When this camera came out, it was featured in NYC Museum Of Modern Art as part of an exhibit of the best of digital art design in commercial products for quite a while. I have 2, one with the silver lens & one with the black one, also 2 very rare OME form hugging soft plastic camera covers.
cool video, I still have an SD1200IS I got new in 2011. Fun to use when I don't want to break out larger DSLR bodies. I also recently picked up for less than 5 bucks at Goodwill, a DSC-P200 7mp camera also fun to use. It even came with extra memory cards and a ton of someone's european vacation pics lol.
Owned this camera new, still have it actually... and just found my battery / charger last night! Pretty sure the battery is toast, tried to charge it, and the camera said it was empty. That being said, I don't remember the video being that great, but the macro on this is actually outstanding from what I recall. The only reason the macro stands out is that every "smart" phone I've had since this camera absolutely sucks at macro shots.
It's so frustrating. I have the complete box for the SD1000 in plain view. I can't find the darned thing. Honestly, it's probably buried in something in my wife's stuff. I loved that it had the optic finder. I'm old and from the film days. So I've got a thing for viewfinders. I got on a kick collecting the Canon digital Elphs anytime I found them cheap on eBay. There's a 150IS sitting on my desk now. The darn things are just so cute. I really hope I can find that little SD1000 though. That's the one that started.
This cmaera was when Canon was going through their rectangle phase. Just a joke, but on the same daay the SD1000 was released, Canon also released the TX1, which is a retangular camcorder. Shaped just like the SD1000, just a little thicker.
Man I know I had this camera, I wish I knew what I did with it. I assume it's been long tossed. It absolutly still holdes up as a photo camera in good daylight!
did you chdk your cam so it can optically zoom or did you use the digital zoom settings? asking cause i haven't been able to hack my sd1000 via stick app on my m1 max
@@spencerscottpughphotos my sd1000 only had digital and off option and I’ve seen on a chdk sd1000 vid that you can turn on the optical but it’s just loud. Lmk if you have an optical zoom setting in your video menu
Don’t know but I checked today and if I start filming then zoom, it only does the optical zoom to 4x, but if I zoom before hitting record, it zooms in 4x optical then goes farther with digital zoom… does that help?
I tried, Did not like it. The image is too soft. There is not IS (image stabilization) so the processor will blur the image to help. Get the upgrade with optical image stabilization unless you want that soft look.
@@spencerscottpughphotos Matrix 1/2.3" instead of 1/2.5, 10mp instead of 7, more rounded design. The settings are probably about the same. I like that there is a custom color profile - I lowered the contrast -2 to preserve highlights and shadows, this saves more information in the jpeg for later editing. Of course it's not Raw, but still better
Wow! Pictures look great. Can you make a video of the settings you use for the sd1000? I have one and would like to try your settings.
What settings do you use
What Settings you shoot on ?

Hello, are the pictures that shown in the video edited?
Awesome!! I see that you follow King Jvpes also lol, it looks like such a fun camera!
Oh yeah!!!! He totally made a video on this camera as well. It’s literally become my daily driver lol.
Love that little gem ❤❤❤
Which camera did you record while you explaining ? I really love the quality of it
Amazing video! Hope you doing good man. Social media break is good!
It was fantastic. Still got some boundaries. I appreciate your support! Thanks brother!
I loved this video!!! Can you record a video with your digital cameras collection?? ❤
Thanks! It’s not very extensive lol but good idea! Little comparison video!
Hey! I love the photos!, i have the exact same camera. Can you tell me what settings you used?
Why would you have this camera and not install the CHDK firmware? Makes the camera more powerful, and gives it lots of added features.
Hahaha 4:31 😂😂😂😂 great review Gonna buy 1 imediatly

Definitely been a blast to use so far! Just wish you could charge it with a micro usb or something.
Can I see the taken Photos on the LCD?
yes

Not sure... haven't hacked it at all. I thought it has both optical and digital zoom options?
