Cold Steel 1 is in every sense of the word, "the calm before the storm." Just young, simple, and happy days in a school setting before all that crazy shit that goes down in the later games. It's one of the main reasons why I love this game so much.
Couldn't agree with you more and probably why Trails 1 is my fav! The sequels are great but there's just something about the old class vii and their school days I love playing through
It's the same for the first game in every arc, which is nice. Sky FC is maybe the happiest and most lighthearted game in the series, and then SC barges in and changes everything. Zero had some heavy material in it, but the stakes weren't truly raised until Azure. As someone binging through these games still, I appreciate when the start of a new arc reels the tension back for a bit to build all over again.
@@Pompadouriuswell the stakes were high in azure because it literally takes place side by side with trails of coldsteel 1 and I believe in that class 7 was mention in azure in someway

First discovered this game back when it was first released for ps4 last year so glad I discovered this masterpiece of a series. Now like you i'm also waiting for CS4
Sort of reminds me of Xenoblade, which is funny because the composer of this track (Okajima) performed as a drummer for that game. Awesome song, really nostalgic and brings me back to the good old days...
Playing the game right now and I still have the second one to play. I just love this music it really gives me goosebumps and that always happens when I hear an awesome song and this track is no exception it's a masterpiece to be honest. When I hear it it just takes me in a nostalgic trip to the Nord! Love the game in all aspects and the soundtrack is incredible no words...
Music like this makes you, the player, want to explore more of the world you're in. That's why I am loving this game more and more as the days go by. And the characters are all unique.
That's what makes these games so good. You're bound to find at least one or two characters that click with you, and the world itself is so beautiful and fleshed out. Certainly has more soul and heart than a lot of photorealistic big budget AAA titles nowadays.
