit Nepal in the near future and explore this majestic scenery of yours. Much love, filipino from u.a.e
