DigiTech sum this glorious little stomp up better than I can:
"The DigiTech® Luxe is an anti-chorus, DigiTech's first stand-alone, compact, polyphonic detune pedal. The Luxe takes the detune effect from the popular Whammy™ product line and adds positive and negative detune capabilities. The Luxe detune will add consistent “thickening” to your signal without the modulating side effects introduced by a chorus effect. Whether you’re playing single notes or chords, the Luxe provides a lush, solid, and true pitch-detuning effect. Clean guitar chords shimmer. Distorted guitar harmonics are richly enhanced. The Luxe simply just makes everything sound better.
Controls
LEVEL - Adjusts the mix of detune signal with dry signal
DETUNE - Adjusts the detune amount from -50 to +50 cents

DAMN,NAILS ALEX LIFESON'S TONE around 5:30 !!! Santa is Bringing one for me,I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY !!!
I really like that you demonstrated this with the amp's distortion (after the Luxe), as well as a dirt pedal in front of it. Excellent.
I've loved this since it came out... I want one so bad. When running the distortion after it, it almost sounds like you are running a stereo rig with greatly differing EQs on each amp... I love it! Love the doubling effect when ran after distortion as well. Basically no unusable sounds with this pedal - at all.
Not sure if anybody else pointed this out, but awesome demo with "Back to the Old House" by The Smiths. I never even realized there was chorus on that song.
Thanks! There may not be chorus, and I can't play it all that well (obviously), but it seemed to fit. Cheers.
+Brett Kingman There's definitely some chorusing on that song, it sounds really good. As does your playing.
Doesn’t EVERY 90’s song have chorus?
Back to the Old House!
Just picked one of these up... what an awesome pedal! Provides a subtle effect which really adds a depth & clarity (livens up the tone so well)... not as goofy sounding as a chorus (much more useable). Love it! This pedal should be a classic.
JT 66 ....my Digitech dealer had it lying around ...got it at for $60 ....mindblowing pedal. I haven't used it in the fx loop ...should be good I guess.
@@neoaureus When I watched vids on it a few months ago, I thought it didn’t do much so passed. Recently found a new one for $75...decided to try it... had great luck with a Digitech Polara so I thought maybe the Luxe would be good too. Damn, it’s great! Almost a subtle doubling effect that just clarifies and fills out the sound. Beautiful effect to listen to. Prices are going up since Tim Pierce recommended it - glad he did- great great pedal. I’m finding the subtle fx really appeal more than I thought they would (like my Catalinbread Epoch Pre, always on and love that pedal). 👍
JT 66 ....Ah ...a man of good taste. My belle epoch is in the mail....literally waiting for it arrive.
The subtle sounds are really nice.
Excellent demonstration of the pedal's capabilities.
Super cool sounding pedal. Never heard of a Hot Ice,but together they were off the chain.
El pedal perfecto para sonar como Juan Valdivia! Excelente video!
cual es la diferencia con otro chorus porque se le llama anti-chorus??
That is a great sounding pedal, and so unique coming from a mainstream company.
Excellent demo!
Very nice demo. You go through a lot of combinations and regularly switching to dry is much appreciated.
Commas and quarter tones never had sounded so delicious!
Always surprising randomly coming across an Aussie on RUclips. "Wow a normal sounding person!"
So funny - you kicked on the OD and it was instant Rush. Ha!
Cool demo as always - now I want one.
Smiths FTW.
No...really excellent. And I don't use pedals mostly rack or straight. Also appreciate a competent and artistic demo as well nicely played cheers.
Brett you're a genius! You just unlocked my game!
Got mine today, absolutely love it! Thanks for this demo Brett.
great demo, nice bit o rush in there, love it
Right there, THAT at 3:22--that's nice!
Burgs, great demo as always, awesome tone and killer playing. I've been using a detune effect as my chorus tone for years, but always had to have a bigger (pricier) box to do it. It's great to have it available in a basic stomp now.
I have owned the Luxe Detune pedal for over 5 years, I'm really happy with it.
I use it to achieve that 80s Rock en Español / Glam 80s Clean Chorus sound.
Going to start messing around with the detune side of the pedal. I wonder if i can Detune half a step or a full step down.
My favourite chorus at the moment is the small clone model on the MS70-cdr. It's hard to find a chorus you love.
The Smiths! Nice one Brett.
damn, this is really nice!!
150 bucks? Nope. 39 bucks? Hell yes! It's on sale all over the net at that lower price, Alto Music, Amazon, etc... Heck at that price by two and sit one on the shelf as a backup.
Clark Word or run them together!
you play beautifully.
I am very flattered. Thank you.
to my ears when the gain was added, it was almost like a slight reverb effect...i think this is going on my "to get" list. thanks for the video.
sounds like boss dimension C
a chorus pedal without the wobble
Excellent
This sounds nice. My TC Corona Chorus isn't making me happy. Maybe fewer knobs and better sounds is what I need?
Thumbs up for the playing as usual but a pinch of chorus is more than enough for my taste. I actually feel a little creeped out by them when played in the heavy mode. No idea why!
SOLD!
Easy to imagine an amp that has this built in instead of tone controls.
5:10 is Distortion into Luxe
7:03 is Luxe into Distortion
ROCK ON
Beautiful as always, mate. When will you be previewing the Mel 9? Would love to see you demo that.
i wonder what a Boss DS-1 would be like infront of it
Hey Brett,MERRY CHRISTMAS,As Well to Everyone else,..GOOD JOB Showing the LUXE,..Counting Down to Plugging Mine In after Dinner : ) !! ALSO,...DID YOURS Come with a User Manual?,..Mine didn't,I Downloaded it,although I kinda figured the just of it. Bob
I like that a lot, I used to use the Digi Tech multi effects but they kind of take over, but that is a very usable sound cool!
Meant to ask where you can get this, most music shop type places?
Neck pickup Brett, neck pickup! ;)
YEEEESSS
No stereo output?
Is it possible with this pedal to remove the dry signal entirely to have only the detuned signal ? I ask beacause I'd like change a little bit the key of my ocarinas. Thank you.
cool
Who’s got one and what are your favorite settings?
Mix between 45 and 60% and detune set to -15 (lets say 10:30)
I have a strange/unconventional question: is possible to use this pedal to detune a (toy)keyboard or whatever sound/note from a whatever source go to input by putting level to max? Or the detuned output is never completly overtaking the original source? Does such a pedal exist?
Ill let you know as soon as i get mine, but you could achieve this with any signal blender/parallel mixer
So, how is this different from a detune chorus? I've got one of those built-in to my Ampeg VH-140C amp, but it's stereo (or, well, it detunes one stereo channel and leaves the other dry), and this pedal is mono.
Rush!
Awesome pedal! Would you use it front of the amp or thru the fx loop when using the Amp distortion?
Muhammad Syazwan I got one just recently and I use it before OD and after Fuzz into the front of the amp. I'm really digging the doubling effect I'm getting. It also makes a good modulation sound when running into the effects loop of my Keeley Dark Side, when using the Tape Delay. It makes a difference with any effect I've tried.
Muhammad Syazwan Oh, if you use the amp reverb, maybe try it in the loop, but I think it sounds best with dirt in the front.
Hi, looking for a detune pedal thats not a chorus - this looks like it comes close, but has anyone ever seen something like this but where the level and detune pitch actively moves around - so you kinda get odd detunings here and there like an out of tune piano effect, so not on every note?
Chris Moreton Have you looked for a chorus pedal with an expression jack? The pedal would let you tweak the detuning when you want. Check Analogman to build your own. Or check into uni-vibes, which bend pitch in a different way.
Ever find anything? I just got this Luxe pedal and it adds a cool sound. I was thinking you should check the Chorus pedals that Alexander makes. They have some very different takes on the effect that might be what your looking for.
Fairfield Electronics Shallow Water
The smiths!!!!!!!!!
...So it's a pedal that lets you be out of tune...with yourself....that you pay actual money for...and desire...
God, how I love guitar mentality!
We pay for boxes that distort our sound, we damage our amps and abuse our speakers because we get some weird thrill out of doing it. How stupid it all sounds when you think about it...
...Which is exactly why I try not to think about it.
I'm absolutely drooling over this pedal. This could just be one of those sleeper/secret weapon pedals that could give your sound that extra kick that most chorus pedals just can't do. It's also the one, single thing that I liked on the Digitech Whammy pedal (cool pedals, I just couldn't get along with them).
This pedal is going on my short list to Santa.
Haha! Good fun, though, and not half as stupid as some more common human pursuits I can think of ...
Interestingly enough, there are places in the world where there are always pairs of instruments and they are always just slightly out of tune with each other to produce this exact effect (its called beating). So while it does seem a little silly, us humans like things just a little off
WELL,The Clause Did NOT DISAPPOINT :) I will plug in and give you my 2 cents,..NOT that you relly CARE,BUT,I've been Playing Guitar since the mid-70's ( Dammit, now I'm Depressed,...lol! ) But,I'm NOT someone just playing a few months and giving you an Un-Educated opinion. TTY In A Bit :) !
