@@chrisk.5964 Yeah, that's not true. While it is true that most (see 90+%) prisons have kitchens ran by inmates, not all do. Some places have actual kitchen staff who are government employees. This especially applies to juvenile facilities like detention centers (basically kid jail for short term stays and waiting for court) and training schools (kid version of prison, though they're nowhere near as bad as adult prisons). The food isn't great in those facilities, but it is an improvement over the slop served in adult facilities. There are also some rare adult facilities that have kitchen staff, like the prisons which house elderly and infirm inmates. @@joefeigenbutz4011 Lol I've been raped and seen people get murdered.... I still would never justify the Death penalty...it's people killing other people with the government's approval

Well having the death penalty doesn’t lower a counties crime rate and the fact of the matter is innocents will die in any imperfect system. It’s arguably even better for societies to keep people such as pedophiles alive and tested on in hopes of finding a cure than to simply execute them.
Innocents dying compared to real criminals is extremely rare. Death penatly is fine since alot of the times there is definitive evidence (recordings, confessions)
Tbh i feel people like ted bundy or the mansons should get death row but. But people dont really deserve to die as in the declaration of human rights for the right to live. Watch 14 Days of May. It's a 1970's documentary available for free online. It follows inmates on death row all the way up to their executions and even shows the chambers being tested on animals. The main person it follows is Edward, an innocent black man who was gas chambered for 'killing a white woman'. It's heartbreaking and really drives home why the death penalty is not to be supported. Up to 75% of the people on death row are thought to likely be innocent.

It isn't only one murder. It is usually that they murder someone then go to a normal jail and then once they are released they will commit another crime, and after that crime they go to a more secure confinement cell and if they get released from their and commit another crime they probably will get a death sentence because they have realised that they are too dangerous to be on planet earth so they have to take them out of it

If a guy killed my whole family and got put on death row, id be pissed. They just get to leave without suffering the pain that he had cause me. People who get put on death row should consider themselves lucky.
Actually, research has shown that it costs the state MORE to kill someone than to have them spend the rest of their lives in prison, with appeals, stays of the execution, legal battles, etc. It is literally more cost effective to keep them in prison for life.
That last question. I'd much rather be killed by firing squad than lethal injection. I'm assuming it's counted as 'less humane' (as if any way of killing someone is) but I'd find it preferable.

Imagine explaining to ur family you work at the death row kitchen
umm every prison/jail kitchen is worked by inmates lmao.
Steinmetz Yeah though they could still tell their family (if they still talk or even have family) that they potentially could have served the last meal that day.
Even prisoners have families. They’re all human beings.
It’s not just the death row kitchen it’s the entire prisons kitchen. And the inmates are the ones who work there
@@chrisk.5964 Yeah, that's not true. I've been volunteering in adult and juvenile facilities for over a decade now and have seen a shit-load of them. So I do know what I'm talking about on this one.
@@james_ford86 ill give you juveniles, elderly, and those rich elite prisons, but the rest are inmates. doesnt make sense for tax payer money to go towards hiring staff when you have hundreds/thousands of men standing around doing nothing all day.

I can’t decide whether I agree with death row or not, I live in England and it’s illegal here but I believe some people deserve to die but if someone is framed and killed for something they didn’t do then how can you even begin to justify taking someone’s life away, that is the main reason it’s illegal here
Well having the death penalty doesn’t lower a counties crime rate and the fact of the matter is innocents will die in any imperfect system.
It’s arguably even better for societies to keep people such as pedophiles alive and tested on in hopes of finding a cure than to simply execute them.
FINALLY SOMONE SAID IT !!

Ben O'Connell I did not see or feel that at all. That would be due to the differences in our individual perceptions. I think that he is totally truthful regarding his thoughts and feelings regarding the death penalty and witnessing executions. Then again - I also work at the Polunsky Unit, which houses many death row inmates; therefore I likely have a more intimate understanding of such individuals than most people
Nah, as sad as it sounds you get used to it, also don't forget that these are the worst criminals out there and their death might bring a sense of justice to those poor remaining families. Same goes with doctors, cops, paramedics, they witness horrible accidents/deaths and you just can't break down there. I think that guy has the right mentality.

Actually, research has shown that it costs the state MORE to kill someone than to have them spend the rest of their lives in prison, with appeals, stays of the execution, legal battles, etc. It is literally more cost effective to keep them in prison for life.
Zach Just put them in front a firing squad.
I would imagine that would cause greater stress on taxes and overcrowd our already full prisons but idk any facts either
