Wow! What an achievement!
I must say, in my former career i received awards but i got a real kick out of sharing a "ba-do-ing" for the first time.
You really have THE most entertaining channel.
That's a real boost for me after a long day yesterday so thank you. Really great to hear, and well done!
Something cool that you could add would be a power plant façade against a wall or something that hides a power strip so that you can park a train by it and not have to take it off the layout to charge.
That extension cable can reach anywhere. It does the trams, subway, trains, GBC, everything!
Now you need to make a Snoopy themed wagon for the Red Baron engine, maybe a great pumpkin wagon with a Snoopy minifig inside?
12:45 No SSP interruption? Have they let you go? 😂
This was amazing seeing everything go all at once. What an insane amount of train wagons!! Couldn’t pick 3 favourites, but I love the diesel locomotive, the pump wagon, The Octan wagon, The SSPPrison wagon, and so many more!
I usually do the sound effect when I say it out in full, haha. Otherwise there'd be too many!
dude your builds just keep getting better
Each one has its own video if you want it. In fact the whole Trains playlist is worth a watch, haha!
The fact that the train didn’t derail must be a sign of a fresh start on the city lol
It did a mini one slowing down but, yes it's a good omen!
Yay Lego cargo train. New bigger city, bigger track, more train! Don’t ever stop building more as there’s plenty of space!
🤔 Mine favourites so far I think are castle, Dino and sheep 🐑 - oh wait the pump wagon. My favourite changes every time I watch as they all sooo good!👍
Yes I think you got a world record for longest cargo train and definitely unique carriages! Congratulations🎉
JJ F
Thanks so much, yes the dinosaur one is very funny too!
Robin once you have all the trains and the amusement park, and wind mill and tram and helicopters in, your gonna need a on screen noise volume warning XD
And GBC, haha. Yes!
imagine you make the train so long it is chasing its tail and having the pump wagon nearly getting run over lol 🤣 in between the end of the train and the front :)!! i love your vids robin! watched every one of them
Then you'd be almost watching the gap go around the city!
Nearly at 40k subscribers 😀 🙌
The rain record is 70, but I am sure you will beat it, but in terms of diversity, you have the most diverse train.
I don't think 36k is that near 40k given the speed of growth recently, haha!
My favourite are:
1. chocolate milk wagon
2. beer wagon
3. wagon with 6x6 ATVs
The 6x6 vehicles get their first favourite!
You should do all the passanger cars in one train, before you setup on your tables. 😃 Great vid.
We'll never get there at this rate!
Binging 3 RHB vids after a relaxing holliday... life is good! But wow, this must be a world record indeed Robin, your rules or not!
You could have another wolf jumping from the sheep wagon into the pig wagon. Wolves are known for their gymnastic prowess after all.
Maybe a shepherd for the sheep!
@@RobinHoodBricks What about a yellow skinned Qui-Gon Jinn as shepherd?
My 3 favourites are the fish transporter with the penguins in, the diesel locomotive on the flatbed and the silver octan tanker
Very good choices those!
Congrats on your WR train!
If you would use powered up you could use regular rechargeable batteries. LEGO actually says that you can use rechargeable batteries in the battery box, but advises to use regular batteries for the remote (but rechargeable batteries work as well). The remote can last up to two years with one set of regular batteries. The advantage of powered up is that it’s using Bluetooth so it doesn’t need line of sight to control it. Also you could use the powered up app to program your trains.
Thank you!
Hey Robin! Next time if you have a couple more simple wagons to add, you could put multiple of them into one video! You said they didn't warrant their own, but if you have 3-4 they surely deserve one together!:D
With hindsight I should've done that first, then the whole train but then I'll get accused of making no progress with tables etc. It was only thirteen new ones, haha!
hehehhe it sound like He-man like "i got the Power" phrase, also congrats on the new name, 07:53 Robin, it sometimes happens that the pilot fell to sleep and stuck by the transport. it happens sometimes 🤣. i hope by your new location also working on the railroad as story? 11:05 well that when black suddenly? 15:18 not the pump wagon? that is well the coolest build of the trains. maybe a smaller gear to place it? 22:35 soo.... where is than Robin train wagon?
1. Beer wagon,
2. chocolated milk wagon. (i hope someday also fristi wagon?)
3. torpedo wagon.
that is mine favorite to your collection. but that chrome octane wagon is well unique.
26:26 but you are also made new track and also possiblilty new lines for your city and than you getting more wagons in the loop?
I have fixed the pump wagon now and it works fine. One plate taller but it was very fiddly!
@@RobinHoodBricks i see, let's hope it works?
Amazing to see everything going all at once! My favourites are #1 shunter wagon, #2 beer wagon, #3 fairground elephant wagon. Absolutely love the storytelling with each of these wagons.
Yay a vote for the elephant, haha!
Great Video! My favorite’s are:
1. Shunter
2. Beerwagon
3. The blue hopper wagon
It's time for Lego to have a 'my own train line' again!
They really should. If they did a My Own Train LEGO Ideas competition I'd be able to submit about ten. Or twenty!
This was worth the wait Robin, great vid. My favorites: diesel-shunter, dino transporter and the fishcar with the penguins and the pump wagon (but that makes 4) and perhaps you could add a small trainyard were you can put about around 4 or 5 of the wagons (or perhaps a few more) on display at all times.
That is in the plan exactly. A shunter yard to interface with the docks with room for at least half a dozen favourites. Maybe with the penguins' door open!
My personal favourites are the torpedo wagon in 1st place, followed by the old diesel shunter on the flatbed in 2nd and the chrome octan wagon in 3rd!
Also, I don’t know if you’ve already tried this but it might be a good idea to have all the locomotives split evenly across the train instead of being paired up. You could have one near the back of the train so if any wagons get disconnected they will continue being pushed.
Either way, congratulations for the success with your record breaking cargo train, led by the beautiful new baron!
Good choices. I've had some people suggesting every different split from all six at the front to this, haha. It's not the total power, it's even power I suspect!
not that im into trains that much but LOVE your creativity with the wagons! well done!!! me and my hubby always smile when you laugh with your typical laugh :D its clear you enjoy your time with lego.
Thank you so much. Yes, I think the more silly ones are the best!
1 diesel-shunter. 2 glider flatbed. 3 dinosaur transporter
Oh the glider? I thought it was a little weak but it's good for variety. It looks pretty good built too!
@@RobinHoodBricks the glider is because the white colourscheme maybe a bit dull, and maybe not a complicated build but it fits perfectly in the diversity of your magnificent long cargo train.
Ow, and i ❤ gliders 😅 so that is that
#1 Torpedo, #2 Chrome Octan, #4 Castle Catapult. Love it!!
It's tempting to make a whole castle train. Very silly!
Great job
18:20 Hulk Smash
Indeed, haha!
Looking awesome! Regarding rechargeable hubs, I'm not sure if you're aware of "keybrick", it's a third party product that makes the powered up hubs rechargeable. With bluetooth, your signal issues will most likely be gone, and using pybricks, you can make controlling all motors with a single remote happen with some programming. There's pre-existing programs that do that for you but I would also be willing to create a program to your requirements, if needed. The only downside to poweredup then is that you cannot stack motors, so you would probably have to skip the lights, but then you don't need to modify the motors to switch the polarity. Another downside to keybrick is that the charging port (USB-C) would be on the side of the hub, so it would be non-trivial to get to it in most trains.
Very interesting but there's also another problem, I have all this kit already, haha. A switch over would cost a ton!
Now you’re gonna need a big boy steam locomotive for all that freight
The power it's fine but getting it evenly spread is harder!
That’s right
Lol true
Haha very funny very funny
Well done Robin. It is an amazing achievement. I think your new city, with all the trains running, plus the fleet of monorails and the subways will be overwhelming. With everything running it will be impossible to take it all in……wow!!.,
It was quite stressful having it all running in the old city so I think you're right. A more reasonable length cargo train should be super reliable too!
1: Chrome Octan. 2: SSP 3: Schnabel Torpedo Wagon.
Wise choices for sure!
Fantastic fun! Favorite wagons: Toxic spill, sheep wagon, elephant transport
Aww the elephant. He is fun!
This has to be my favorite video you have ever made.
Awww that's lovely to hear. Yeah I enjoyed doing this one. Happy to say the pump wagon is back in action so the record is even longer now!
You’re going to need The right handed knuckle couplers. They are going to help you from your train splitting apart and causing a lot of chaos
The little 1x2 round plates kinda does that job. The strains are huge and on every piece throughout the train!
Fantastic video sir
So nice of you!
Without the Pump Wagon, my favourites are the cross-theme carriages of the Dinosaur transport, the Catapult and the Space Hoppers.
Someone else has asked for a pirate one. You may like that too!
That cargo train is so impressive. You must have a record for the longest train running, never seen one this long on all the Lego RUclips videos I have watched.
My top 3 wagons are the pump wagon, torpedo wagon and the silver tanker wagon.
Looks like you are right that there are something with the Trixbricks switches, as it sees the wagons with a mechanism do a little jump crossing those rails. But I am sure you wan rework the mechanism so the pump wagon can come back on the rails.
Thanks so much. Yes I think it's longest too but I don't have proof.
The new track pieces can have tiny imperfections in the 3d print that touch low-slung mechanisms but these can be sanded down smooth and they're then fine. I've done the two continuous curve switches. I need to do the two t-junctions now!
Best cargo train ever!!! Congrats robin!!!
Yay, that means a lot!
Fantastic. I like the slow speed, it's good for the scale. Model railways always have the problem of not going slow enough.
My favorite wagon on your train will always be the one that made me subscribe to you, which was the Milk wagon. a very close second is the red caboose.
I forget how good looking the milk one is. Simple but very nice. Need a bantha milk one still, haha!
this is aawesome, my favourites are the penguin/ fish container, the dinosaur and the sheep wagon.
If I may suggest a wagon a British 7 plank in dark green with a random load it would look unique with all the other cars you have also amazing work it looked amazing when running a proper freight train
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 love it!!!!!!
My top 3 would be the chrome, both milk wagons, then the octane tanker 😁
That's four. You're clearly a tanker fan!
😅😁
My top 3 would have to be the torpedo wagon, the shiny octane tanker and the log car with the guy in the log suit.
For future MOCs you could do themed freight trains where you have freight trains on the inner and outer track with only wagons that "fit" the theme of the new wagon you are adding. IE you add another tanker car and when you show the new wagon on the train you have only other tankers on the train/s
Yes there's enough here for several themes, just not everything at once for daily use!
Catapult transporter, SSP wagon, and toxic waste are my 3 favs, with honorable mentions to space hopper and beer wagon😂. Those are my choices of favs
Ahhh I like your choices as well. They're all my babies. I can't choose without remorse!
U picked the. Baron. Yay 😊 💪 .the red baron.😁
Thanks for voting!
I thought "wellies" was just boots. Now I learn it also means power. Thanks for the education!
Give it some welly, i.e. pedal to the metal, as a welly is a boot!
Such a long and beautiful train, great accomplishment. Definitely keep building carriages. My favourite carriages have got to be, 1: Caboos 2: Fish Carrige with cheeky penguins, 3: Green Crane car (biast because I have one too)
Gotta love the penguins!
the wood hauling one with thief looking at gold my fav
That makes me smile too. Perfect use of the tree suit!
Congratulations!!! 🎉
Thank you!
Maybe we could mock up an underground rail garage to work as a storage place for carriages when not on the line. Or if there would be a good space to have an elevated tressel that could have parked cars on it. Maybe lined up on rails on a shelf over the desk? I couldnt imagine how it would handle any kind of incline if there was an elevation change with that many cars. I like how the light reflects off of the acrobat and chrome ones. Pump wagon is probably my third pick for top 3.
Good top 3!
I think you really have to think of this as 3 trains, connected together rather than 1 train. You should try coupling all the trucks together with NO distributed power and see just how many locomotives are needed to pull them all from the FRONT! That would be a REAL train!
I'll try that next but the pressures are amazing. It's hard to pull by hand like that as half the train is moving in the opposite direction on the other side of the loop around two corners. If it was straight it would be easy!
Nice Job Robin. One thing though, you forgot the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile Transport Wagon!
You can’t have a cargo train without a giant hot dog RV transport wagon on it, now can you?
Or, you know, a McDonald’s car would work too! Probably made from the pieces of set 3438!
Rockatoa, a hopeful those pump car personnel have insurance Brickticks out!
Now that's a cool hotdog vehicle haha!
That slow speed you had when starting is the perfect speed in my opinion :)
Chrome chocolate milk and acrobats are my top 3🎉. Fantastic cargo goodness 🙌
Good choices!
Great variety of train cars.
Top 3
Octane
Dinosaur
3 green cable spools
Thanks for voting. That's the first for the cable spools, although it is one that I've seen in real life unlike many of the others!
@RobinHoodBricks
I choose Octane because of the good reuse of a rare part.
The Dinosaur for whimsy.
The green cable spools for realism.
brick Derby just did 50 wagons ! 🤣
I bet they were rubbish!
WR accieved hope you get the thousand dollars fron guieness!
I'd settle for a YT play button!
I see that Hello Fresh placement! I smell a sponsorship cooking!
I think I was sent that box!
Please please make an official Guiness record request!!! Also delighted to see a couple of the wagons we donated / inspired there including the acrobat as one of your favourites! Would love to see the top 6-8 wagons of your original design submitted to bricklink - I know there are many barriers and reasons to not but I would so buy that set and am sure 3000 of your other viewers would! Great video and great train
1. Space hoppers; 2 dinosaur skeleton; 3 sheep wagon with wolf. We have built the space hoppers and dinosaur skeleton. Also love the alien conquest range. I had to purchase every reasonably priced alien and space craft in Australia after seeing your set up. Perhaps you could make a carriage with a captured spacecraft and alien. Love your work!
good ol' B&H railway
Thanks for watching!
Chroom wagon, Torpedo wagon and Cement wagon
Good choices!
My favorite is Fish wagon, GBC wagon, pump wagon
Solid choices!
Favorite carriages: SSP #1 pump wagon #2 and Dinosaur skeleton #3
SSP with the locked up old and ginger people. Yes!
here in the USA, it's not uncommon to see very long freight trains, sometimes even longer than 2 km long. When you put your engines in the middle of the train, it's called DPU (distributed power units). It improves fuel economy and makes trains more efficient. Glad to see you using a great power-boosting technique for that awesome train. I would to have a train as long as yours, but I don't have the budget :)
by the way i love that trebuchet car!
Have you tried to build “b-units” (extra motors essentially attached to the locomotives) which will add length and give you more power? (It would also give your pantograph locomotives a chance to get a better signal with a little reconfiguration)
They just seem a bit boring without even a cab. A big motor box!
@@RobinHoodBricks the way I see them, they are extensions to the loco like the two tenders from the flying knotsmen.
The torpedo, the dino, and the pump wagon.
Very good choices!
hey robbin sometimes a rail company would have a brakevan or caboose behind the front locomotives and another at the end of the train, now i believe this is because back in the day you didn’t have air brakes and you had to have the brakes turned by hand by the two break people, also i would put (locomotives) the hulk the beast and the yellow one together as they look more european (swiss germany) and the hammerhead, barron, and the read switcher together as they look more american
Yeah I'll move the yellow brake van up to the middle!
One thing that bothers me about the proposed bidirectional subway is that it is going on the same track, which would be an accident waiting to happen. Maybe you could have it split into two rails, temporarily through the station, with clever switch tracks. That way, it goes on one track in one direction and the other on the return trip
It's a toss up between realism and having deep dark stations that are harder to see into. They are currently cutaways so there is a second track, we just can't see them!
Wow, so many trains! I love it🤩🤩🤩I A can't wait to see them in de Lego city!
Same here. This floor thing will never catch on, haha. Although it does take me back to being a kid!
The space hoppers doesn't hop anymore ! Problem with the new track or i forgot when you have removed this (quite noisy if i remember correctly) function ?
Hard to choose only three wagons with so many possibilities. I will probably pick 3 animated ones, there are the most impressives.
All this train is impressive, congrats ! 🎉
(I must go back watch the circus wheel wagon video, am I crazy or i see the side sticker blinking ?)
The side sticker is mirrored, like a lot of Friends sticker sheets. The space hoppers' function adds a lot of drag. I deactivated it the last time I did a long train. It's also very noisy as you say, haha!
Please get the maersk train! It would look so good and stand out so well!
One day maybe. My finances have already been hammered with the new room!
My top 3:
1. Pump car.
2. Shunter wagon.
3. The green crane car from 7898.
1. Space hopper 2. acrobat 3. chocolate milk. The space hopper still makes me giggle whenever I see it.
Maybe have a pig costume mini figure in with the pigs? The long train looked awesome 😊
Maybe and thanks!
1- Dinosaur 2- Pump Waggon 3- Fish wagon 🐧
Classic choices!
i honestly feel like the outer track is big enough for two of the passenger trains to run on it at once maybe? idk i just love chaos
That huge train
Sure is!
Shorten the train? Stop adding more wagons? Seriously?!
Computer says no!
What madness took over me? It'll be less back braking on tables. We don't want a tired Robin!
Missed a great chance for a Hello Fresh sponsorship here.
I think you can buy IR repeaters if the city interferes with the subway.
That's pretty reliable. You just have to stop it in stations!
Hopefully, you'll have a cargo train loading station at the harbor loading onto a static train with some of the out of action cargo wagons
Robin "Hulk what are you playing at" Hulk "HULK SMASH PUNY TRAIN"
Hahahahahahaaa!
That was my response too!!
1. Shunter, 2. Torpedo, 3. Pump wagon
All beautiful ones. My torpedo wagon is very popular indeed so I'm very happy with that!
you'll need a gripper for dropped stuff when it's in the city. can reach further in that way.
It'll need to be sensitive, or sticky!
For the city just don’t ever let it stop…. Just keep it running it 4-ever
If the pantographs are blocking things how is it going to cope with buildings, tunnels etc? Isn't everything going to block the signals?
Well this is clearly too long for daily use. Some will be in sidings, some will be removed and the resulting train will pull all this easily and can have six locomotives closer together, all on the front open straight at the same time. It's been like this the entire time in the old city!
My top 3 : 1- Castle 2 - Chrome 3- Fish transport...
Ahhh you like the fun ones best. Good choices!
In no particular order, Diesel-Shunter, Elephant transport, Pump wagen
I feel honoured, haha!
Pump Wagon > Concrete spinner > Chocolate milk.
A notable omission is something piratey or boat.
You could try to build a locomotive that is called a slug which is a locomotive that has no cab section but can be added to a train to give it more power
I don't understand what a B-Unit would add that a locomotive doesn't. A locomotive looks nicer too!
@@RobinHoodBricks well it doesn't have to be a B-Unit but it could be just a regular locomotive without the engineer on board like here in America most of our freight trains are connected together at the front of the train with two or more locomotives with the engineers only in the front locomotive which is how they can pull long trains over great distances
Great job that was a good achievement
I guess the only way around the IR signal 'challenge' would be 9v rail using the metallic tape like Bevin's Bricks, but that's probably as impractical as MILS plates on a city of your size! 😂
Also having to buy 12 old motors. I also think it'd not work with that volume of motor due to the current required. Not safely anyway!
@@RobinHoodBricks Good point, please don't electrocute yourself!
1. Shunter
2. Dinosaur transporter
3. Beer waggon
Success! Yay!!
Hard work!
Congratulations on your world record attempt..did you contact the folks over at Guinness?
Nahh, I think it might be a bit niche!
HECK. YES.
Indeed!
Fair play robin for replying to every comment for years
Yeah, I'm still doing it haha!
Snowpiercer in the new city! woohoo!
Hahahaa it's a bit huge!
