    Finally someone does this in a proper way: you don't need to cut all the way up to the brass piece!
    If you do it you will lose the spourting indication that yhe mag is full.

    Okay you got 3x more gas but what about mag temp when you start using it? Does it effect efficiency?

  • @FlightAce100
    @FlightAce100 Год назад +3

    I like it. I wonder though why they didn't just design them like this from the factory? Why did they make the stem go 2/3rds the way down to begin with? Seems like it would have been any easy way to gain an advantage over their opposition.

    • @Bastyxx227
      @Bastyxx227 11 месяцев назад +2

      Prolly because some rule in Japan, or maybe because they dont use green gas but "duster gas" which has less pressure, so the design makes sense with duster gas in mind
      Remember Tokyo Marui is based in Japan, and most Japanese companies don't give a crap about international market, they sell to us but don't consider us when making design decisions

      It's probably so if your gun isn't upright that you would have liquid gas coming out when you are shooting it which could cool your hop rubber down.
      I've seen them modified by cutting the tube in half which still allows the gun to be used at a fair angle without it blasting gas.
      I've not done mine yet but be interesting to hear if people are getting this issue when the mag is full of gas.

    Has anyone chrono'd their gun before and after this mod? Surely adding that much more liquid gas means that as it expands into a gas the pressure in the mag increases, especially on a warm day, and therefore your gun could be running hot.

    • @Jaeger-Precision
      @Jaeger-Precision  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thats not how it works. The gas still expands at the same pressure. You are just filling it with more liquid.

    • @jpisback
      @jpisback 2 месяца назад

      It's a common thing with the TM Stanags. Something to do with gg cans pushing more gas out than the fill valve is designed for, so the extra gas is forced outwards. an oring can help cut down on this.

    I have done the mod successfully with all mags apart from 1 where the stem broke off and I'd now stuck in the housing, therefore when filling mags the gas is not penetrative properly.
    Is there anywhere I can purchase the valve and outer bit, basically the entire part that comes out with the valve with the tube attached?

      @singlespeedpunk7744 With this method, leaving part of the rod in there, you should have plenty of gas in the mag without worrying about it, as long as you don't tilt the mag to "fill it up" even more. But if you fucked it and ripped off the whole thing, yeah only like 10-12 seconds of filling so you leave space for the gas

    At the risk of sounding like an idiot, how does this increase capacity? aside from the tiny bit of material removed there shouldnt be a change... you shouldnt get a different capacity because the chamber is still at the same pressure no matter where it's feeding from, that's the whole reason why gas mags work. .5g of plastic/metal displacement shouldnt change it that much.

    • @sheepmasterrace
      @sheepmasterrace 7 месяцев назад +1

      It’s because of this concept called “vapor pressure.”
      At vapor pressure, a substance can exist as both a gas and a liquid.
      Below vapor pressure, a substance can only exist as a gas.
      (Think why Mars doesn’t have liquid water: Mars has such a low atmospheric pressure that it’s below the vapor pressure of water, so water can only exist as a gas)
      When filling a mag with propane, the gaseous propane builds up until it reaches the vapor pressure of propane.
      At 80 F, the vapor pressure of propane is 128 PSI.
      Once 128 PSI is reached, you could basically consider this as ‘maximum pressure’ (assuming the temperature remains constant).
      When you charge more propane past 128 PSI,
      the propane begins converting into a liquid
      The liquid begins to fill the magazine, and then reaches the metal tube.
      This blocks any more gas from entering the magazine, so the gas begins to spill out of the fill valve.
      Same concept as when you blow bubbles into a glass of water.
      It’s takes some force right?
      Gas always wants to take the path of least resistance, so rather than ‘forcing’ itself past the liquid, it will simple take the easy way out and leave the magazine
