You forget… forgiveness isn’t just about the person that hurt or wronged you. It’s also for yourself. If he didn’t figure out how to forgive his son it would eat away at his soul and likely destroy his own life. Forgiveness can be so so hard. But it’s always the right choice. And it’s always the most healing choice.

Probably depends on the person and their personality. The ones i am certain about are: Relief that it's finally over; the pain will finally be ending; If God is real after all, i hope he understands and forgives me; Doesn't matter that i did or didn't do XYZ - not anymore; anything that was real to me and truly matters has been shattered beyond repair; i would rather Live, but i was denied the choice of Life w/o Misery; just can't fight anymore, all out of anything to fight on with; Counseling is useless, even if it was available; God must Hate me, my Prayers never get answered and i just get hurt; and a few others similar. Now these Particulars are probably more accurate for people who choose death voluntarily, {Suicides, Doomed Missions, etc.}, but still apply - your own Mortality is irreversibly ending, and you have to face it head-on and deal with it.

I imagine nobody can really say for sure, but I did once hear that there is some science behind the saying that your life flashes before your eyes before you die. At least according to what I read somewhere, it's because as you're dying, the last or one of the last parts of your conscious mind to shut down is the region associated with memory. Which in a way might be consoling or peaceful, but at the same time I wonder if it would be terrifying. I mean, if the last functional part of your brain is focused on memories, then does that mean that from your perspective, you'll be dying at a much younger age than you actually did with no recollection of future events? Or is that shift to memories not that overwhelming of reality.
Assuming, of course, I read and am remembering correctly, or not misinterpreting the information.

When his “graduation” was supposed to be coming up his family took him to dinner to celebrate not knowing he had planned for an assassin to enter the home while they ate to wait on them to come home and shoot them all as they entered the house? I don’t remember the name of the guy, but i remember it was such an incredibly tragic story. My heart just breaks for the father who survived it all, forgave his son and fought for the court to have mercy on his son throughout the trial. Furthermore, his mother miraculously survivied (although severely disfigured) and proclaimed her son's innnocence, even at trial, and even though the evidence was overwhelming.

Somewhat similar to when Steven Truscott was waiting to hang in Canada in 1959-60, he was all alone in a county jail cell for about 4 months. Conditions were very much like what this guy experienced, one hour a day out doors, one shower a week, but no other prisoners in the jail most of the time. He wrote that the hours alone passed without him being able to remember what had even gone through his head most days. He got a commutation to life in prison but not at the last minute like this guy.

Wow…. That’s all I have to say for this video because it’s all just a man’s memoir. Idk why this video just had me thinking a lot man and I was truly expecting the end for him to just die even though I knew he wrote this and right when I was thinking “did the channel creators start adding their own thoughts to the end of his?” was when the part where the phone rang happened. Very well done video no offense I find a lot of your videos cheesy, though I always leave a like because I find them interesting, this one just hit deep for whatever reason. Good job.

    That is awful
I can't comprehend how he wanted his family dead in the first place

Just for some money, that he probably would have wasted on expensive cars, drugs, hookers, travel, gambling, you name it.

Yeah, I had a hard time feeling sympathy for him in this video after hearing about that. Disgusting. His brother still had his whole life ahead of him too.

When you actually recognize the story from the first minute without them even saying who it was.
Really, this isn't just based on the story of Thomas Whitaker. Seemed to have been a word for word retelling.
