It'd be a bit interesting to know if there is a protocol in place for if the inmate does die on the day of the execution. Either by suicide or natural causes; and if it's ever happened.
there are protocols..watch other videos on the topic in this channel ..The management takes care of everything including food..for example some people who are allergic to peanuts will order peanuts on purpose as their last wish to die from allergy but the management monitors and performs full health check to see what the prisoners can have.. also there won't be any extra clothing inside cell so prisoners don't hang or choke themselves etc.. Many other protocols
Prisoner suicide happened twice that I know of. One was notable, and it happened in 1946 at Nuremberg. Former Luftwaffe CinC and Reichsmarschall Hermann Goering cheated the hangman by swallowing cyanide less than two hours before he would've been the first man on the gallows. The second instance happened in Texas decades later. The prisoner was found dead in his cell having slit his own wrists. He used his own blood to write "I didn't do it" on the wall of his cell before dying of blood loss.
They still disinfect the needles and his arms just in case the condemned gets a stay of execution. That way, they don’t get an infection that kills them anyway.

What should not be forgotten: This video shows a ideal run-through. I absolutely reject Death Penalty, but be it as it is. However several issues are not included in the video, starting from innocently executed (from whom several hundreds if memory serves correctly have be officially exonerated), through the issue of botched executions: Due to sourcing issues the first shot is now usually ommitted for a one or two substance solution. There are very heavy indicators that people are not put to sleep but only immobilized and suffer from an extreme feeling of burning inside for several minutes under full consciousness before dyeing. Apart from this, other issues arise like prison staff not being able to find veins due to former drug issues, prodding the person multiple times (as far as I know without anesthetic). Other bothes like injecting into muscle tissue leaving to further agony as the distribution of the drug is slowed which is not adjusted to schedule, waiting for hours on governors call to stay or to continue
Improper anesthesia is one of my biggest fears. Regardless of whether it’s for execution or for surgery, I can’t imagine the horror of feeling everything being done to me but being unable to move or scream. Meanwhile, onlookers think I’m not feeling a thing.
The fact that innocent people get the death penalty doesn't mean we have to abolish it. Innocent people get thrown in prison all the time. Should we abolish prison?
@@angelosmorfis4412 The older I get the more I realize that life isn't black and white but often grey. This is why I wrote that there are several reasons coming together in my mind why death penalty should be omitted. However the counterargument is not valid. A) Yes, innocent people are put into prison and are sentenced to death. If you didn't sentence the latter group to death, they are still in prison innocently with a life sentence instead. B) Death penalty is extraordinary in that is an irrevocable sentence comparable to other corporeal punishments like amputation. It exceeds there as with other sentences (serving time or even corporeal punishments (which I also reject)), if innocence is proven resp. guilt disproven, the wrongly convicted person can be exonerated and can be reintroduced to being free again which the person should have been all the time. After execution, any exoneration is solely a bitter reparation for relatives having lost a loved person which didn't have to die. C) Two wrongs do not make one right. There is no moral imperative to harm one group of people (wrong death sentence) because another group of comparable persons are harmed (prison sentence). Instead, the moral obligation is to better serve both groups. Prison does serve a purpose for factually guilty people but none for innocent people. This should be the goal, which I hope you agree to. There are of course several other issues like racially based execution rates, misrepresentation by mostly public defenders, questionable death sentences to people who were tested to be so low IQ that the death sentence shouldn't even have been applicable, however I think above points provide enough reason to countermand your argument.
@@angelosmorfis4412 A prison sentence isn't permanent, a death sentence is. Even a single case of an innocent person sent to death is unacceptable, the fact you even think otherwise shows you need serious help.
Close, but not exactly how it goes. The inmate spends his last 24h in a holding cell next to the execution chamber, not on death row. He or she is not handcuffed while escorted to the death house. Witnesses do not see the inmate walking in to the chamber. When the curtains are opened he or she is already strapped to the gurney. The executioner is in a seperate room, not visible to the witnesses.
Prisoner kept for many years, even decades in solitary confinement and then executed, even when he might be old and sick. That is so inhuman. It is torture and it is insane. How can a democracy like the USA do this to anyone in the 24th century?
For the crimes some of them did, not brutal enough. They should be castrated, they should be tortured till their final day and their execution should be slow and painful. If the victims died in agonizing pain, so should the condemned.
Death row prisoners have to wait to long and no matter how guilty they are they still let them appeal the sentence to a higher court then another should be done within the year .
I agree. First off, the death penalty does need refining. I'm not against it. It should only be an option if it is known without a doubt the person did it. An example I give is O.J.. There was indeed a lot of circumstantial evidence against him. Nothing that positively said he did it. That being said, if someone is found guilty & given the death penalty, they have 30 days to file an appeal (they only get 1 appeal). If the new trial with a new judge & jury once again finds them guilty, the execution takes place within 30 days. There's no reason why someone should be on death row 20-30 years. That's ridiculous.
What about those wrongly convicted? Or what about mental health crisis that led someone to committing a crime that warrants a death penalty. What about race and other human factors that give certain people harsher penalies for the same crimes?

This video assumes people on death row operate as good, functioning people. Many of these individuals are not still not remorseful, and they are still self-centered. They have not been "repenting" for the past decade.

i do agree with death penalty but in some cases, like terrorism and other barbarities, and the inmate suffering should be directly proportional to the suffering caused.
Death penalty stops us from having to pay for their existence. Billions and billions are spent keeping life sentence inmates alive, which is the only alternative.
I don’t know I just think that life in a cell is better for someone who did horrible acts than getting to escape to death. I also don’t really think anyone should control when another dies. It makes the state no better than the murderer…

The death penalty is unevenly applied and capricious. White Americans are much less likely to be given the death penalty, unless they have committed multiple heinous crimes, and they're well known, like Ted Bundy. IMHO, the death penalty should be abolished. It may be rare for a truly innocent person to be executed, but even one is too many. Putting a criminal to death is horrendously expensive for the state. When a person is convicted of a capital crime, an entire second trial is necessary to determine if capital punishment is warranted, and once the sentence is pronounced, there are years, possibly twenty or more, of appeals. The lawyers make tons of money, the taxpayers foot the bill for at least the prosecution and usually the defense as well, since poor people are more likely to be sentenced to death. Keeping a person in jail for life costs less than the penalty phase of the trial and the first appeals. Each time an appeal is filed or denied, the prisoner gets more press coverage, and the victims' families have to suffer more. The criminal should just be sent to prison for life without parole, essentially dropped into a black hole and never talked about again until they die in prison...no TV interviews, no greedy lawyers, no fame from press coverage, no further torment of the victims' families from seeing the murderer's face on TV or newspapers.
I disagree. I support the death penalty and believe that the reason that it is unevenly applied is not because of racism but economic issues. In my opinion prison is way to good for them because they can go outside to the yard, watch tv and play cards. People always say that life in prison is the worst but I’ve seen way more prisoners fear death.

there are protocols..watch other videos on the topic in this channel ..The management takes care of everything including food..for example some people who are allergic to peanuts will order peanuts on purpose as their last wish to die from allergy but the management monitors and performs full health check to see what the prisoners can have.. also there won't be any extra clothing inside cell so prisoners don't hang or choke themselves etc.. Many other protocols
Ye can't cheat me out of me execution, lad!

Is this a revamp of an old video, because I think this is the same title of an older video of yours.
I don’t agree with the death penalty either

Video: 60 minutes on death row minute by minute

Close, but not exactly how it goes. The inmate spends his last 24h in a holding cell next to the execution chamber, not on death row.
He or she is not handcuffed while escorted to the death house. Witnesses do not see the inmate walking in to the chamber. When the curtains are opened he or she is already strapped to the gurney. The executioner is in a seperate room, not visible to the witnesses.

Yes but they earned it they killed people lots of people to get death row
For the crimes some of them did, not brutal enough. They should be castrated, they should be tortured till their final day and their execution should be slow and painful. If the victims died in agonizing pain, so should the condemned.

It’s so unfair that these monsters get to die so peacefully . Ther victims sure didn’t get that same courtesy.
That's ridiculous.
the fact that death penalty still exists even today show how much the humans have evolved
This is inhumane, but think about the horrible things the inmate did to innocent people. To get yourself in such situation, you have to be a monster.
What about those wrongly convicted? Or what about mental health crisis that led someone to committing a crime that warrants a death penalty. What about race and other human factors that give certain people harsher penalies for the same crimes?

Do you have statistics on this? Do you want to look at all the non white people who were sentenced to death and analyze their crimes?
I disagree. I support the death penalty and believe that the reason that it is unevenly applied is not because of racism but economic issues. In my opinion prison is way to good for them because they can go outside to the yard, watch tv and play cards. People always say that life in prison is the worst but I’ve seen way more prisoners fear death.
This was actually so interesting 😁
